Taylor started playing acoustic guitar when she was like 12. She started with the 12 string because someone said she couldn't do it and she wanted to prove them wrong. She can also play a 6 string, piano, ganjo, ukulele, electric guitar as you can see and maybe I am missing something. But I feel like an acoustic guitar is the most natural to her, even when she is talking to the fans, she is always strumming while talking...and she does that with a piano too, she is just playing some notes as she's talking about hte song she's about to play or whatever, those two instruments are just part of her at this point.
"Has she always been playing a guitar?" One of her first songs was literally called "Teardrops On My Guitar" so I'd guess that yeah, she's always been playing a guitar. lol
Original= dancing around in your room with your stuffed animals. Live= aggressively biting stuffed animals heads off and white fluff floating all around in the air. 🤣 The entire 1989 world tour is epic and worth a reaction to full performance. I love it.
My favourite thing about this duo is how she made the original version super bubblegum pop as the antithesis of everything the ex in question likes when it comes to music....... But then she puts on this full on rockstar performance and absolutely kills it. I feel like legally blonde had to have been an influence for the decision to give it a rock makeover. Just imagine Taylor being told she's not a serious artist because she writes pop and wears pink, all the real musicians are angry and play rock etc and I just imagine her walking off that stage & facing that person who says "you got into rock?" And she just flicks her hair and replys "what! Like its hard?" then prances away happily 😂
I love the story behind this song: “she called Max Martin and Shellback, two songwriters and producers whose work she admired, to discuss a possible collaboration. The trio conceived the concept for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" shortly after a friend of Swift's ex-boyfriend walked into the recording studio and spoke of rumors he heard that Swift and her former flame were reuniting. After the friend left, Martin and Shellback asked Swift to elaborate on the details of the relationship, which she described as "break up, get back together, break up, get back together, just, ugh, the worst". When Martin suggested that they write about the incident, Swift began playing the guitar and singing, "We are never ever......", and the song flowed rapidly afterwards. She described the process as one of the most humorous experiences she had while recording, and said the musical partners matched her expectations. An audio clip of her sarcastically speaking about breakups can be heard before the final chorus.”
She has played guitar since she was a young, young girl. She plays some of her songs with electric guitar as well, especially when she was on that particular tour. She’s multifaceted and can literally sing most genres, including metal. ❤️👏🙌
Pausing to say, Taylor has ALWAYS played the guitar, she wrote all her songs over her piano or her guitar. She’s good. Humor me, play the Paris live concert version of Death By a Thousand Cuts. She plays the guitar and the song….? Death by a 1000 Cuts.
Taylor mostly wore contacts in public, but glasses at home, especially when she was younger. She had lasik eye surgery around 2019 or so -- and Jimmy Fallon talked her mother into sending him video of her spaced out on the pain meds; pretty humorous. There are also some videos of her contacts slipping when she was onstage, and her having to reposition them in her eyes. So, any glasses she wore in the videos are probably her own, not props. Glad you did the original, but it might have been fun if you had done both of the different tour versions: on the Red Tour, she coupled the song with a circus/Alice in Wonderland stageshow, after her breakup with Harry Styles. Song was originally written about Gyllenhaal; she was in studio with Max Martin and Shellback to work on something else, when one of Gyllenhaal's friends stopped in to ask about a rumor they were getting together again. After the guy left, she ranted a bit, and they turned the rant into a song.
Great reaction to these awesome Taylor videos. Thank you. Taylor plays guitar and piano at different times at all of her concerts. She's been playing guitar since she was around 12 years old.
You should remember little Taylor thrilled when she got her first guitar for Christmas in Miss Americana. Also throughout that documentary all her writing scenes involve guitar or piano and she plays in Long Pond Sessions. As you know by now this song is about Jake G and how he kept playing her, gaslighting and disappearing until she had enough. I love the karma of the fact that two of his favourite indie bands he would disparage her music about were Bon Iver and The National (Aaron Dressler’s band). Fast forward and she’s making albums with Aaron Dressler (Folklore & Evermore and he’s stuck around as part of her core creative group ever since) featuring two collaborations with Bon Iver. Long Pond Studio belongs to Aaron Dressler, hope Jack G. who’s dating a 25 year old, is miles from that Oscar and is badly remaking Patrick Swayze movies (he is no Patrick Swayze) enjoyed the Long Pond Sessions film with some of his heroes looking up to the musical genius he belittled and mocked. I love Karma!
There are a lot of great live performances with her on the guitar available. The Grammy Museum performances and Live from Paris are available on RUclips.
Taylor started playing the guitar (12 string) at 12 yo; she played electrics on stage or videos right from the start. She also plays piano, banjo, and ukulele when the mood strikes her. She has done a lot of acoustic performances if you go looking.
have not gotten into Taylor Swift yet. I am a little (actually a lot) older but I do love P!nk and her music kind of follows a timeline of her growing maturity, My daughter turned me on to P!nk I went to her concert (then 2 more) and became a rabid fan. My granddaughters love Taylor, I just need to sit down and start with her music from the beginning to get a handle on it. I do admire and respect her as a person and artist and that is 75% of the journey. Thanks for the reaction-you got me started....
I love Pink too, and Taylor! Reputation and Midnights I would suggest if you like Pink, but Folklore and Evermore are my favorites, I hope you enjoy! Miss Americana is her documentary, shows a lot about who she is as a person and what her life has been like.
Just remember that if you're not vibing with any particular album's sound it'll change in the next one. Taylor's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're going to get and nobody likes every single kind of candy. Also the new album drops 4/19 so there will be plenty of reaction content then.
Good for you my friend. Her journey as an artist, a musician, performer and as a strong, independent female singer-songwriter is fantastic. Glad you're starting from the beginning. It's amazing the growth of each album. She is very much a visual artist. You'll find out as you listen. Wishing you a fun time with her discography and for sure grab lots of tissues cuz there will be moments in her music that will tug at your heart strings. Have a great time 😉👍
Honestly, I'd recommend *not* starting with her first album or older stuff. Everyone's Swiftie journey is specific to them, and you should start somewhere you'll like. For you, I would recommend a listen to Reputation (and the Reputation Tour) or Midnights.
You should watch Taylor's Tiny Desk performance or Cornelia Street and Death By A Thousand Cuts from Live from Paris, those are some great performances where Taylor plays guitar or piano. And then obviously some stuff from the Eras Tour, the acoustic set, Taylor's vocals really shine there
I think Taylor said in an interview that in the studio version she would make this one the catchiest, most annoying chorus ever so the guy (Jake Gyllenhaal) would never be able to get the song of his mind and he would finally get the message (they were NEVER getting back together). That's why the recorded version is sooooo pop and catchy. But I guess she was angry at him when she wrote it, so the Rock version sounds way better and to me it fits the song better than the studio version. It's amazing live.
Taylor is famous for starting her career always playing acoustic guitar She learned when she was 12 She can also play piano, electric, banjo and ukulele
I have been wanting taylor to do a rock album since she did the rock version of this 🫶 I love both btw its about Jake Gyllenhaal he notoriously hated pop so that's why it's originally pop
The first performance was from 12 years ago. Big difference in Taylor as a performer, today. And Taylor writes her songs on acoustic guitar or the piano before she does a big production of the songs. Check out her long pond sessions. Lots of great songs, in a totally stripped-down fashion. She is in a cabin in the country & talks about the songs as she writes & performs them & it's great to see 'inside' that creative mind.
You should watch her first live performance on the ACMs .. academy of country music awards .. she sings Tim McGraw.. playing guitar .. she’s known for years ! That’s my fav country song by her also !
She was playing guitar when she started in country music. I don't know much about her life, because although I have listened to some of her music, I'm not a swiftie, but she does play. She's like a rare breed, like Carrie Underwood and I say that because she does things that a lot of people wouldn't know she does, like drums. And she's awesome at it.
Taylor and everyone involved recorded this music video in just one single take. One and done! This music video is about an ex before the fame being a mega superstar. She was in the middle of recording another song when ex comes knocking and after she sent him away, she wrote this song.
During this song in the Eras tour dancer Kameron Saunders says “like ever” at the end of her speaking part. When overseas he says words in native language and dialect. It’s pretty cool.
You remember “Dear John”… she had a guitar around her neck. She started singing by all by herself with just her guitar. She can play 8-10 different instruments. She’s incredibly versatile and extremely talented. So glad you chose this live version. “Cornelia Street” in that same tour is just as amazing! We 🥰 Taylor. In the documentary, she was given a guitar for Christmas and 7-8 year old Taylor screamed to her parents: “I. Am HAPPY!!!” It was just so adorable. 🤗
You totally need to react to her Tiny Desk Concert: 4 songs just her, piano, and guitar. Also watch her phenomenal Grammy performance of All Too Well where she sings and plays piano. This woman can do anything. Always love your reactions. TY ♥️ PS. She’s writing and directing her music videos now and has written a screenplay. Also has written a lot of songs for other artists. Renaissance woman.
Isn’t it AMAZING to find out all these cool things about Taylor?! I think at my age…I just missed her. I was busy raising boys! But I’m all over it now!
"I like both of 'em. I just know they are never get'n back together...EVER."😆😅 Love it, you're awesome! *For more guitar I recc Cornella St. Live, Paris (acoustic) & Wildest Dreams @ Grammy Museum (another electric.)
Now I want to suggest the Grammy museum performances and also the City of Lover acoustic performances… If you want another rock style song, check out “I Knew You Were Trouble” from 1989… Or maybe “Haunted” from SNL or the Speak Now Tour? There are too many good choices…
She plays so many instruments! I’ve seen her play a lute, drums, guitars of all kinds, piano, banjo! I love her on piano most but my husband is a guitar guy.
Check out her performing her song Mean at the Grammys Her Tiny Desk Concert Lover Live in Paris Her performance of champagne problems at the Eras Tour There’s SO much of her playing instruments & singing bc unlike so many popular artists nowadays she can actually do it all ❤
If I remember right, I heard that the music video was done as a long shot one take. She's played guitar her whole career, one of the songs on her debut album is called Teardrops On My Guitar
Lol😅shes been playing the guitar since she was about 6 and got a guitar for Christmas, mostly self taught until a washing machine repair man came to their house to fix an appliance and Taylor got talking to him so then he taught her some chords and that was the start of it all!
Watching you actually start looking for Easter eggs and stuff! I think this is your ‘20-something’ video.. I have binged today whilst working at home 😆 I haven’t even started looking for Easter Eggs myself yet!! And I have pretty much listened to about 80% of her music this year after not taken much notice but knowing she is good and stuff. Hadn’t seen this live one… I love how the live irony of her trying to do a ‘cool indie record’ just for the fun aspect of proving she can do whatever she wants to do…. She could’ve easily gone down the Hayley Williams road if she chose to do that… just prove she is an awesome song writer and songs can transform into any genre and be whatever you want them to be…. Fantastic 🎉
My man she can play the guitar, Banjo, Piano, write and sing. Also just for fun just watch her do this song at the Grammy's and the song Mean at the Grammy's and it will make you laugh. They were both good performances!!
I am not sure if she can play an actual banjo, I do not know things about instruments but I think I saw several people say that she only ever played ganjo aka instrument looking and sounding like banjo but having the same strings as an acoustic 6 string guitar would have
She’s showing how high school girls talk about their relationships and how quickly they break up and get back together. Instead of talking to each other directly, they pass messages along through their chain of friends…
I love rock music. I hope the new album has some in it. We all know she can SLAY when it comes to rock. I've been saying for years that she is so metal. She a savage when it comes to her songwriting. If we were to go through her entire discography, we can pick out a couple of dark lines that one wouldn't think it came from Taylor Swift. One of them is my favorite line that says: "If I'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes too". Or how about: "And the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to fuck this up." and "There are so many lines that I've crossed, unforgiven." etc.
Ooh, if you want some of the all too rare footage of Taylor playing electric guitar, you really want to check out this live performance of Wildest dreams from the Grammy museum ruclips.net/video/OGDkg3QiJmk/видео.htmlsi=R7KUg56XWVlBSfeE Then there’s a whole series of vids showing Taylor in the process of writing songs from Reputation, including King of My Heart, which began on an electric guitar. ruclips.net/video/sPaeQ67TpgE/видео.htmlsi=o-zAc-T6Nq3aPnyR But she more often plays acoustic guitar and piano. Death by a Thousand Cuts Live in Paris: ruclips.net/video/-TJi3ITWV90/видео.htmlsi=72EutNvYmizqi0Xf You can see her playing piano in this Clean/Long Live/New Year’s Day mashup from the Rep tour: ruclips.net/video/s1o3iE_2yCU/видео.htmlsi=fAr7wBTcXv0dZ94X Then there’s her banjo playing days. If you’ve never seen her performing Mean at the Grammys, it’s also well worth reacting to.
Wait on a gosh darn second! You mean to tell me this man has been reacting to Taylor's music for some time now and has never known she plays guitar?! Oh my goodness. I'm gonna suggest two tracks for now cuz I know people are gonna add other acoustic performances as well: 1. "Wildest Dreams" from the Grammy Museum. ruclips.net/video/OGDkg3QiJmk/видео.html 2. "Death By A Thousand Cuts" live from Paris. ruclips.net/video/-TJi3ITWV90/видео.html
Umm actually she was in the studio when he called her, and she told her producer saying “we are never getting back together” and he said that sounded like the title of her next hit, or something like that. Could they have been recording the convo at the time and put it in the song? I never thought of that, but it’s possible! That’s how All Too Well (10 minute version) came about. They probably just keep the recording going just in case they catch magic!
I haven’t read all the comments yet …. But just in case no one has mentioned… this was shot in one take. That’s why she disappears every now and then coz she’s screaming to the next point and changing her clothes… 😂❤
#ABtheKreator Taylor has lasik surgery and her mom videoed Taylor still high in the meds and sent it to Jimmy Fallon I think. Look it up and react to it.. Hilarious!!! We do the same head movements. I love watching you react because of your expressions. Don’t play poker my friend... your face says it all!!!😂 8:39 she can play the guitar, I just don’t think this was the right song for it! Her live from the Eras Tour is hilarious with her dancers! Kam... his bro used to play for the Chiefs is featured!! Also AB, have you noticed how angry Taylor is VERY scary?
Gotta look at what album it’s from and that will help with who the songs are about. Yes some albums have songs about more than one guy but the Red album is mostly about Jake G
Ok... so in the past 24 hours ive watched all of your TS videos... and i have a suggestion... please do Everything has Changed (Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheetan) and The Joker and The Queen (Ed Sheetan feat. Taylor Swift) music videos. The music videos are connected and I'd love to see your reaction and hear your thoughts on it!!!
Swifties yall better shower this man in acoustic and live performances where Taylor plays the guitar or piano.
Taylor started playing acoustic guitar when she was like 12. She started with the 12 string because someone said she couldn't do it and she wanted to prove them wrong. She can also play a 6 string, piano, ganjo, ukulele, electric guitar as you can see and maybe I am missing something. She also played a drum set in the lover music video! idk if that counts though. 😂
@@rebeccavliet2011 yeah, I thought about that, but I think it was just for funsies haha, I am not sure if she can actually play them
Thank You ! I was thinking 8 y/o 😇
@@dianepivonka5349 I think she got guitar earlier than she started to play, she could've gotten her first guitar at 8
"Has she always been playing a guitar?"
One of her first songs was literally called "Teardrops On My Guitar" so I'd guess that yeah, she's always been playing a guitar. lol
Taylor plays acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, ukulele and piano.
God bless the person who requested this two versions together!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Original= dancing around in your room with your stuffed animals.
Live= aggressively biting stuffed animals heads off and white fluff floating all around in the air. 🤣
The entire 1989 world tour is epic and worth a reaction to full performance. I love it.
This song is about Jake Gyllenhaal. She made it super poppy cause he hates pop music 😏
Intentionally making a pop hit so he couldn’t escape it when in stores is the kind of genius revenge I aspire to. 😂
I LOVE when Taylor get's petty to annoy a target.
If you gonna call someone out on the bus they put you through then I say petty and annoying is a absolute must 🤣😂
My favourite thing about this duo is how she made the original version super bubblegum pop as the antithesis of everything the ex in question likes when it comes to music.......
When you said 2 for 1: studio and live, I prayed it was gonna be the Rock version. I had a feeling that you'd freak out. 😂😂😂
Coming to the comments immediately when you said "she play guitar?" Yessssssss AB! Look her up baby!!! 😂
What’s really cool about the music video is that it was shot in one, single steadycam take. Watch it again and notice that there are no cuts!
I love the story behind this song: “she called Max Martin and Shellback, two songwriters and producers whose work she admired, to discuss a possible collaboration. SO many people miss this. A one take is SO hard, and this one is so well done.
She's been playing the guitar since she was a kid. She plays the piano too.

We 🥰 Taylor.

At least she can take a break-up and make it into a killer song. It's something every female probably wishes she could do.😊

Better late than never! 😊
An excellent guitar and piano player. This is great and qualifies as Rock. I love it. You should also watch Trouble re-mastered. It’s a banger too.
Yes. She has been playing the guitar 🎸 she was a teenager. And she can play the piano 🎹 and the banjo 🪕.
Gotta hear and see the live rock version!!❤❤❤
"I like both of 'em. I just know they are never get'n back together...EVER."😆😅 Love it, you're awesome!
*For more guitar I recc Cornella St. Live, Paris (acoustic) & Wildest Dreams @ Grammy Museum (another electric.)
Now I want to suggest the Grammy museum performances and also the City of Lover acoustic performances…
If you want another rock style song, check out “I Knew You Were Trouble” from 1989… Or maybe “Haunted” from SNL or the Speak Now Tour?
There are too many good choices…

LOVE THE LIVE version of almost all her songs…I would give anything if Taylor would do a LIVE ALBUM 🎉 WOW WOW WOW I’d be listening all the time 🎉
Taylor plays a few instruments. Acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, banjo, and piano. She is super talented.
This needed to be a 3 for 1 with the new Eras concert version. 😍
You are a delight to watch 😊
I absolutely love watching you break down the different eras of her music. Your reactions are priceless.
A good live to watch (where she plays piano) is the wildest dreams/enchanted performance at formula 1
In Sydney there were 96000 people there, she has caused a 2.3 earthquake
I love that the taylor pen has become a thing for you lmao
Watching you actually start looking for Easter eggs and stuff! I think this is your ‘20-something’ video.. I have binged today whilst working at home 😆

She could’ve easily gone down the Hayley Williams road if she chose to do that… just prove she is an awesome song writer and songs can transform into any genre and be whatever you want them to be…. Fantastic 🎉
She also plays the piano. She can do all
This was a one shot video. They shot the whole thing in one long take.
My man she can play the guitar, Banjo, Piano, write and sing. Also just for fun just watch her do this song at the Grammy's and the song Mean at the Grammy's and it will make you laugh. They were both good performances!!
I am not sure if she can play an actual banjo, I do not know things about instruments but I think I saw several people say that she only ever played ganjo aka instrument looking and sounding like banjo but having the same strings as an acoustic 6 string guitar would have
@@adabadoskova2915 thank you I learned something because I never heard of Ganjo before.
@@JesseMadrigal-q4z yeah, I learned about that also quite recently. I think that officially it's called "banjo guitar" or something
Guitar, piano, banjo….you should review “Mean”. Banjo vibes. 👍🏻
Love your reactions ❤
She’s been playing since age 8,
I think ! 😇
Imm so happy to be a foller of her and now I'm a huge fan of yours, you are always on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
She’s showing how high school girls talk about their relationships and how quickly they break up and get back together. Instead of talking to each other directly, they pass messages along through their chain of friends…
I definitely prefer the rock version❤ so happy you are reacting to this😊
You make my night ur the best at braking down ts videos
She's always played guitar. That's how she wrote most of her early albums.
I want a rock album from Taylor.
Not only is it about Jake G, she purposely made it as pop as she possibly could to be sure it would be overplayed and he couldn’t ignore it. 😂
Ooh, if you want some of the all too rare footage of Taylor playing electric guitar, you really want to check out this live performance of Wildest dreams from the Grammy museum

Then there’s a whole series of vids showing Taylor in the process of writing songs from Reputation, including King of My Heart, which began on an electric guitar.

But she more often plays acoustic guitar and piano.
Death by a Thousand Cuts Live in Paris: ruclips.net/video/-TJi3ITWV90/видео.htmlsi=72EutNvYmizqi0Xf
You can see her playing piano in this Clean/Long Live/New Year’s Day mashup from the Rep tour: ruclips.net/video/s1o3iE_2yCU/видео.htmlsi=fAr7wBTcXv0dZ94X
Then there’s her banjo playing days. If you’ve never seen her performing Mean at the Grammys, it’s also well worth reacting to.
"has she always played guitar?" had me rolling
Wait on a gosh darn second! You mean to tell me this man has been reacting to Taylor's music for some time now and has never known she plays guitar?! Oh my goodness. I'm gonna suggest two tracks for now cuz I know people are gonna add other acoustic performances as well:
1. "Wildest Dreams" from the Grammy Museum.
ruclips.net/video/OGDkg3QiJmk/видео.html
2. "Death By A Thousand Cuts" live from Paris.

Excellent choice.
It’s a little disappointing you haven’t realized she plays piano & guitar, up to a 12 string, thus far 👀 10:06
Love your humor
Umm actually she was in the studio when he called her, and she told her producer saying “we are never getting back together” and he said that sounded like the title of her next hit, or something like that. Could they have been recording the convo at the time and put it in the song? I never thought of that, but it’s possible! That’s how All Too Well (10 minute version) came about. They probably just keep the recording going just in case they catch magic!
I knew you were trouble from this tour is just as good IMO.
it is
If you look the clip Christmas Tree Farm you'll see when she recive her first guitar from Santa Claus she was 5 or 6 years old
Time to go back and listen to Teardrops on my Guitar LOL
I haven’t read all the comments yet …. But just in case no one has mentioned… this was shot in one take. That’s why she disappears every now and then coz she’s screaming to the next point and changing her clothes… 😂❤
We need a rock album from Taylor!
I think I remember them saying this video was shot in one long take
#ABtheKreator Taylor has lasik surgery and her mom videoed Taylor still high in the meds and sent it to Jimmy Fallon I think.
She plays a bejeweled guitar in her song “Our Song”
Great Singing ! 😇
Was the scarf a clue?
how did you not know that taylor plays guitar????
Paramour vibes but makes sense cuz she’s friends with Halley
You are lost where have you been lmao 🤣 re: her playing the guitar
Gotta look at what album it’s from and that will help with who the songs are about. Yes some albums have songs about more than one guy but the Red album is mostly about Jake G
AS, lol Taylor Swift has played guitar since birth Sir!!! lol
Check out the Ray Stevens song, "Taylor Swift Is Stalking Me"... I think you will like it...
Saw this live! Awesome!
She plays drums, lots of guitars piano, keyboard and violin
Love❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
She’s played guitar for almost 20 years
❤️❤️❤️❤️
She plays guitar. She plays piano, and I think she plays ukulele.
She’s been playing guitar since she was a child
Ok... so in the past 24 hours ive watched all of your TS videos... and i have a suggestion... please do Everything has Changed (Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheetan) and The Joker and The Queen (Ed Sheetan feat. Taylor Swift) music videos. The music videos are connected and I'd love to see your reaction and hear your thoughts on it!!!
PS Love the rock version, waiting for the day we get a rock album!
