I play on PS3 all the time. I understand them shutting down servers on a 15 year old game but it really does make me sad. I'll play as much as I can until December!

damn that sucks. BC1 and BC2 were the best experiences i had in Battlefield on console. Spent many hours on it and made some great friends that i still chat to today

The very first video game I ever played online, Bad company1 and bad company 2 are my favorite games of all time. If you're not gonna give us a 3rd game, remaster BC1 and Bc2, please.
This game's MP was great in its prime. really good stuff. Try piloting a helicopter, incredibly difficult to pilot, but very rewarding!
Guys I played BC2 via Project Rome and it's still great! You can play it and there are about 30 servers and few of them are full during daytime. Never stop comming back to this game.

1943 was really good in its prime too. Servers totally full, fighting on Iwo Jima, could find a game immediately. Great visuals, lots of fun!

I hope that somebody will be able to reverse engineers bc2 so they can make a private server client so we can still play bc2 on PC kind of like how the Plutonium and XLABS clients exist for the older call of duty games

1943 was fun it was like a hop into some ww3 battles it was like bad company 1 and bc2 combined into a WW2 game

I hate their gonna shut it down I played this back in 2014 as a kid, and still play Bad Company 1 and 2, I was never into modern warfare.
😢 With the revamp of the COD servers, this may come back at some point. Not sure if EA still wants to keep the older franchises alive. Spent MANY hours online and in campaigns on both. Still play them both to this day.
I want Microsoft to buy EA and do the same thing dor these games that they did for the old cod games
I'm only 16 so I only got to experience bc2 in it's prime when I was like 7 but I remember when my dad got me bc2 and I fell in love, I always said I loved bf3 the best but when I revisited bc2 2 years ago I fell in love again, this is the worst news ever man, and I just got bad company 1 like half a year ago and now it's gonna be gone...

i mean they can shut down the multiplayer. but cant play the game? i tried just playing it again recently for nostalgia reasons and i couldn’t find it in my library, so i went to go look for it in the game store and it said NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE?!?! what?!? thats insane but yet i can still hop on dead space 2 and crysis 3 and they also said their servers were shutting down too. come on man wth, i loved the campaign of both bc1 and bc2 it was so good but wtv ig

When this game was at it's peak I thought the film grain looked good. Gave it a very distinguished look. On controller it played good, but nothing near Cod 4 at the time which was the hottest online shooter out next to Halo 3. Those three games were the holy trinity for me on xbox. I Still like the film grain, and really enjoyed this game. BC2 made it a lot more smoother plus you could ads for every gun iirc. Much more modern feel on that one and was a good intro to Battlefield 3 which dropped any kind of casualness/humor that the Bad Companys had. I will always treasure this game because what other game had this destruction. Watching this video I can just see the jank that the shooting had but you got over it back in 2008 because...it was 2008. People weren't as whiny and critical of games back then. There weren't a million people online making comparison videos and going extremely in depth into every single game. You just enjoyed shit if you liked it. Cod was as smooth as it got for shooters but all the maps were static in the sense of things you could destroy. So a little bit of jank and you can level houses..was worth it

I had no idea BC1 even had multiplayer. For some reason I thought it was a singleplayer only game. Then again I only played BC2 cuz why play any other FPS but still
For me it is really hard to decide what the best Battlefield is. Must be either: BF2, BF2142 or Bad Company 2.
So sad to see that server support will also be shut down for BC2.

Battlefield 1943 was the first ever Battlefield game I played. Hearing it shutting down along with Bad company, it's almost heartbreaking. I remember playing 1943 in when I was a junior in high school and loved the game so damn much. I used to mess around a lot the islands. Wake island was my favorite. Used to plant c4 and ambush players. I was there when I first tried the trial for the game and now I'll be here at the end. Had to borrow my sister's ps3 so I could enjoy it this year. Name is Specter_01 and I'm gonna try and spend as much time on this game. I'm so friggin emotional sorry
I can’t understand for shutting down this master pieces.. for me it’s one if the best games ever made. I will miss it so hard 😢 I think after the shutdown I will get my hat and never come back to play some games. BC2 was the only game that keeps me on xbox/ ps. I think future games will be more like 2042 and thats not my thing…. I will miss the times with the last good game Bad Company 2. Some

Vertan BFBC1 player here. The movement was weird back in the day, but realy shitty compared to todays standards. The difference between this game and BF2 was huge, but than again, shooters on the console were also very different from the pc counterparts. The graphics beleave it or not, were a big deal at the time. Specialy the environmental destruction and the way bullets impacted materials like wood. Blowing up walls was very new, specialy in a multiplayer shooter like Battlefield. Most of the shortcomings and clunkiness was fixed when they released BFBC2. The playerbase grew to because of the PC release and the adding of the Vietnam expansion. I like to compare this game to Project Gotham Racing 4. Arcade racing game, so not realistic in that scense, but the graphics are still stunning even today. Same goes for BC1. With the release of BC2, BF3 and 4 Dice was realy on fire.

Battlefield 2 was my favorite. But the bad companies were the peak of battlefield. 3 was the last really great one and then we dipped off heavy. Maybe we grew up? I miss being a kid and playing the bad companies
I agree with you . I did enjoy a few after 3 (loved 4) but they didn’t hit the same as bad company 1/2 and BF3
@@About36Greeks everything feels different now. I’m 29. Obviously life comes first now but man. Cod 4, bad company, gears 2. Those were the days man. Getting home from school and hopping into an Xbox party with your friends and just playing until bed time was different. Now I’m lucky if I game for a couple hours a week.

Buying a game and then not being able to play it. That's the future, ladies and gentlemen. NES, SNES and Mega Drive still running. Want to pay that? I sure dont.
That is the reason why I only buy disc versions of singleplayer games and games that support lan mode or at least split screen(otherwise I just get a cracked version).
The entire gaming industry is nowadays completely fucked and the fact that most games don't support a lan mode is one of the many signs.
The publishers not just want to make people forget about the time when their games were enjoyable they want erradicate the old games and pretend that they never existed.

They should have shut down the ps3 servers and not Xbox 360. Playstation 3 servers are always dead because they don't have backwards compatibility.
Only EA servers are shutting down you can still use project rome to play online.
