Thank you Monica for your coverage of this event. I am posting this comment on other channels as well. Hopefully Norway and other governments will view and also read comments. My only son was DF'd 10 years ago at the age of 22, and actually at the time said to me - "You have to disown me because I got made a life-altering decision to get baptized when I was only 15 years old. What did I even know at 15 years old?" He told me that he thought he was expressed repentance, came to every meeting for a year, then submitted a letter asking to be reinstated, and was told "he needed more time out". He was done, and he was deeply depressed. The heartbreak/grief I have, has ruined my physical and emotional health. I am in chronic pain and took anti-depressants for 10 years, and they ruined my health, and learned they can cause cognitive issues when used long term. I have tried to be a loyal JW, (for 50 years!) but, as of last year, I am done, too. If JW's need to remove unrepentant ones from the cong. to keep it clean, that is understandable. But mandating parents to "disown" their children... their shunning policy is not in harmony with the surrounding scripture context that WT builds their policy on. I believe God created mothers with unconditional love for children in our dna. When I prayed for understanding, I think God directed me to allow myself to go online and learn TTaTT to prove they are not God's channel for true worship. For years I sobbed and told my (elder) husband I can’t do it any longer, became PIMO in Jan 2025, but continued going to meetings with my (elder) husband, who gave memorial and circuit assembly talks last year. I stopped going to meetings 4 months ago, and he called 2 elders to meet with and try to help me. I told them honestly that I hate my life, and can’t shun my son any longer. It has also been frustrating to me that for years we have had family funerals, weddings, etc., and relatives who faded and are now drunks, smoke dope, and immoral are allowed to attend, and we even greet and hug them. But not if you are DF’d and no longer a witness. Its like you were penalized for going to the elders to try to get help, but if they “faded” out, they do NOT get penalized and can socialize with them. WT’s recent shunning changes only affects ones wanting to return to the organization, (ie: inviting DF’d ones to meetings and saying a simple greeting when they come). With all the online JW CSA exposure, and WT deceptions through years, who really in their right mind would even want to return?
We are sorry to hear your experience. You're right, the "changes" they have made recently are all geared towards getting people to return, not about allowing them and their JW family and friend having normal relationships if they choose to stay out. It's all about control.
Imagine being a JW in that courtroom and hearing your own religion lie about what they’re doing. Or hearing you don’t shun your relatives while shunning those same relatives in the same courtroom. The cognitive dissonance must be dialed up to 11.
@ Great Scriptures to back up the point. Watchtowers schemes and deceptions will be broken up. Jehovah is certainly not with liars. And, can you imagine an entire religion like Jannes and Jambres, so corrupted in mind that they think they can lie to authorities without consequence. Watchtower’s madness certainly is readily there for all to see. Keep em coming.

Shunning is completely subjective in the first place ......after 28 years we called it recreational shunning .....it kept us coming to the midweek meeting to hear who got the ax ...fact ....there is no real consistency to the axing method ......SO WHY NOT END IT ...BEFORE YOU GET SUED TO HELL 🤞👍☝️🙏💰💰💰💰
Exactly. This appeal should not even be happening. The sensible thing would have been for Watch Tower to accept the decision. Stop Mandated Shunning and other initiatives like it are not going away, nor are the victims. It's time to speak up and end the cruel practice of mandated shunning through legal and peaceful means.
Watchtower is so worried about their money.
They should be. If the court sees the truth behind their misleading statements they won't be getting any of it.
