Thanks the video was helpful and seeing how the mechanism actually works connected to the maximum actually works I bought the truck on the back doors and the back doors either side would not open trying to free him up now they might it's trying to free him up now they might be too rusted being a 2001
What if the door is shut and the top latch is open but the bottom latch is not and is also rusted completely and won't budge? I've put wd40 on it and pb blaster and will not move. What do I do
So I have the same issue with my 04 GMC 2500HD my bottom latch on both side have curled inward. I’ve drenched it with WD I’ve tried pulling with channel locks, big flat head, two flat head from each side !! I’ve put a small chain inside the curled latch and tried pulling it downward needle nose, this sucker won’t budge .. I’m unable to bend the hook back down. Any ideas boss surly would appreciate any advice thank you for your video !!
@@89giantfan No, unfortunately I went to www.gmpartsstore.com and put my make and model info and found the part and orders two!! I Removed the bolts and replaced them it was so easy. Now my doors shut all the and can go through the car wash lol
Jaime A you have to just keep pulling on the door and jiggling it till it comes open and get a can of wd40 with a straw and just try to shoot it into the jam.
So my truck doors are jammed closed together and neither will open.... It's an extended cab. There was an incident that caused some dents do my husband took the panels off to fix the dents and the doors were fine. But now they both are jammed closed together. Help
sounds like something internally may be getting caught up not allowing the latch to release you may have to try and pull some of the door trim off and investigate.
Great Advice, Thanks
