I see what you were trying to do, telling the story of William, and the he came back represents how he was springlocked, and how he “came back” (he didn’t really, but in a way he did) as an agony manifestation of William, to represent how bad of a person he was.
Although he did come back after being sprinlocked because of the remnant. That's the whole point. Also, yea, of course you'd see what they did there, everyone did, considering Williams catchphrase is literally "I always come back".
