I've said this many times, but their music is so amazing when it's stripped down and simplified. All the alternative rock bands have tried to mix in softer, more elegant music into their repertoires, but SP's softer songs were always more beautiful than anyone else's.

this is a beautiful rendition of the original song. it's october right now, and this song goes perfect with the rain and the smell of dead leaves. Smashing pumpkins, for me, are the only band that truly bring me peace of mind. a perfect escape in my opinion. timeless music.
What a fucking guy. He is the definition of a true musician, not someone who takes songs written by writers for them, or raps shite over tracks written by other musicians. Billys music had presence, it's layered, complex and this video shows that he is a fantastic human being aswell.

For me Billy is an artist in the right sense of the word. He is not afraid to change ways, not afraid to take risks if he thinks he should. All that bullshit on Zeitgeist, "that it is not the old pumkins anymore". etc. Fuck! He is fully entitled to dowhat he wants, because he is just what he is: a great musician. I loved the Pumpkins then, and I still love them. Billy is not god, but should got ever want to take guitar lessons, I hope Billy will be his teacher ! Ha, ha, ha (just a joke)
I can't believe people criticize his voice. It may be nasaly, but our notions of the "right way" to sing were established by thousands of years of western culture, and brainwashed into us from birth. I really appreciate Billy's singing voice more than any other singer. Sure by the predecided notions of what is good singing, "Fallout Boy" or somebody might have a perfect voice, but I don't really think that's fair, because music is just so subjective in the first place.
