I have been waiting a long time for a kit like this, but a part of me wishes it came with a head that more closely resembled how the GM looked in the original anime, but I understand that this is a representation of the Origin design.
Already have it and also 2 other pbandai sleggar and moroccan front, I distribute the weapons from this kit to other GM's, definitely worthed to have them all
It's a weird nitpick since they choose to absolutely spoil us with so much stuff in one kit, but I didn't like that this kit comes with three types of beam guns, but no machine-guns. I converted the "early type" Beam Spray gun on mine to a ballistic firearm since it frankly looks like it should be one anyways. Pretty simple conversion. I cut off the back end piece, added some tubing to the front that matches the diameter of the 90mm machine-gun on other kits, re-attached the rear piece to the muzzle (narrow end out, thicker end toward the weapon) and drilled it out so it now resembles a bird-cage style flash hider like what you'd see on M16 rifles. I'm still debating trying to cut some small bits of plasticard up and cut into the side of the weapon near the "magazine" to create an ejection port, or be lazy just claim "Oh it probably fires some sort of caseless ammo." When/if they get around to a Revive of the basic GM, I hope it includes a 90mm MG.
SOOO MAD I missed out on the Guncannon from earlier last year. I stopped paying attention to Gunpla AGAIN, so I had ZERO clue this was coming out. I would have preordered it if I could. I ADORE grunt mobile suits, especially the GM.
I really like this kit but after building the Origin Gundam, Sleggar's GM, and the Moroccan Front GM I was definitely feeling a bit tired building it. I think my biggest gripe is that they give you all the numbers and emblems but don't tell you where they're from. 101 and 102 appeared in the Doan's Island movie but all the other numbers are from the Manga and I had to reread a good chunk of The Origin to find out what was what.
This kit has a lot of nice options but is pricey for army builds where you might not use all of the added equipment. Unfortunately, it's hard to say if we'll ever get a non-MSD base GM without all the addons.
I made a bet with someone that I'll eat my pants if Bandai released a modernized vanilla GM kit before I'm dead Looks like I'm gonna have to add pants into my meal today.
As someone that didn't really like "The Origin", I am pleased that this very RGM was in "Cucuruz Doan's Island". I can include it in my HG UC collection (albeit if in a grey area...) alongside its older 2001 cousin :D
Pity for the missiles made with stickers. it would have required just 4 red pieces to make them clor accurate. For the rest the model is amazing. Better looking than all WfM put together and even if it uses polycaps it is very solid and well articulated. I got myself 3 to build a squadron
GM Gang! I got ahold of the Moroccan Type Origin GM, so this being a proper retail release is awesome. Now if only they release the Origin version of the GM Cannon Space Assault Type
You know what'd be a weird p-Bandai release, Schwarzette prototype ver. (the intended ai assisted successor to Darilblade). Only new face & new stickers, but would be a funny release.
I think Origin Gundam has a bit more going on than OG Gundam so in Origin universe it makes sense for their version of the GM to be a cut above the UC grunts

I've snipped off the gundam chin off of mine and just cleaned it up by sanding and now it looks more like a classic GM

I’m kit bashing this with the p-Bandai gm night seeker to add the classic front skirt, shin armor and head to get as close to original design

The large beam rifle fits nicely in the center of the backpack and actually looks good there too.

It was trash in the movie. 6-8 appeared and couldn't down a single zaku even when outnumbering it 3-1. Lmao. Garbage.

If bandai makes a regular origin gm you can buy this set and spread the extra weapons to the other gms
Picked one of these up recently, was very pleased with how it went together.
Definitely the best version of the OYW GM.

This is Katoki's redesign of the GM for Origin though, not an actual modernized Okawara GM. So save your pants soldier. There's more waiting to do.

Bout time we got something like this for the GM. We’ll probably never get a 2.0 HGUC of the classic GM but this fills the void just fine.

I always thought that the original GMs are -downgrade- budget lite of RX 78-2 but this is make it as if it improvement of OG Gundam
I think Origin Gundam has a bit more going on than OG Gundam so in Origin universe it makes sense for their version of the GM to be a cut above the UC grunts

development for both factions iirc.
