I am bummed I missed the live. I gave it three stars. I almost DNF'd because it wasn't for me. I was a quick read. I compare it to a Lifetime movie. Good when you want to be entertained but don't want to do any heavy thinking.
Amanda's POV wasn't complicated at all... if you ever saw Desperate Housewife where the narrator of the show killed herself in the pilot. Amanda's chapters that were After were her watching over everyone while offering her two cents about everything going on while the before chapters were about her thinking back over her life before she fell off the cliff. Pippa and Amanda were two completely different characters with completely opposite views on love/marriage with Pippa looking at the rosy side of things while Amanda had a more cynical/jaded view of things even before she died. In domestic novels, you have to read between the lines because it isn't always stated outright. I only read The Good Sister (Loved) and The younger wife (pretty much loved) so this book paled in comparison because I wasn't invested in Pippa's POV.
I missed the live but just watched the replay. I did not love this book and gave it 3 stars. I really enjoyed The good sister and The things we keep by her and gave both of them 5 stars so I will definitely check out her new book. This one just didn't hit for me. 😆
I'm bummed I missed seeing this live. I did read it and thought it was "meh" 2.5 stars. I do look forward to reading Riley Sager for next month.

I have to agree with the Mary Kubica comparison. I just finished The Other Mrs. recently and felt like they had a similar vibe.
