the funny thing is that the main sensor is worse than the one in the 5 pro. in terms of being future proof i wouldn't go with honor in general, they are known for being lazy and slow when it comes to updates.
Thanks for the great video, i use for almost 1 year Honor Magic 5 Pro, it is a super device. I don't see any reason to upgrade it with Honor Magic 6 Pro, which is in some cases behind the 5 Pro. So 5 Pro is the best for me :)
I still can't decide between the 5 and 6. I'm currently using a 4.5 years old P30 and I'm really happy with it. Battery life is still amazing and the camera is pretty good but I think it's almost time to upgrade.

Honor will not dissapoint i also want to change i got the oppo find x 2 pro which is 4 years old its still good but yeah im also researching a lot i first wanted xiaomi 14 ultra but it has a realy bad cooling system so its a no go but the honor magic 6 pro looks realy awesome battery amazing cooling amazing look is cool the only thing i want to check 100% is screen

Thanks for the video ! 😉I don't see any reason to change from Honor 5 Pro to 6 Pro. Maybe next year, when model 7 comes out. However, the smaller sensor size in the main camera and the smaller optical zoom were not entirely beneficial in Honor M6P. I would also like to see a slightly smaller model because these phones are large and heavy.
Great video and many ppl waiting such video. I own Magic5 Pro and I definitely no need upgrade with Magic6 Pro which seems a bit unbalance on many things. The photos have some punchy but they seemed a bit no natural compare to Magic 5 pro in general. Also I did not like the idea of 2.5 optimal zoom on periscope camera. 3.5, 4 will be great. But overall, Magic6 Pro is a great phone but not the phone of the year which Magic5 pro was in 2023. Vivo 100x Pro seems unbeatable at the moment.
Oneplus 12 is also strong opponent for vivo, it depends on what do you expect from your phone. I'd say that Vivo has a lot better cameras, but Oneplus has at least slightly better everything else except cameras.
i also had the magic 5 pro and while it was,and stil is a great phone, it not all about the cameras!the magicos 8 is waaay better, with many new additions.and let's not forget that, in regards to the cameras, while the magic 5 has 1 year of updates behind it, the magic 6 is brand new, so this comparison is unfair to be honest!

If you like to watch something else then RUclips like Odysee or even use alternative RUclips clients like Newpipe the only way to go is the Magic 6 Pro as it does not stutter like the Magic 5 Pro at 120 Hz where it locks those apps at 30 fps for some reason. Great comparison. My camera comparison between them shows a slight win for the Magic 6 with 4.425 points against the Magic 5 Pro's 4.360 Major points the Magic 6 Pro got with a slightly better UWide cam + Tele cam and better colours and less oversharpening in video recording. The front camera with autofocus is also winning almost always and finally the camera ui has improved a lot with quick settings easily accessible with one hand like the timer (which is hidden under settings on the Magic 5 Pro). The latter Honor can update with software. As soon as MagicOS 8 hits the Magic 5 Pro it should be on par with the Magic 6 Pro in that regard.
i wanted the blue or white in magic 6 pro but in the UK not available, so i opted for the black as its matte black so no finger prints all over. The green just isn't doing it for me. I have a mate 4 pro and magic 5 pro and the battery difference is noticeable. I need a phone that can last more than a day as im out sometimes without a changer (yes i should take my huawei charger brick) But this is arriving on Monday 18th for me as there are delays apparently caused by huge customer demand. I will check it out for a few days and think if i should sty with M5PRO or keep M6PRO. I love to upgrade my phone every year, and as a huawei fan i can literally use a huawei phone with google services. cant wait! I think after updates the magic 6 pro will go much better. They just released a major update so lets wait and see what they did.

Guys, I like your channel, it has many great comparisons. But I want to tell you one thing that I'm sure is very important. Since many people use telelens on smartphone not only to capture something static far away, it would be great if you expand telelens comparison. Tele lens video, Tele lens in night mode, and capture "close" objects for nice photo effect. For me Telelens is much more important than main camera, but unfortunately I have very small amount info about it.
I once bought a cheap Honor. Its night photos blew me away, it was years ahead of popular flagships. Nowadays it is a nuance for nuance race, the one with is easiest to use and has the best post processor is what not only shines but wastes the least amount of time.

@@serrael-182 But it's 180mp. I see what they've done. It takes good pics up to 30x but it also manages to take good zoom pics in low light where the magic 5 wouldn't be able to. The trade off seems to be that you can take zoom shots in more scenarios with the magic 6 even in low light but only really up to 30x. 100x on most phones is pretty unusable really. I'll take the 30x and be able to also zoom at night. So I guess in a way the magic 6 improved just with a different set of priorities for zoom.

Overall 6pro is better than its predecessor especially in terms of display quality, screen protection and battery life. If honor has the service of exchanging its phones with good offers, why not to try the new version. If both the 2 latest models of Honor and Oppo aren't worth upgrading then what should I choose, the Honor Magic 5 Pro or the Oppo Find X6 Pro? I'm buying a new phone for daily use. I don't play games, and I also don't take photos often. I only need smooth using experience, a high quality build, a beautiful screen and a good battery.
As I was afraid, they barely improved anything ...followed the trend to make it not enough to switch from last year. The worst of all - portrait is still unusable, since you can't change it/turn it off AFTER the photo is taken, so I never dare to use it. Too many photos were permanently ruined that way. ...other than that 5 is a magnificent phone and really pleased with everything else, so I assume 6 is as well, but you could save some cash and get 5 instead without losing pretty much anything.
I think i dont need to upgrade my honor magic 5 pro to 6 pro. Maybe my mistake would happen twice when i upgraded my Oppo find X6 pro to Oppo Find X7 ultra
Coming from S23 Ultra, Honor Magic 6 Pro has some advantages but also a lot of disadvantages... Advantages: - good display that's not getting your eyes tired; - amazing battery life( with s23 ultra I couldn't pass the 5h SOT, while with Honor I have easily 8h); - good amount of customizable things; easy to use interface(100% copy from Huawei); and now the bad parts: - camera quality it's really bad compared to s23 ultra( I could zoom and no quality degradation happened due to 10x optical zoom--> you can;t beat optics and fool with sht AI); - video quality it's really worse due to EIS instead of OIS , here scamsung was the king; - fingerprint sensor it's placed in the down part of the screen and it's really hard to unlock it; - face unlock sometimes works sometimes not, it has the advantage that's working even in the dark, for the scamsung it was needed a really bright screen to achieve this; - really slow software support, just image that honor magic 5 pro didn't even get yet a14... - really slow HW replacement if you have warranty issues(at least in my country - Romania) I hope that Magic 7 pro will bring a at least 5x telephoto, better software support, and improved aftersales support.
M5Pro at 690 is amazing with 512gb. I like it a lot, but.. Honor is waiting too much for the update to Android 14 (MagicOs 8). I know they need to do more atractive the new 999 phone but.. Its not fair to the other customers and leave a bad reputation about the upgrades. BtW the new 6pro is nice but I wait until they sell at 699 like the 5 pro after summer.
The Magic 6 will improve. It is a very new phone in the market. The Magic 5 pro has gone multiple updates to its software already. Lets just wait what the Magic 6 pro has to offer for the upcoming update for its camera.
what annoys me is that the 6pro is kinda a downgrade when it comes to the main camera sensor, it is smaller and thus captures less light and has less natural bokeh. yes it has a variable 2-step aperture but even in f1.4 it can't really keep up with the 5 pro whith its 1.1" f1.6. the tele seems to be greath though, even if it has "only" 2.5x optical compared to the 3.5x of the 5 pro, it has a 1.49" tele-sensor and a bigger aperture on top, so it should be very good for portrait shots without crappy fake-bokeh and also in terms of product photography it should be awesome. if it wasn't for the smaller main sensor i'd probably upgrade, but i guess i'll keep the 5 pro for another year and wait for the 7 pro.
But in my country I can buy a new 5pro for 515€ with earbuds 3 pro as a gift, while the 6 pro coasts 1300€.... So question if you choose one or the other doesn't make any sense
Magic 5 Pro has a terrible zoom camera, it is just a dumb gimmick, photos are watercolor paintings. The front camera is complete crap, even compared to my 3 years old Huawei, so you buy a flagship phone with only one usable back camera which is nonsense! I am so disappointed and will never waste money on this dumb company's products ever again. Skip this crappy brand at the flagship level, just buy cheap Honor phones, for flagships, go with Samsung and iPhone.
Don't think the upgrades are big enough to warrant changing the 5 pro to the 6 in a lot of areas the 5 pro beats the 6 especially in the zoom category at 100 times zoom on that cat on the roof she does the 5 was a million times clearer so dunno whether she blind or whether honor sponsored her to say it was close 😂
Again, next unprofessional detailless review. About stabilization only 10 seconds in Video ! But this moment is most important for both smartphones. And totally makes both of them bad for choose. Because of electronic stabilization for video is not available to turn off for all cameras! This makes narrow angle view, decrease of quality in video. Really very bad video quality. Specially for ultra wide camera. I use honor magic 5 pro for 1 year. And very disappointed with video quality. Exactly because of electronic stabilization. Foto are twice stable too. With optical and electronic stab . with lower angle view. None of bloggers tells about it.
@@jemmy9255 Actually s23 ultra is a disaster in terms of camera quality, shutter lag and samsung color science kills quality completely, so it is easy to beat that. S24U is not so bad because color science improved. About iphone vs hm6pro, iphone got better colours, better edge dectection, more natural portrait bokeh, faster autofocus in photo or smoother in video, stabilization also better, higher video detail, hm6 pro is only sometimes better at 2.6x zoom in dim conditions, because of biggest sensor, but still software can't get all potential, so good specs wasted by software failure.
I prefer my OnePlus 12, it's a better phone for me. I want that lunch you had more than any of these phones. 😅😅 Surprised you call this a community when you never personally reply to any comments. 😂😂

I enjoyed the video! I will go for the 6, because of the pill in the middle and the one year more update. Even the cam in some areas is a bit better.

I also watched your video comparison of the Oppo Find X6 Pro and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. If both the 2 latest models of Honor and Oppo aren't worth upgrading then what should I choose, the Honor Magic 5 Pro or the Oppo Find X6 Pro? I'm buying a new phone for daily use. I don't play games, and I also don't take photos often. I only need smooth using experience, a high quality build, a beautiful screen and a good battery.

As I was afraid, they barely improved anything ...followed the trend to make it not enough to switch from last year.
The worst of all - portrait is still unusable, since you can't change it/turn it off AFTER the photo is taken, so I never dare to use it. Too many photos were permanently ruined that way. ...other than that 5 is a magnificent phone and really pleased with everything else, so I assume 6 is as well, but you could save some cash and get 5 instead without losing pretty much anything.

Coming from S23 Ultra, Honor Magic 6 Pro has some advantages but also a lot of disadvantages...
Advantages:
- good display that's not getting your eyes tired;
- amazing battery life( with s23 ultra I couldn't pass the 5h SOT, while with Honor I have easily 8h);
- good amount of customizable things; easy to use interface(100% copy from Huawei);
and now the bad parts:
- camera quality it's really bad compared to s23 ultra( I could zoom and no quality degradation happened due to 10x optical zoom--> you can;t beat optics and fool with sht AI);
- video quality it's really worse due to EIS instead of OIS , here scamsung was the king;
- fingerprint sensor it's placed in the down part of the screen and it's really hard to unlock it;
- face unlock sometimes works sometimes not, it has the advantage that's working even in the dark, for the scamsung it was needed a really bright screen to achieve this;
- really slow software support, just image that honor magic 5 pro didn't even get yet a14...
- really slow HW replacement if you have warranty issues(at least in my country - Romania)
I hope that Magic 7 pro will bring a at least 5x telephoto, better software support, and improved aftersales support.

M5Pro at 690 is amazing with 512gb. I like it a lot, but.. Honor is waiting too much for the update to Android 14 (MagicOs 8). I know they need to do more atractive the new 999 phone but.. Its not fair to the other customers and leave a bad reputation about the upgrades.
BtW the new 6pro is nice but I wait until they sell at 699 like the 5 pro after summer.
I got the Honor Magic 6 pro y I had a Redmagic 8 pro Titanium, and a Xiaomi 12 pro, but honor feels premium. Can't explain it'. The brand won me over.

not quite a fair comparison in regards to the camera, cause the magic 5 pro has 1 year of updates behind it while the new model is...new.
The Magic 6 will improve. It is a very new phone in the market. The Magic 5 pro has gone multiple updates to its software already. Lets just wait what the Magic 6 pro has to offer for the upcoming update for its camera.

what annoys me is that the 6pro is kinda a downgrade when it comes to the main camera sensor, it is smaller and thus captures less light and has less natural bokeh.
yes it has a variable 2-step aperture but even in f1.4 it can't really keep up with the 5 pro whith its 1.1" f1.6.
the tele seems to be greath though, even if it has "only" 2.5x optical compared to the 3.5x of the 5 pro, it has a 1.49" tele-sensor and a bigger aperture on top, so it should be very good for portrait shots without crappy fake-bokeh and also in terms of product photography it should be awesome.
if it wasn't for the smaller main sensor i'd probably upgrade, but i guess i'll keep the 5 pro for another year and wait for the 7 pro.
But in my country I can buy a new 5pro for 515€ with earbuds 3 pro as a gift, while the 6 pro coasts 1300€.... So question if you choose one or the other doesn't make any sense

Magic 5 Pro has a terrible zoom camera, it is just a dumb gimmick, photos are watercolor paintings. The front camera is complete crap, even compared to my 3 years old Huawei, so you buy a flagship phone with only one usable back camera which is nonsense! I am so disappointed and will never waste money on this dumb company's products ever again. Skip this crappy brand at the flagship level, just buy cheap Honor phones, for flagships, go with Samsung and iPhone.

Don't think the upgrades are big enough to warrant changing the 5 pro to the 6 in a lot of areas the 5 pro beats the 6 especially in the zoom category at 100 times zoom on that cat on the roof she does the 5 was a million times clearer so dunno whether she blind or whether honor sponsored her to say it was close 😂

Again, next unprofessional detailless review. About stabilization only 10 seconds in Video ! But this moment is most important for both smartphones. And totally makes both of them bad for choose. Because of electronic stabilization for video is not available to turn off for all cameras! This makes narrow angle view, decrease of quality in video. Really very bad video quality. Specially for ultra wide camera. I use honor magic 5 pro for 1 year. And very disappointed with video quality. Exactly because of electronic stabilization. Foto are twice stable too. With optical and electronic stab . with lower angle view. None of bloggers tells about it.

@@jemmy9255 Actually s23 ultra is a disaster in terms of camera quality, shutter lag and samsung color science kills quality completely, so it is easy to beat that. S24U is not so bad because color science improved.
About iphone vs hm6pro, iphone got better colours, better edge dectection, more natural portrait bokeh, faster autofocus in photo or smoother in video, stabilization also better, higher video detail, hm6 pro is only sometimes better at 2.6x zoom in dim conditions, because of biggest sensor, but still software can't get all potential, so good specs wasted by software failure.
