Stray Kids are a group that doesn't have a genre of music, they compose what they want to compose. They also don't care much about what haters think. They simply make a song in response and, every time, those responses become big hits.
Stray Kids always tells a story in their songs, stories that involve the group or a member of the group.
It's complicated when someone reacts to Stray Kids and chooses the songs randomly, because there is a timeline that influences the understanding of those who don't know it.
This song is about the hardships the members have been through forever to get to where they are today, and they've been through a lot, but luckily for us Stays they can talk about it with good music.
LiSA is the queen of hit anime songs.
Japanese MVs do not have subtitles.
Asking a Korean group to do more songs in English is the same as asking an English or French group to do all their music in Korean. It takes discernment to know that the world has people who even speak and sing in English, but also want to sing in their own language. In fact, our leader Bang Chan was born in Korea, but he went to Australia as a child and returned to Korea alone at the age of 13 and had to adapt to the customs, the language and write songs in Korean. Felix, the boy with the deep voice is Australian and left Australia at the age of 17 without speaking a word of Korean. He learned the language in ten months and sings in Korean because he is in a Korean group, he lives in Korea, and although they also sing in English and Japanese, the boys want to continue singing in Korean too.
I'm very grateful that you react to Stray Kids, because we Stays like to know the opinion of everyone who listens to the boys, regardless of their opinion we just like to clarify some points so that everyone can know more about SKZ. Keep reacting and we'll always be available to answer any questions about our boys. Thanks!

i noticed that you didn’t think the deep voice matched the face and you’re right! 😂 that guy is named Felix and he has one of the deepest voices you can find in Kpop (he’s 23 btw)
he’s Stay’s sunshine despite his voice
I recommend God’s Menu (though i think you won’t like it much but will still find it cool)

you asked about the meaning of the fandom name.
if you take "R" ("Reason") out of "Stray" you will get "Stay". It means that Stays are the Reason for Stray Kids to exist and keep doing the music.
Plus at the end of most of MVs they have a phrase: "Stray Kids everywhere around the world. You make Stray Kids stay" - this is then a play on words. "Stray Kids everywhere around the world" also has a double meaning - one of them is that Stray Kids address to all people who feel lonely using their music, so they address to all (potential) fans around the world.

The song is essentially about the struggle to fulfill a dream. The first line in the song that also got repeated later sums it up. "Gave up my youth for my future". People attribute the song to the struggles the members have gone through to get to Stray Kids and make the group successful, but I think it can be applied to any aspirations that people have that make them stand out. There's another line in the song that goes "alien of the town, they want me to give up right now." It's like people telling you to stop persuing your dreams and be ordinary.

For harder rock I definitely recommend Dreamcatcher Vision, Scream, and Boca. They are a girl group though. I also recommend checking out colour coded lyric videos for Stray kids Superbowl english version, Levanter english version, T.O.P english version, and SLUMP english version. For Stray kids videos I recommend Lonely St. and Hellevator. For some more Ateez I recommend colour coded lyric videos for Dune, This World, Cyberpunk and Wake up. For more Ateez videos I recommend Halazia, Fireworks (I'm the one) and Wonderland.

@Savage-Reactions oh no problem. I wish I could recommend something that Angie will definitely like, but just based on how she's reacted so far I don't know if there is anything in k-pop she will definitely love. There's nothing wrong with that of course though. In the midst of your k-pop reactions if you do want to veer off into something she might like more, there is a Japanese rock band called One Ok Rock that I have heard many good things about, that has been on my own radar but I haven't checked out yet. Might be something else to check out at some point too.

You should give Stray Kids another try. They have two recent songs, Come Play and Falling Up that could win you over. Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine is featured on Come Play. Falling Up has a bit of a rock feel. Seungmin has a lot of range to his voice. If he sounded nasally on Social Path, that was a vocal choice and not something he always does.

Listen, I'm a stray kids fan and love them. However, I don't think any song that has been recommended in the comments is going to be one you like. Honestly, I don't care for this song. I also do not (typically)care for female singers - I'm with ya on that. I thank you for trying again, and i absolutely love that you are completely honest in your reactions, and by all means, keep trying if you wish, but I just don't think the K-pop genre will ever be your thing. And that's absolutely okay. 🤗

If you still haven't given up on Stray Kids, maybe try their earlier songs, all the way to their debut, they are much more energetic & hard hitting. Hellevator, Double Knot, District 9, Voices, Cheese are a few of them. Or try God's Menu.
By the way, the singer on 6:36, his name is Seungmin & he doesn't usually sing like that (nasally) I have no idea why he sounded like that in this mv, cause if you check their Venue101 performance for this song, he sounds normal (not nasally).

So I feel like you might not like Stray Kids too much, and that's fine everyone has different taste. They do have alot of hip hop influence, personally i listen mainly to rock but as for Kpop i only listen to Stray Kids since they are more on the experimental but i really like them.
just as fyi is they are kpop you won't get alot of english songs, probably a few. (you might want to watch the lyric videos so you can see what they are talking about.
If you want more rock influence i would suggest
Battle Ground, Slump, Awaken, Booster, The Sound, Rock, Voices

that's Ok if you didn't like the song that much.
I would recommend you to check out "side effects" - I wonder if you would like that one.
They have 2 fully English songs (both released in June 2023): "super bowl" (be careful, there is also a japanese version, which has an MV, the English version is without an MV), "youtiful" (this one is a ballad, has MV).
the following songs were first released in Korean, but also have English versions, be careful with music videos if you only want to check out the english version (listed in chronological order): "double knot" (has a performance video - not a proper music video but a video where they just dance, Korean version of the song has a proper MV), "levanter" (MV only for the Korean version), "top" (MV only for japanese version), "slump" (no MV), "domino" (no MV).
For songs without MVs I recommend checking out so called "lyrics videos" - fans post videos, where you can see the lyrics (for me personally it is helpful even for english versions, because I am not an English native speaker and the rappers are too fast), moreover group members are highlighted when they sing their part. sometimes such videos have unrelated music at the end - people do it to not be copyrighted.

Couple things here, and she's the one who doesn't really like hip hop. David doesn't mind hip-hop. We react to stray kids because subscribers and fan base really like to hear it, and we like to provide reactions to things that people like to hear for the most part. Angie is not generally a fan of female singers, and we feel like female singers who you can't even understand the words that they're saying is probably too much of a stretch. But maybe she will take a look at something by them and see if it's something she would be interested in diving deeper into

Like 90% of this particular song is English its crazy how reactors miss that. Idk if its the little bit of Japanese that throws it off so you don't realize what you are hearing is English. I love Lisa's voice, she may not be a Lizzy Hale or Maria Brink but she is phenomenal. And yes, Felix doesn't look like that voice should belong to him, but it very much does. Maybe something like the song Battlegound would be more for you but it doesn't have a video you would need a lyric video.

Sorry guys, but if you don't like K-Pop songs so much, why do you keep interacting with them? All you criticize is their makeup, even though it's just movie makeup, and that belongs to K-Pop culture and companies to make them look good. And when you said you don't like Seungmin's voice, he has the best voice in K-Pop, so if you don't like them don't ever interact again

    • @Savage-Reactions

We never said we dislike them. If I got into a car and it was on, I'd be ok with it. I'm just not into it enough to blast it in my car. That said, we keep reacting to them because this is a reaction channel and many K-Pop listeners/viewers are trying to find songs that I will like a lot. We're open to trying them. I'm not criticizing their makeup, just merely making an observation. Nobody said they didn't like Seungmin's voice. It was stated that we were surprised, because we didn't expect it, as it didn't match what his appearance is. In the comments, others had agreed. You're welcome to continue to watch our reactions, or not. That's definitely your prerogative. However we'll continue to follow recommendations from other subscribers and K-Pop fans, and look forward to finding one I can blast in my car.

I’m trying to figure out what it is that you like 😊❤, one of you likes rock and the other likes a bit of everything, but even though the 2 songs of Stray Kids (skz) have a bit of everything it’s not clicking for you. I get it, I’m like that with female voices, only very few I enjoy hearing and they’re not Kpop. If you don’t like rap at all, there is no point in listening to skz unless you are ready to open your mind to the genre. I used to only listen to rock then went musically dormant after Linkin Park. Skz woke me up after many years and has led me to new western metal like Lorna Shore for example. It’s not obvious how a group from Korea had such an impact on me but they are giving me everything I need.
So out of curiosity, if you haven’t already, please react to a Japanese rock band One OK Rock and their live song Take What You Want. I would like to hear your opinion on their sound and the fan’s reaction to that performance. Thank you.

what bothers me isn't that she doesn't like the music but rather how dismissive she is about the whole genre. The guy is being much more open minded about kpop; i'm interested in what he does/doesn't like about the music. It's so sus the things she's nitpicking lol "aww they're not singing in english :/ wish i could like it but i can't" ok nice, easy way to rule out 99% of kpop while trying to seem like you're giving it a chance. not to mention "i wasn't looking at the video, i was looking at my dog" lol really? just rude. ur audience isn't as unperceptive as you think.
