I've read the book and it helped me a lot as a father of junior tennis player, it helped more than any book. Tennis is a tough sport, a sport that makes you feel miserable, lonely and unprotected, a constant fight and training to be competitive.
I loved the book, and nothing was really shocking. He was always very emotional and the drug part was when he was not playing. Tennis brought him back from the dead. Love you man!
One of the better interviews I've seen from his talk-show roundup. She did a good job. Still missing was the theme of friendship throughout his life which was so touching in the book.
I'm in the middle of his book "Open" and I'm riveted and I have so much more respect for him now than I did before and I've followed tennis for decades, played tennis myself and in my book this guys a genius and a hero!!🎾🎾
I enjoyed reading your book Agassi and its Ok to be OPEN once in a while shows the humility and true inside of a great tennis player! I on the other hand was not forced into tennis but enjoy the sport tremendously..I wish I had the support he did becaue it would have take me to a whole new level.
After reading his book about the upbringing he had, I give him a lot of credit. Seems like he's turned out just fine and is doing a lot of good for a lot of people.
Great interview. No constant interrupting and just let Andre talk. Very well spoken for a guy that didn't even finish freshman year in high school. One of the elite players of the 90's
This is an exceptional interview. I just read the book and she covered some of the most critical points in it, but weaved them together in an expert and graceful way. Well done.
@Wkng881 Whatever happened he was one of the greatest tennis players of all time, and had one of the most successful recovery's of any celebrity i have ever seen.
i have respect for the man. all these rafas and federers, in my opinion are totally ignorant to the fact that people have issues, and his book probably helped thousands of people who love andre to understand that they are not alone in their struggles.
I loved Agassi and always rooted for him against Sampras. Amazing he was one of the top 2 players in tennis, and certainly the more popular. And he didn't wanted to play tennis. And married to one of the most gorgeous woman in the world and a Hollywood star and hater his marriage.
@Wkng881 NO WAY! You think he would lie on national television for attention?? i agree that passion drives talent, but so does pressure --- someone may hate, say, basketball, but be forced to play it constantly, and practice everyday, all day. You are saying they would not end up good at it? i think that he was pressured into playing tennis all of the time, and that led him to be, in my opinion, the best tennis player to ever live.
I haven't used drugs, but I hear that crystal meth is one of the most addicting drugs out there. People say you do it once, you're as good as dead. How in the world did he stop using it?
what an absolute legend, you can compare Djok, Fed and Nadal for the GOAT but they never got near this guy in terms of flare and style. If only he'd had the passion and drive from within, I could see at least 10 to 15 more Grand Slam titles
Yea a lot of us work crappy jobs because we choose to eat. I always liked Andre but come on. How many people worked their ass off for what he did and never get to his level.
I probably will get slack from my observation but this is now the 21st Century and Andre and Steffi are in a marriage of convenience. The book title should be about openness in the more transparent way.If both of them aren't gay they missed their calling! They don't have to hide and I am not saying this to start controversy. They both should be proud as Martina and Billie Jean etc. Are!!
I am appalled that the host would say.....and then you got away with it LYING TO THE Tennis Association. about DRUGS!!!! then she goes on to romatixize his approach to Stefi Graf , bing a predator and maniu;ating her when she was with someone else , ugh. this guy is a junkie.
I know one thing, this man is still not sure of what he is saying. At the same time he desperately still seeks attention. Some take an eternity to grow up. Its because of the tennis that people are listening to him even today. He not only became one of Tennis' greats but also went on to marry a tennis player, virtually surrounding himself with relics of that past. Ever watched someone break-down like a baby on retirement from a job they hated? But for him its "oh so sad to be me" Oh yeah Whiner!
i dont see any honesty at all in this man Andre has been given a long time to explain how and why he did in the past, The man sat down with a narrator and adjusted all the pieces of the puzzle to self answer all the damning questions that were to follow Watching him when i was young admired his fighting spirit but as you get older nothing really is what it seems
Federer is indeed graceful and a great athlete. Does he not appear arrogant to you? I study his court behavior and his scowling countenance turns me off - same story re: Nadal. Djokovic I find to be more of a gentleman and good sport.
I feel for Andre..he's a very emotional, insightful, deep person who has issues like so many people do..
I appreciate his honesty. Always enjoyed watching him play.
Just finishing 'Open'. What an excellent book - compulsively readable and superbly well-written. Bravo Andre.
@MUFC It took you EIGHT years to come up with that reply? LOL. Football, like every other sport, is pretty much irrelevant at the moment.

loved the book. It's forced me to look at myself as a father, to see how much pressure i'm putting on my child. Agassi is alright in my book, good man
My favorite men's player. I can listen to the brother all day. He's so cool.
One of the better interviews I've seen from his talk-show roundup. She did a good job. Still missing was the theme of friendship throughout his life which was so touching in the book.
he had quite the network - and these people stood by A. through all. If he were a dirtbag they would have deserted him… is my guess
He was really fun to watch. His head is very shiny.
And he is a racketeer. They are going to be arrested for fraud. Illegal business practices
Head shine 🤣👌👍
I'm in the middle of his book "Open" and I'm riveted and I have so much more respect for him now than I did before and I've followed tennis for decades, played tennis myself and in my book this guys a genius and a hero!!🎾🎾
i almost finished the book. its simply fantastic

Thanks ! Andre !GOD bless you and great beloved family !.
Great interview, she is very skilled. Awesome autobiography too - really enjoyed reading it.
Andre is awesome

I’ve read this book multiple times I’ve the years. To me it’s an amazing read and he’s so relatable. Many ups and downs.
The autobiography is very, very good.
Great book.
I agree...I only hope to meet him one day!
Miss warching him play in professional circuit. Stay blessed sir.
This is incredible. This is human. This is rare...
one of the greatest men walking the planet!
Difficult to not like Andre after watching this video.
You are most handsome and most charming person 💕 Andre !.
I remember him throwing the match with Chang. I watched it and I just knew something was off.
It's kind of crazy to think he won Wimbledon with a wig on. I mean that shows some serious skills.
The whole tennis 🎾 FANS world would love the " OPEN ! ! ! " !.
@Wkng881 Whatever happened he was one of the greatest tennis players of all time, and had one of the most successful recovery's of any celebrity i have ever seen.

Andre must be such a great dad so what if he did meth deep inside he is a good man
Daddy rocks!
Sure I see you do, good for you!
7:40 it's me right now...

That’s a sad story
The title of "❤ open" should be ! " Atonement " !.
Drugs: Don't do them... my advice
@Tony ha! That’s what I was going to respond 😂
I haven't used drugs, but I hear that crystal meth is one of the most addicting drugs out there. People say you do it once, you're as good as dead. How in the world did he stop using it?
sbeallvln It is not that addictive. You dont shake like by alcohol or heroin withdravals. It is 'only' psychological.
Easy to stop! Geezus, its called will power.
Read it...Andre is REAL...😊
what an absolute legend, you can compare Djok, Fed and Nadal for the GOAT but they never got near this guy in terms of flare and style. If only he'd had the passion and drive from within, I could see at least 10 to 15 more Grand Slam titles
you don't get!!! you totally miss the point of his reasoning for this book. you must be too young...or???
Shes telling the WHOLE BOOK! Good grief!
He must build a golden statue of his dad. Should it was not for his dad he probably would have ended up as a gangster in Glendale!
Shocked to see him completely bald.
His dad was a monster.
She needs to talk less. We have a superstar here
@TheLeilisa Not really , but it is still possible to succeed with that height ! I'd say 1.80 is the minimum in today's tennis !
@TheReddwarff100 i did
I'm surprised. He hated it.
Yea a lot of us work crappy jobs because we choose to eat. I always liked Andre but come on. How many people worked their ass off for what he did and never get to his level.
money made agassi write the book.
So what!!!
Stupid comment
Duh
No he didn't need it... he and Steffi had no financial woes. if so then maybe for his prep school and that's a great cause.
AGASSI IS BALD
BALD
BALD
very mature comment
He really dissed Brooke !!!!
Mrn Gkn how
Hated Brooke

The flawed hero, so Hollywood
His book sparked higher drug testing standards in the game. The essentially let him slide
John Iii Not really. The drugs were not performance enhancing. They almost destroyed him. I'd say he paid his dues.
F
Hmm yea, poor him, he’s worth 300 million dollars. Must be rough..
BS!!!

kim sim yup.
agree.. he is just bloody lucky married with Steffi Graf.
BS!!!
I did not like watching him play..... I liked watching sampras!!
Pete Sampras is the best screw Agassi
Actually, Federer is the best. Pete is also a twat. Agassi is beating the pants off of Sampras in life.
Federer is indeed graceful and a great athlete. Does he not appear arrogant to you? I study his court behavior and his scowling countenance turns me off - same story re: Nadal. Djokovic I find to be more of a gentleman and good sport.
J Djokovic more gentleman than Federer? You're studying something but not sure who the hell is lmao
He chose shy and ugly stephi over Brooke. Maybe there's hope for me.
Shy and ugly....shy maybe ugly ,no chance.
BS!!!!
Sad for your taste
Steffi is far beautiful & popular than fake Brooke.
