Absolutely beautiful clarinet performance! A really great sound. Very tasteful and sensitive approaches to both the melody and the improvisations. Just great!

I want to dust off my old Selmer clarinet after hearing you play. Just beautiful Ted! The clarinet has been forgotten since the forties. Time to bring it out again!🙏😮

If this was recorded in 2017 I think I was there, what a beautiful performance of a classic. When you started by talking about Eli a bit, it was quite moving. Everyone did their thing. Hope to get back to Lincoln to see you again soon. Thanks for uploading Mr. Nash!

Beauiful music....I love your tone...the intonation is just perfect.....Do you remember what kind of mouthpiece you used on this tune...?

Thank you so much, Pascal. I believe it was a Vandoren B45. I remember realizing that it wasn't my favorite mouthpiece when the gig was over. I have two others I really like - B40-13 and B45-13.

Thank you, Mr. Nash. What I most enjoy and appreciate about the way you play clarinet is that you make every note count, even the 16th notes! There isn't any noodling around, or fast runs just for their own sake. It's a very 'musical' sensibility, and for me it best 'matches' what the instrument can/should do in jazz -- which is a sound-style that not many seem able to achieve on the clarinet in the modern (ie non trad/swing) style. In your 'economy' of note choices and melodic approach you remind me of the few recordings Lester Young made on clarinet, and the 2-3 that I've heard from Zoot Sims. Thanks again; please play and post more clarinet!
