Wolnica Square, where our apartment and the restaurant are located, was the main square of Kazimierz and the building with the tower I showed from the restaurant was the former town hall. We are in Kazimierz 😂

German teenagers learn how to bake real bread in Polish schools! I will write to you what is the greatest success of My Homeland after the fall of communism: the communists did not manage to destroy the source of the Polish soul, i.e. the Polish countryside. What's more, for years I had digestive issues in the US and the doctors were unable to help - I came to Poland and those issues disappeared overnight. When I leave Poland they reappear. But, that's not what I have loved the most. What I've loved most is Krakow - and the experience of discovering the city over the last year. There are so many aspects to it and the combination of all of them combined is what has been so powerful. And I think I've only started....
We , born here in Krakòw -krakovians have our special way of skipping some letters in a word : Po krakowsku....we say it po krakosku, hence name of the restaurant. We say obarzanki...obwarzanki no way.🥨 Words : koleżanka, kuzynka, łazienka- letter N is " is swallowed up by krakovian" Our christmas tree 🎄is not choinka but drzewko...but we say in Krakòw ...👂🦻sounds like .... Dżefko.🎄 We also use diffrent names for objects, culinary ect to other parts of the country where words are from Prussian or Russian - we were under 123 years under Austrian partition; In Kraków we walk on foot - na nogach, Warsaw walks - pieszo - pieszki from Russian. Example : in the video Ged eat pfiszinger for desert - which everywhere else is a tower of wafers with cacao cream filing. We always made that at home for every weekend. Ther rest of the country uses Wafle - waifers but in Krakòw we call it Andruty Ged eat sourcabbage soup called in Kraków kapuśniak. Here in the menu soup has name used in village Łącko from Beskidy gòrale region. Ged - in any other restaurants in Krakòw that soup will be on the menu as kapuśniak. Ps. Nina's Maczanka po krakosku....was a bit of misunderstanding ? How can toasted bread can soak up the gravy ? Dish is a braised neck of pork in thick gravy. Maczanka - word is to dip piece of bread🥖 or if you lived near bakery or a shop a roll.
@@planetkrakow try take away lunch , bring you own dishes ( restaurant charges for take- away containers) or buy tiffin 3 tier containers in Jubilat or anykitchen shop ( Kleparz) Lunch set menu so not to big portions as not to sleepy for pm work. Nina's potato pancake was overdone ! Her dessert sirnioki which are eaten in Russia were overcooked too.
