  • First trip of the year, I was able to get away with Rob and his Defender 110. We had a blast on the trip, beautiful weather and great scenery but by far the best had to have been Aurora Australis. We never knew it was happening and sighted it simply by chance but dam it was amazing!

    wow Jono! Amazing scenery! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I think one day you should offer tours to those who don't have their own 4WD to experience trips like this! Would be epic :D

      Funny you should say that - I've just left the tour guide life after 6 years of being a 4WD tour guide to focus more on the channel haha but I like your thinking mate!

      @@4X4MonthlyNZ Nomad Safaris? ;) I've done the Skippers Canyon tour and Macetown is next on my list. But this track looks AMAZING! Shame I never got the opportunity to take one of your tours!

    Very cool , access up there public or permission ?

    • @4X4MonthlyNZ
      @4X4MonthlyNZ  Год назад +1

      Public access but the true left of the river is Rees Valley Station and true right is Mount Aspiring National Park. So you really only have access along the 'Queens Chain'.

      At the time it was summer, so pretty mild to low river levels

    Do you drop pressures doing this sort of 4x4 ING?

    • @4X4MonthlyNZ
      @4X4MonthlyNZ  Год назад +1

      I will drop pressure on any and all types of 4WD roads. Once I got the compressor it was just far more comfortable and more traction to simply drop the pressures, even on the easier stuff.

    • @CGStreat
      @CGStreat 4 месяца назад

      what do you drop the pressure too typically on trip like this please? @@4X4MonthlyNZ

    • @4X4MonthlyNZ
      @4X4MonthlyNZ  4 месяца назад

      @@CGStreat generally I will drop to 18 PSI and never had an issue. Huge comfort gains from going to that pressure and if doing sand driving I would be inclined to go lower.
