Czech Pirc is my main weapon against d4. I have a decent record with it. I learned it from the videos of NM Roberto Ramirez. It’s more effective when they play e4 rather than c4 after d4. However I got crushed by a 1950 rated (300 rated higher than me) last year in a club level OTB match. He went for the testing Austrian Attack (when white pushes e4, d4 and f4 ).

I think that’s technically an Old Indian defense

Oh nice! So you play 1. ...d6 and then hope for e4? What do you play against 2. c4 there? Do you continue with the setup? The "English Rat Defense" against 2. c4 might be worth looking into if you haven't heard of it yet.

@ Against c4 I continue with the same setup. It’s quite playable. Don’t you play the Czech Pirc against d4? It will be really useful if you could make a video on the same system against d4. Thanks for your excellent videos.

@@BM-hj6lq Well, it's technically not a Czech Pirc I don't think if you see the move of c4. there I might go with an English Rat, but yes this is a good idea to make a video on this!

I like this move order played by Akobian. But, can Black go on to play the position like a Black Lion with the queens bishop out on the kingside? Great video content as always. Keep up the good work. Best regards, eaHengest.

Hmm it really just depends on your style of play. If I had to personally pick between the Mainline Pirc Defense or Czech Pirc Defense, I would recommend the Czech Pirc Defense for a beginner chess player. Although it is hard to go wrong with the Caro-Kann Defense. I guess I have two questions for you...
      1. What is your style of play? (Aggressive, positional, etc)
      2. How much time are you wanting to invest into learning a chess opening?
      Thanks!
      Solomon

Thanks for letting me know! I wasn't aware of that. Maybe I could reach out to them and see if they'd be interested. Although I am curious too on how I would make another course as I have already made one.... any ideas are always welcome!
