      My friend was afraid of me coming over for the first time because she had been struggling with her mental health because her dad and sister passed within about 6 months of each other. Her husband asked me to spend time with her which I gladly did. She apologized because the house didn’t look how she hoped for it to. They have 2 kids. I simply told her as long as kids are happy and fed I didn’t care what the house looked like. We had a nice day and visit with each other and our kids had a nice playdate

      Love is the strongest, purest emotion we Humans have. Love is SO pure and strong that not even death can sever the bond that love creates.
      While we live, we have our religions and beliefs. When we pass on, we are limitless, without boundaries, and pure energy. I would think that, since love is the most pure and strongest bond we make with another person, that no matter the beliefs we hold while in our rented mortal vehicle (body), whatever in in charge of the Afterlife we believe in wouldn't be so callous and cold to keep loved ones apart.
      We as spirit, as souls, as pure energy are much more than our mortal shells. I fully trust that you and she will unite, wrap around each other, and love for eternity. Only a cruel being who hates love and happiness would keep true love apart. ❤

      I worked with families who suffered near to term pregnancy loss. Basically babies who died in utero or that had incompatible with life medical conditions and would die once born. These babies have to be born same as any other term baby, the majority of them are born via vaginal birth. I was the RN who assisted with these births and post birth care. It was in a quiet area of the hospital, away from any sounds of babies, and it was calm and we tried to make it as comfortable and loving as possible. The rooms looked like bedrooms, and we aimed at creating the least medical feeling environment as we could.
      So many people have asked why anyone would choose to work in such a place, but it was as you said, such an honor and privilege to stand at the chaotic edge of immense human suffering and be able to show compassion, and sympathy. To know that you have the ability and the opportunity to make someone's very worst day a little tiny bit more bearable.

She has a stepdaughter that was very attached to her when young and is selfish and sometimes cruel now... and is actually having her own health struggles that mean Nicole might not even have a chance to be a grandmother. Well, I am the baby of the family and had my 1st recently. I am determined that even though we were not always close, she gets to have some experiences with Dominic. I wish she could have her own. • @dantemaquiavelli9039

      @@glitterarmy89 Really, so what do you recommend, having a child without sufficient economical support and have him miss many opportunities and a good enough childhood just for the chance he can take care of them when they're older?
      People can decide if they are emotionally and economically stable enough to have children, and certainly shouldn't be shamed because of it.
      There's tons of kids under the care of the state because parents couldn't take care of them because of lack of economic resources, were too young/psychologically unable or just abusive.
      Children are great, they have tiny humans developing, and some people like them, others not so much. But they're also really expensive, counting for their schooling, food, doctors, etc and parents are also in charge making sure they're productive members of society.
      And while it's true the standards for raising a child are hight than before, we also need to remember that of a lot of people are living paycheck to paycheck, or without a huge amount of money for the end of the month. A child for them would either live lacking a lot of things, or just be taken away.
      Also, it seems to me pretty selfish to think a child should be born, no matter the place in life the parents are, just because they could take care of them when older.
      You just ignore the fact that to reach that stage parents have to raise that kid for at least 18 years with all the money and patience it takes. Things like these, result in huge amounts of mental health issues and a lack of opportunities for them.
      You're treating them less as the valuable developing humans they are and more like a crutch for your old age. And let's not talk about how if they where bad parents, chances are that kid as an adult will just cut contact with them.
      You know what's messed up? People who think you should just have children to take care of you without caring if they can actually take care of them, leaving us unstable and broken adults.

    Nurses who do hospice care are angels on earth. Two of my grandparents went through hospice before they passed and, I honestly think our nurses did more for us than they actually did for my grandparents. They made it okay for us to let go and say goodbye. You’re doing work that is incredibly hard, but ultimately wonderful for the families of your patients. So, thank you.

    • @mochibunnyan6556
      @mochibunnyan6556 9 месяцев назад +19

      @Minniemouse-fo7ip it's a kind of facility where patients with terminal illnesses can stay. They're usually much more calming and comfortable that traditional hospitals, and the reason they exist is to provide an environment where terminally ill patients can feel comfortable and relaxed while still ensuring that medical staff are close by in cases of emergencies.
      Hospice care can also refer to the care given to terminally ill patients in general, where the aim of care given is less of trying to cure their illness and more of making them as comfortable and taken cared of before the end of their life.

    • @ivyadair
      @ivyadair 9 месяцев назад

      @@Minniemouse-fo7ip Not rude at all! As @mochibunnyan6556 said, its basically end of life treatment. For patients who have terminal illnesses and have been evaluated to know that death is near, you can opt for hospice care. My grandfather had congestive heart failure and my grandmother had vascular dementia, both of those conditions have definite signs when a person is approaching the end of their life. My grandfather had hospice at home, which meant we were given medications and items to keep him comfortable - we even were able to rent a hospital bed - and a nurse came to visit us at first once every few days and then slowly every day, to finally she was with us for nearly her entire shift. My grandmother by contrast had it in a nursing home, which meant the nursing home staff were the primary carers and a hospice nurse came in every few days.
      Generally the idea is that you keep the patient comfortable and allow them to pass in a good way, free from pain and fear. You don't do things to extend life, you don't perform cpr or shock them back. You let them pass when they pass. As I said originally the nurses are also there for the families. My grandma was in hospice first and during her time in it she lingered for a lot longer than anyone expected. The nurse believed that she was still hanging on for her husband, my grandfather (the same one I mentioned above). He was absolutely dedicated to her, sacrificed so much for her and he didn't want to lose her. Our nurse is the one who was finally able to let him let her go. After he said goodbye to her, he got up to leave the room for a moment to catch his breath and she died moments later.
      Some people out there really look down on hospice care, they think its terrible that we let people die but I think it makes for a good, peaceful death and gives the people left behind the opportunity to say their goodbyes and come to terms with the inevitable. My other two grandparents had very sudden deaths and they were so so much harder for me to come to terms with.

    • @hannahschwindler1447
      @hannahschwindler1447 9 месяцев назад +3

      I can feel the pain she was in. I work at a retirement home and we have had several who have been on hospice and have a few who are on it right now. It is hard to see someone decline so quickly. But these nurses are there for the families and even for us at work. We become so close to these residents that when they pass it hurts us almost as bad as the families. When they come into our facility they become family. For a hospice nurse to be able to check on the individual one day and them be okay but then come back and the individual be completely different, that just takes a lot of mental strength to get through it.

      I was a very young mom. My mother, offering no advice or help, would rant at me because my house wasn’t spotless. It was clean, just chaotic with toys and shoes, etc. Soon, her behavior was so toxic and only added to my stress, I told her she could not come over uninvited. I had no intention of raising my children as she had. She was still unhappy and miserable. Her clean house did not fix that for her. Ironically, she died a hoarder. Turns out her house was only clean because she treated her kids like servants. Once we all left, she had no one to bully into doing her housework. Live your days fully by your own schedule. Raise happy children and let them be children. Occasional chores are fine, but the kids should not be doing the bulk of household work. Namaste.

This video made me bawl my eyes out I couldn’t imagine not getting my clothes stolen from my sister or my brother pestering me after a long 12 hour shift to play pokemon. I can no longer feel annoyed. I’m just going to appreciate every little irritating moment. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are truly blessed and gifted to have such good qualities at a very young age And to speak highly of your brother and your family says a lot about your character. Stay true to yourself regardless of what anyone says about you. You are much stronger than you know, and we love you from the bottom of our hearts and we don’t even have to know each other, but the love I have for you and the rest of the world is immensely, even when I get hurt by most people it’s OK I understand that some humans are ignorant but it’s OK. I had a moment like this. I was late for work and I live near a hospital and there was a car that pulled out in front of me. The lady driving the car was going about 5 mph and I was fuming in my car and finally, I got so mad. I run around her when I looked into her car. I saw a little child in a seatbelt all bundled up in the kid obviously looked really sick. I realized she was pulling out of the cancer part of the hospital. I felt like a monster. I imagine that woman was hanging onto every single second that she could be with that child. It was one of those moments that really hit home as to how precious time is. And how we shouldn't take it for granted.

At the time I didn’t have children and so I always took care of those services since the other directors found it difficult. After beginning my family the directors thought I was desensitized to child services but at the end of the day I’d come home feeling completely like crap. I haven’t been in service for almost 6 years because I’m raising my family and even though toys and clothes all over the place is overwhelming I’m still grateful

    I once asked my grandmother (An RN for almost 40 years. Now in her late 60s. Still working night shift 5 days a week in the ER. Feet and legs swollen 3x the normal size.) If there was ever a time she considered quitting nursing.
    She told me “Yes” and gave me the reason: When she was 28 years old and she had spent her nursing career assisting in the birth and delivery of babies. On a summer morning around 3AM a young couple in their 20s came into the hospital to have their first children. A set of twins, one boy and one girl. The hospital stayed short staffed so in the delivery room there was the doctor, 2 RNs (one was my grandmother), and 2 LPNs. That was the only staff available. Everything had gone smoothly until the doctor realized the first baby and probably the second we’re coming breech (feet first instead of head first). The doctor ended up tearing the mother’s tissue as he tried to remove the babies quickly.
    The first baby (a little boy) was pulled out non responsive and was quickly passed to the other RN and she desperately tried to get him to breathe (suction, patting, etc.). The second twin (a little girl) came out blue and was also unresponsive, and was passed to my grandmother… My grandmother and her colleague worked side by side, desperately trying to resuscitate both babies… The doctor was saving the mother’s life because she had been hemorrhaging since the first baby was delivered.
    After an hour and a half the team called it… Due to short staff my grandmother was instructed to take the babies herself to the morgue where they could be pronounced there (legally declared dead). My Grandmother carried both babies in her arms through the hospital. Each baby was swaddled in the blue and pink newborn attire and hats.
    My grandmother says the worst part of that entire day was her trip through the halls down to the morgue. Other patients and staff members all looking in awe at my grandmother. Asking “Awe may I see the babies”.. With tears in her eyes she had to say no because the babies were deceased….
    On a comforting note though: The mother recovered physically within a few hours and the couple was allowed to do something that was unusual for the time period: The doctor allowed the mother (to be wheeled in a wheelchair by my grandmother herself) alongside the father down to the morgue to see their babies and “say goodbye”… They were allowed one hour and they were able to hold and grieve physically with their children’s bodies.
    Once they left the morgue the mother grabbed my grandmother by the arm and said “Thank you for being the Angel that led them home.”.
    My Grandmother still has dreams about that day even though it’s been almost 40 years… She quit that hospital the same week and never worked in the delivery unit again… She became an emergency room nurse full time and dabbled in the OR when needed… She said “I never gave up nursing though because too many people needed what that momma called- An Angel”…
    She has been an Angel in so many peoples lives. Including mine but for different reasons. I’m sure there are so many people who were, still are, and always will be grateful that she never said “maybe I’m too young for this”… Love you meme.

      Beautiful story. My Mom was a floor nurse too... some days were unbearable, and toward the end, it was the new staff coming in that almost made her retire early. They were just doing the bare minimum. She would see so many people saying "that's not my job" or passing the blame. Only there for the money, really. She would see patients suffer, or family get treated badly because by the time something got done, someone was made to do it. Can you imagine if someone today said about taking those babies "That's not my job, someone else do it"... and those sweet angels were taken down by someone who didn't understand and respect what just happened? Nursing is a calling, for this very reason. It is so much more than a job. I am so glad your grandmother stuck with it when she was younger. She probably helped so many people than she even knows about. Thanks for sharing.

    • @PuffinPsychologist
      @PuffinPsychologist Год назад +5

      @@regina_filange2.0 Preach 🙌… Is this not the story of seasoned nurse’s lives everywhere? They get so excited to FINALLY have additional support, new staff that they can teach and distribute the work amongst evenly; Just for them to be below sub-par & honestly making our veteran nurses feel as is they could be doing it better themselves… *Most* (not all) of the younger/newer nursing staff comes in with only money on their mind. Not a caring bone in their body. Limiting their service to only what the paperwork ascribes to them. Leaving it up to nurses like your mother and my grandmother, who truly understands what ALL comes with the territory.
      As a nurse, you aren’t just there to check vitals, temperatures, and administer medicine. You are there to provide care… if you cannot provide care and comfort: IT IS NOT THE PROFESSION FOR YOU. Stop leaving the humanity side and “hard tasks” up to the seasoned nurses.
      My grandmother even at 70 years old works her withered body to the bone, for more than just retirement… She continues to work because she worries for the safety of future patients. She comes home unable to walk, body swollen, eyes dilated from the bright lights, slurring her words in exhaustion, scarred from tears of traumatic sights… all because that is her job.
      I’ve begged her so many times the past few years, twice while physically carrying her up her stairs to her bedroom while she cries in pain: “Meme please retire, I’ll help you financially, I’ll help you stay busy whatever you need…” & she looks me in my eyes and says “Baby I will when it’s time but God keeps telling me to keep going. To keep helping, this is what he put me here to do. And I won’t stop until he says I’m done”…. I am not a religious person. Nor am I Christian, but I believe her when she tells me this. My grandmother has definitely reserved her place. As much as she’s given for others… If there is a God then she will see them. She will serve at their feet for her good deeds. If I can even become a fraction of the woman she is, then I know I’ll be radiating greatness for years to come.

      My grandmother wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and remind everyone that this is a dime a dozen story many nurses have- And while there are good and bad nurses, remember that most are simply overworked and exhausted. So next time you find yourself needing one- Give them the benefit of the doubt and be as good a patient as you can be given the circumstances. She thanks everyone humbly. 🙏 ❤️‍🩹

I’m happy he says nothing on social media. This young woman did make you aware though, of real sadness, misery and loss: of children. I remember in the 1960’s my aunts baby boy died approaching 1 year old. She attempted suicide by putting her head in the turned on gas oven (that’s how we did it back then). She was found just in time. Eventually she had 2 more children but NEVER spoke of her bereavement, ever. So very personal and painful that you never wish to share it.
