It was officially stated that series cost over a million USD. I am not sure on the actual figure though, can't recall what it was. They hired professional movie crew, professional actors (not all, but those who had lines etc; scavs were played by the game dev team :)), all professional gear and shit... The biggest difference between this and similar American films is their universal use of blank firing weapons. Most American films rarely use blank firing weapons anymore for safety reasons. In Russia, they can probably do whatever they want. It's the difference between those old Hong Kong martial arts films and American films. There's much more leeway for what they can do in camera stunts wise because there's less restrictions and insurance issues. Just think about episode 2 alone. All those guys firing blanks inside enclosed spaces on top of having all the crew around, camera guy is running backwards, everyone is on the move. All it takes is someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time with all the gas being vented from those rifles. They even directly shoot blanks at eachother in close proximity which is a huge Hollywood stunt no no. But God bless them for it because the finished product is fucking spectacular.

Hey guys, this is a great start to my weekend. I have a request for you two. An Army Of Two reaction vid. P.S. The Tarkov series has been fun to watch and made even better by your commentary on it.👍
If you guys were wondering, on top of the factions USEC, and BEAR. There is the subgroup (scavs)and also another subgroup called the cultists, they have hidden rooms across all the maps and inside them you'll usually find good loot inside the rooms, among other things like pig heads. and dead bodies. If you go on a night raid they have a high chance of hanging outside those spawn rooms, they also have an ability to walk really quietly so they can sneak up behind you and stab you with poison knives. Probably one of the scarier groups
Nikita the head dev of the game said that if they gonna do another series they want to do it in the US and include US vets to play USEC's. Maybe there can be a roll for you :D
I guess its up to me to bring back SCP lmfao I legit want to make one with you two. I just need the budget now lol These guys had a nice size budget for these eps. Each ep was like over 100k. Very well done compared to hollywood.
Not sure if you guys have ever looked at Come & See? Its a Soviet WW2 movie based on both the writers experience in Belarus during the Nazi occupation. They used a 12 or 13 year old boy with no acting experience and almost traumatized him. They also used real ammunition in one scene. You can see the tracers flying over their heads.
This was dope. SCP should take production notes. Love their subject matter cause I'm a huge Resident Evil fan. But their execution is pretty lacking. This, on the other hand, is above and beyond.
SCP universe is a mockumentary at it's core. It's trying to mimic documents of some sort of secret agency. While all short films I see about SCP are trying to collect tropes from cheap TV series.
Breaking plates is a greek tradition that can symbolize good luck. Nowadays it's most seen in weddings. It got popular in russia for some reason. In Ukrayne they had a event in 2014 where they broke plates in a square as a public stress release event.
'Thats it on tarkov for now' Hooooold up a second, i think you guys missed something. Pestily, doing John Wick runs on labs. Mans is known as one of the best Tarkov players(Arguably THE best), and with good reason. He's cleared entire maps with nothing more than a FN-57 or G18 going up against people in full kits, even using Altyns & the one funky Russian helmet with the steel visor that turns you into a bobble-head. You guys reacted to some Offline raids, showing you the gameplay, looting, inventory, all that good stuff. Now Its definitely time to see you all react to what it looks like when you play Tarkov non-stop for years, lol. Dead-serious though, You guys would love it. He just puts on some dope music, and runs around popping grapes. its great.
I seriously think they should make another series of this and I'm pretty sure Nikita (the Tarkov God) said if they were gonna do another series he'd want to do it in the U.S. You guys should totally try and see if you can both be in it! Would be Epic and probably doable xD
You two really should get into acting. Both of you would be phenomenal actors I think. It's also super cool that you guys look and act remarkably similar to two of the main actors from the Sci-Fi series "The Expanse" (Steven Strait who plays James Holden and West Chatham who plays Amos Burton). You guys seriously should try to get Steven and West on your show or see if you can meet up with them at a comicon and do an episode hanging out with them two. If those guys watch your channel, they'll probably tell both of you the same thing, that you two need to get into acting.
the production is already outstanding. And to think about the fact that its just a movie for an awesome videogames backstory is outstanding. and battlestate games are just a small videogame company from russia! I LOVE EFT!!!
watching the BTS footages really goes to show that it wasn't just the vfx and the guns, BSG had a project that was well thought out, well choreographed and overall just above and beyond what people would expect out of promotional content for a game. comparing this to the SCP video is kinda unfair but it's not really punching down with how people seem to gush over it for doing the bare minimum.
Would definitely love your guy's insight on the 2020 movie called "The Outpost," and if either of you are avid readers, would totally appreciate book reviews/reccomendations if possible! :) Always finding your content invaluable and entertaining every step of the way. Hope you're keeping well over on your side 👍
I was really disappointed over the team tactics in the SCP live-action series. It felt half-assed, and the fact that they had a cqc instructor on set made it even more disappointing to see them not caring a tad about blind spots and red sectors...
@@therealsourc3 , it’s definitely weird to think they had an instructor on the set. I guess they didn’t have enough time. Some of their problems definitely stem from video-game habits: not checking under beds and other places that are almost never used, flagging each other, etc.
@@revdaddy6934 I think they also had multiple delays in terms of weather, etc. So the the whole field part with burning cross was all in one take. Definitely needed more time tbh.
I have to say you guys love tarkov more than SCP and I don’t blame you Tarkov for fun SCP for cringe Also tarkov is more interesting to watch and the dedication and time they put in this is just insane I wonder what their budget was, if it’s a low budget that’s an insane amount of work
SCP was cringe. A shoddy production. With the right direction it could be great because the content/back story is pretty interesting and there’s a lot there to work with.
@@gooddoggo3547 it was cringe dude, the tactics are like from the 70s and going room to room pretty fast in large groups is unrealistic and unnecessary, it’s cool to see a guys in military going against paranormal activity, the developers or directors should of just hired a few military dudes to make it work, I don’t understand why they grabbed a few airsoft dudes to be put into the film
although i think the escape of tarkov raid series are indeed much better, i also think there are things 100 times worse than scp overlord. so in my opinion you guys are kinda overreacting.

nikita , the boss man himself said in a intrervju/podcast (if i remember correctly ) that they have got a multi million deal trown at them to take this to the us and produce a big thing out of it , but he thought it would get to big and he would be affraid to let sommeone els control it .since he was on set a lot of the time
The director is industry professional but he made only one big movie - a crime drama "Скольжение" (Slide) which also had a good firefight sequence or two. Nikita ( the lead dev ) said that they wanted something different and true to the game for marketing and chose to make a mini-series. You don't really see Tarkov ads anywhere but this series hits hard. He did not tell how much the whole thing cost but he said it was way into the tens of millions USD so i that means its at least over 20M. The sfx works for the last episode was nearly 2 mil. Nikita the head dev of the game said that if they gonna do another series they want to do it in the US and include US vets to play USEC's. Maybe there can be a roll for you :D
“And that’s why you shoot somebody… smthn… to make sure they are dead”
Geneva convention goes brrrrrt
Glad im not the only one who couldnt handle the SCP stuff lmao
“And that’s why you shoot somebody to make sure they’re dead” XD lol
I guess its up to me to bring back SCP lmfao I legit want to make one with you two. I just need the budget now lol These guys had a nice size budget for these eps. Each ep was like over 100k. Very well done compared to hollywood.
the room with all the candles is the marked room, theres a cult in the game where the marked room is there spot and it spawns good look 13:50
Someone has to bring the SAVAGE Actual peeps to consult on a SCP film...
Have you guys seen 13 Hours: Secret soilders of Benghazi? It would be cool to hear your thoughts on more western military films
Hi, bros! Thanks for your job! With respect from Moscow, Russia! #WeAreRussians #Peace ✌
This was dope. SCP should take production notes. Love their subject matter cause I'm a huge Resident Evil fan. But their execution is pretty lacking. This, on the other hand, is above and beyond.
they really outdid themselves with this film, I really wish that they'd hire on more voice actors for the game though.
They did release a full length version on RUclips with all parts in one and there is a little extra content in it too I believe
According to Nikita (the CEO of BSG) they spent 1.2mil$ for post production of the 5th episode.
Its really amazing that the quality and realism is on par with Band of Brothers and Pacific! The SCP edge lords should hide their heads in shame.
SCP universe is a mockumentary at it's core. It's trying to mimic documents of some sort of secret agency. While all short films I see about SCP are trying to collect tropes from cheap TV series.
@@viktorvlasov483 wow ok
Nikita Buyanov (guy in the blue jacket @23:16) said they spent a couple million on the production. Nikita is the CEO of Battlestate Games.
So far tactics/team work is spot on
They spent roughly 2-4 million I believe on it. They spoke about it on Klean's channel during his last Talking Tarkov video.
Breaking plates is a greek tradition that can symbolize good luck. Nowadays it's most seen in weddings. It got popular in russia for some reason. In Ukrayne they had a event in 2014 where they broke plates in a square as a public stress release event.
'Thats it on tarkov for now'
Hooooold up a second, i think you guys missed something.
He just puts on some dope music, and runs around popping grapes. its great.
dude we need yall two to be voice actors for the USEC guys on tarkov. lmao
I seriously think they should make another series of this and I'm pretty sure Nikita (the Tarkov God) said if they were gonna do another series he'd want to do it in the U.S. You guys should totally try and see if you can both be in it! Would be Epic and probably doable xD
Really like you guys and ur content, keep up the good work and good luck with everything 🤘
Attention to detail is the calling card of Escape from Tarkov
Nikita, the director of Escape From Tarkov said the sfx of the last part of episode 5 alone cost $1.something million USD
Absolutely no doubt. First rate stuff.
the production is already outstanding. And to think about the fact that its just a movie for an awesome videogames backstory is outstanding. and battlestate games are just a small videogame company from russia! I LOVE EFT!!!
Nikita (the guy over the creation of Escape From Tarkov) said in a recent podcast that they spent over 5 million USD to make the entire series.
wasn´t it 6.5 mill?
watching the BTS footages really goes to show that it wasn't just the vfx and the guns, BSG had a project that was well thought out, well choreographed and overall just above and beyond what people would expect out of promotional content for a game. comparing this to the SCP video is kinda unfair but it's not really punching down with how people seem to gush over it for doing the bare minimum.
Would definitely love your guy's insight on the 2020 movie called "The Outpost," and if either of you are avid readers, would totally appreciate book reviews/reccomendations if possible! :) Always finding your content invaluable and entertaining every step of the way. Hope you're keeping well over on your side 👍
They released a long cut of the raid series by the way, including some deleted scenes and such. something you might want to look into
guys you should be part of somthing like this!! or at least as expert advisors!
love the comparisson with SCP! hahaha
in a podcast/interview one of the lead devs said that the raid series cost them around $1 million dollars to make and film
$1 mil per episode and around $5 mil the last one
They’re still ragging on SCP -- Savage!
@@Jay_Sullivan Homie didn't seem like a real instructor when you go back and watch how he taught
@@revdaddy6934 I think they also had multiple delays in terms of weather, etc. So the the whole field part with burning cross was all in one take. Definitely needed more time tbh.
I have to say you guys love tarkov more than SCP and I don’t blame you
Tarkov for fun
SCP for cringe
Also tarkov is more interesting to watch and the dedication and time they put in this is just insane I wonder what their budget was, if it’s a low budget that’s an insane amount of work
Nikita said in a podcast it was ~5 million for the whole series. Pretty low all things considered
@@bennettfarmer3482 wow a 5 million budget that’s insane, looks just as good as the marvel movies lol
@@Chris09978 Right cause army advisors will work for pennies an pizza slices right?
I love you guys reacting to Tarkov such an amazing game thats why I subbed :)
Really enjoyed this guys.
when Jason says that`s a long gun......that`s ak104 the short version carabine of the ak47
Shorter version of the AK103 actually but nice try.
Please no more scp! That shit sucks
Hahahaha
although i think the escape of tarkov raid series are indeed much better, i also think there are things 100 times worse than scp overlord. so in my opinion you guys are kinda overreacting.
It was around the millions per episode... Nikita explained that on the Klean podcast
Hey guys, I would like y’all to post a reaction of Netflix’s Mosul if you haven’t already, not so sure if you guys will like it or not since it’s not my area of expertise, love your work btw!
Even the sound guy is fucking massive @23.40
The person behind battlestate games said on one interview that the videoFX cost for this series was more than a million €
Nikita (CEO of the game) said it costed 10 million for the whole series. Didn't specify if it was Rubles, Euros, Dollars or Bitcoin though.
I play Tarkov, have ignored Raid, though would suck, didn't want to waste time. Definitely watching Raid this weekend, thx! BTW, cool recognizing in game locations.
I even enjoy the Escape from Tarkov series since the early release 2019
Steadycams would've detracted from the overall feel of the film - the handheld and rigged cameras add that sense of chaos and framing. Y'all need to hop into Tarkov and start playing haha
Thank you guys for the entertaining videos and info, planning on joining SOF real soon👍🔥
great vid the tarkov raid series really is a breath of fresh air compared to the modern stuff id take this over shit like outpost on netflix unless im out of touch i dont think soldiers are twigs flinging m4s around sending hundreds of rounds downrange at nothing the raid series feels authentic and much more entertaining. keep it up savage glhf
they also released a directors cut of the raid series its all in one with some extra scenes in it
React to the new Tarkov “streets of Tarkov” trailer with the BTR, destructible walls and non static environments
nikita , the boss man himself said in a intrervju/podcast (if i remember correctly ) that they have got a multi million deal trown at them to take this to the us and produce a big thing out of it , but he thought it would get to big and he would be affraid to let sommeone els control it .since he was on set a lot of the time
The director is industry professional but he made only one big movie - a crime drama "Скольжение" (Slide) which also had a good firefight sequence or two. Here is SWAT raid on a house from his movie: ruclips.net/video/jtmABViVt1M/видео.html And in my opinion probably one of the best pistol scenes in entire cinema history: ruclips.net/video/jua2hnFiHg4/видео.html
We're all brattan. Cheers from this American Slav.
They've released all the episodes together with some extra stuff added to it so it worth a rewatch.
ruclips.net/video/q9OIT7W24V8/видео.html
They made all 5 episodes into one movie. It's around an hour long
i love the snow, i love the rain, i hate the sun and heat
The audio is bouncing pretty hard in that room. Sound tiles and a rug will help!
On this film, as I remember, Nikita said, about $ 5 million was spent
Best gaming channel with no PC!
You guys should definitely react to the upcoming battlefield 2042 game, trailer recently just got released. It’d be smart to tune in to those events to help grow your underrated channel 🤙🏻
