@@elingrrr I think this is just a theory cuz I haven't read this in any of the books. A cool theory but just a theory nonetheless. It should also be mentioned that the sacrifices Dany used for the dragons - in my theory Viserys, Drogo and Mirri Maz Duur - were needed because her dragon eggs were effectively fossilised. They were dead. At the height of their power, pre Dance era, the Targaryens would lay an egg in the crib right next to their children to begin the bonding between Targaryen and dragon as early as possible. *That* is in the books.
she had dreams about how to bring them to life just like how aegon the conqueror dreamt of the long night. even if she wasn’t the princess that was promised she was one of the most important targaryens out of the whole bloodline.
No the problem was that the eggs had turned to stone. It took ending a life to wake them up. In this case, the godswife who had messed up Drogo. The one they had tied to the pyre. I think normally the mother dragons just warmed the eggs with their fire.
My favorite part about Daenerys is that she doesn’t constantly tell everyone that she’s a dragon (like her brother). Sure, she tells people when she needs to, but she doesn’t say things like “You have awakened the dragon” or cringey stuff like her brother did. Not only is she not that kind of person, but she also knows that if she wants people to follow her and believe in her, she needs to show people her intentions, not just tell them. Hence why she showed everyone that she is a dragon, and didn’t simply tell them.
I agree and in the books when she says someone "woke the dragon" it is because someone harms her children. The first time she says it is after the assassin tried to kill her and her son. Then she says it after someone harms the slaves she considers her children.
What is missed by many is the shape of the Dragon Eggs. They look similar to a young Pine tree cone. Its petals are closed, until FIRE opens them up so they can send their seeds to procreate. George R. R. Martin knows his stuff.
Even though this beautiful actress was naked, the comments were all about her survival and the baby dragons, not her nudity. That's when you know the show is good.
One of the best segments of the first book is when the three remaining members of Dany's khas - Jhogo, Rakharo, and Aggo - who previously refused to become her bloodriders because she was a woman in turn kneel before her and name her "Blood of my blood".
Obviously Emelia Clarke was never going to shave her head for the role, but in the books, Dany did lose her hair when she stepped into the Funeral Pyre.
I doubt they asked her to shave her head. She might have done it. (Depends on whether she had had her aneurysms by this point. She had TWO during the making of this show. Almost died. If that happened before they filmed this scene that'd be why they didn't show her head shaved. She would have had surgical scars.)
In the first novel, Dany had premonitions of the return of dragons ( Many past Targaryen members had prophetic powers) and she sensed pulse and heat in the stone eggs. Also, her hair is burned off in the funeral pyre. The Red Comet and the sacrifice of Mirri Maz Duur ( a form of blood magic, a life for a life) were also keys to hatch Rhaegal, Visserion, and Drogon.
