Honor is always in a league of its own and this time, it's not different. I think currently, Honor 5 Pro currently holds the crown for the display with the most incredible specifications. Bought Honor 4X in 2016 and still have it here with me, running. Would be amazing to update the old one to the new one!
I just upgraded from a samsung a33 to this one and I'm absolutely happy I did! I have a toddler who is always zooming around the house and the motion sensing camera feature is a heaven send. I always use it and I get to capture really cool pics of my daughter mid-run/ mid-play. I also previously thought that the phone will be difficult on the hand (because of size) but the curves made it so so bearable they are actually really nice to hold.
The not so curve screen is much better compare to other devices. I don't really understand what's the advantage of having a curve screen other than making the screen look bigger than it actually is.

I have been waiting for some updates that give me a proper comparison to last years Magic 4 pro which I love as on the face of it the differences seemed relatively minimal....however clearly I was wrong. Although subtle I think it will be worth the upgrade. Love the motion camera feature.....and yes the screens are simply awesome. I was always a big Huawei fan so this seems like a return to everything that made those phones great before the nightmare started :) My only complaint with Honor is the limited committment to software updates and how slow they are compared to the competition. Magic OS definately needs some work to get it on par with the competition.....although I am still yet to see Magic OS 7.0 as there is still no sign of it on my Magic 4 pro! Cant wait for the full review!
the upgrade is worth it, the display battery camera are better, it s overall a better phone, and very good value for the money if you get the 512 gb version, which is the most frequent
Aside from the Xiaomi 13 ultra coming up I think this is the best looking phone in 2023, the symmetrical design just does it right, the motion capture is actually dope I think this keeps up with the iPhone capable of capturing fast moving objects. Also heard they are using a different type of tech for the batteries and the UI is less buggy compared to Xiaomi. Aside from that nothing else intrigues me until the full review and I'd love to know how long they support OS updates

Stunning piece of hardware despite the bezels appearing thicker this year as compared to last year's Magic 4 Pro (seems to be a trend with smartphone manufacturers). I do hope there's an Ultimate version coming.

Very good video. I think that a really good advantage honor magic 5 pro has is that the capability of switching its lens without changing the colours which is, definitely, a problem for other andorid phones along with shutter speed
My two favorite feature of this phone is the screen aspect ratio and the design. The screen looks a bit wider than the modern phones which are getting longer and narrower over time. With the design, Ive always disliked the circular camera design on the back but with the Magic 5 Pro, I'd have to say, they nailed the proportion somehow. Its a major design accent rather than an eye sore. Awesome work.
this has to be be one of my most anticipated phone arrivals of this year. It is impressive that they have managed to cram in a 5100 mah battery inside both these phones and i am sure that, this combined with the efficiency of the snapdragon 8gen2 will make this a productivity beast for creatives on the go
Hey man. Great review as always. I own the Magic 4 pro and it's packed with features. I've said that if the 5 would just optimise a couple of things, it should be the best phone hands down. Looks like they've done more than that. I know we live in a Samsung&Iphone biased environment, but if you loved Huawei, this one is for you and having the best feature ever on a smartphone at least for me...THE SEARCH SCOPE. Also it has a very rounded desktop mode, great multitasking on the device but also on a laptop and a million other things worth having that are not gimmicks.
Absolutely love the huawei to the point I returned my upgraded S22 and kept my huawei, tho now looking to upgrade my huawei p20 pro phone so would you recommend the magic 4 pro or wait for this 5 Pro?.. 😮

Firstly, it looks like it's a great phone, but also, the Magic 4 pro would probably get even cheaper. Also, I would advice to buy it directly from Honor's website and not from a reseller. I bought the 4 pro almost a year ago with 900 euros and got a deal with a smartwatch and wireless buds and both premium quality. If you would look at any Honor website (UK, Spain, Italy etc), you would see that they will have it sold with two items. This is the reason I got in sort of a fight with samsung users a year ago. 🤦♂️ Samsung was selling s22 ultra for 1200 with 256 gb storage. Honor had the 900 offer with buds and smartwatch, not to mention the 100W charger and a protective case. So, yeah, I'd wait. Sorry for the long story, but hope it's helpful.

FYI iPhone isn't the fastest photo capturing phone out there. Its the Sony Xperia 1iv. It can capture photos at 20 frames a sec.

The design reminds me of the old Nokia Lumia 1020 with that huge circular protruding camera bump and I kinda like it.
