This is REAL gardening. This is exactly how planning a garden goes. It takes years to learn our spaces, our plants, our designs. Gardening is a journey, not a destination. I've had to reset so many times, but the fun is in trying something new. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the fence area. The apples were a great idea and looked awesome but the next thing will be awesome also! Love your garden and your journey. ❤
As a lifetime gardener, I feel your pain. 😢 We do mourn the loss of our plants especially ones that have served us well and have brought us a peaceful place to enjoy. Such is the life cycle of a plant’s life. We do our best. Moving on…❤
Hi Robbie! It was sad seeing the apple espaliers being removed, but your vision for that area is something I'm looking forward to. I love your positive attitude and infectious smile, even when you are forced to do something you don't want to do. I hope the "deal" with Eisley's goes really well for you. I'm looking forward to seeing what they send you and seeing what you add. The oops with the Hoselink is something that would probably happen to me, too. ;-) I read all of the comments and want to say kudos to your response to the two negative comments. There is no room for negativity on your channel. Thank you so much for sharing!
The apple tree espalier was a good idea, but sometimes things work out for the better. Hiding the neighbor’s roof will be really nice in the long term and be a pretty backdrop for your new backyard plan.
We learn as we go - and we are seeing actual gardening issues. I appreciate your authenticity Robbie. Sad about the apple trees, but excited to see what you create.
I loved the idea of the espalier, but it’s also fun to go into the season with a clean slate. So many possibilities!! I’ll enjoy following along with the transformation.
I’m sorry about the apple trees. Some of my saddest unfulfilled visions for my garden have given me the opportunity to create something that past me could have never imagined. Your apple espalier will live on in everyone’s garden that you inspired with that project. I can’t wait to see how this space changes and evolves.
Love the idea of getting to recreat this space. Utilizing something with height to cover things we dont want to see is gardening. Learning our spaces as we go and adapting. Cant wait to see what you come up with!
It is sad to lose the apple trees but it opens up your garden to a new direction! I am looking forward to see how your garden develops this year! I am watching from Canada :)
Sorry Robbie!! It sucks, but sometimes things just don’t work out. I’m sure it will be even more beautiful when you are done. That’s gardening! I can’t wait to see how you rework that area!!❤
Exciting new opportunities for the fence line. I added alot of evergreens this past summer and now they are wonderful in the garden, when everything else is bare sticks.
Sorry, robbie from an old gardener. That's the way gardening goes friend. You have a lot of good ideas i have full confidence. You will come up with something beautiful for your yard
Robby will you paint your other trees or something else ? Your hubby has Great taste in plants and colors ! You should have him help choose some trees and other things!! Love you two😊❤❤😊
Get another purple leaf plum like the one you had but properly staked 😅 would look awesome with evergreens next to it, the contrast of colors would be amazing
Omg! Iseli evergreens are amazing! I’m jelly, I dream of Iseli plants in my garden. You pronounced their name correctly too! They would be so proud because it’s not an easy name ❤❤❤❤
Soooo sorry for your loss! Since you already have the espalier wires on the gate could you continue the same plant that is on your other espalier? It Would be a beautiful green backdrop for the plants below🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴
I like your plan of trees and evergreens. I think it will look even better than the apple trees. Place your bench among the trees and evergreens so you can take a break while gardening. Thanks for keeping it real.
I appreciate this video, I’ve had my tree for 6 years and I have not notice any on my tree. I will inspect closer. Your yard is going to look incredible come spring! 🎉❤ 🎊👏
Thanks for posting Robbie. You got this!! The next property can grow more apples actually even have regular trees as well. Please keep watch the other apples trees they are handa down stunning.😊
Good morning Robbie and Brent 😊 Those damn little turd nuggets! 😢 I hate that... 😞 I hate losing any plant. Am looking forward to see what you will plant there. This is going to be an AMAZING year for you and your garden. Sooo.... exciting 😊 I tried starting seeds last year for the 1st time. I did not thin or pinch any 🤦♀️ so I had long leggy stems, no branching but, did get flowers 😂🤪 (Love Lies Bleeding, Gomphrena, and Cock's Combs) How cool would that be if Isleys sent you a bunch of evergreens 🌲 Thank you for sharing this video with us. 😊Jen
Hi Robbie, I too had to remove my apple espalier, I had such high hopes after seeing so many beautiful ones in photos, but mine was a grafted 4 types of apples and I found it hard to keep new branches trained but mostly it was the bugs and apples all over the ground I didn’t like …sad but that’s gardening….theres always something new to plant and plant what makes you happy 🎉…..maybe consider planting 1 columnar apple tree? They only grow up and are very narrow? Those look interesting! Also you could use evergreens that get taller, just cut the leader off when it gets the height you want it to be and it’ll stay that way, just trim as necessary.
Maybe when you replace the apple trees, you can make a seating area among the evergreen and deciduous trees. Ash grows soooooo fast. So sorry about those trees. I can't get a real person at my card company to cancel my membership under the other ID to transfer here.
New area to do something new you hadn’t planned, good luck partnering up to get replacements you just have a few more weeks to be able to solely dedicated to your place, lots of time to get the new projects completed, hope you get lots of businesses donate to you as you lose the income, stay positive 2025 gonna be a year of many changes 😊❤
Robbie I feel your pain! I grew five lilacs from suckers and they were huge! They all got borers and had to come out last year. Was so sad, but like you said opens you up for more possibilities. I put in all hydrangeas to replace them and I think will enjoy the long blooming hydrangeas much more than the short blooming lilacs! Deanna @gardensglory
You are all over the place without consistency. I've watched you for years and there's truly no clear garden plan. I hope it works out. Love to watch you I wish you'd stop doing things just to do things...🤔🤷
That's actually what I love about Robbie. He's a real gardener- not sponsored or scripted, not blatantly copying others. There are plenty of those channels. I love Robbie for his honest approach and the fact that he shares his challenges and his successes not just the high points.
That's what makes him so fun to watch. We all make mistakes (THATS FINE) I don't know about other gardeners but I want to try everything I see.. I like the do or die gardening.
I’ll talk more about this the next weeks Q&A but this garden plan that we are working on currently has been the plan since October 2022 and I’ll show the original sketch. There were alot of things I wanted to try in the garden before we put in permanent infrastructure and I couldn’t. Ex: full cut flower garden, full veggie garden, a year of rest and so forth.
You might just move to another channel and watch someone that is more regimented and . Robbie’s not your type of gardener…move on. Please don’t share your negative comments. Robbie is a kind person with a huge heart and a talented gardener. He’s sensitive…. You might try being kind.
I'm shocked that you want to change the chicken coop and run and want to make it smaller. It's way too small for the as it is. Chicken need space. If you don't want to give them space do them a favour and give them to someone who can care for them better. How would you love to live in a dog kennel. Surely that would be big enough to survive?
Positivity goes a lot further. Not sure if you just have a problem with me or what but the only comments you ever seem to leave are negative. You called what I’ve done tacky and tasteless, tell me I’m doing things wrong and now this. If my channel doesn’t bring you joy I’m not sure why you would want to watch. Hope you have a better day.

Hi Robbie and Brent, it is a very sad day to lose your Apple trees, but you have such a good attitude and that means a lot.
As a lifetime gardener, I feel your pain. 😢
We do mourn the loss of our plants especially ones that have served us well and have brought us a peaceful place to enjoy. Such is the life cycle of a plant’s life. We do our best.
Moving on…❤
Hi Robbie! Don’t forget to put slug and snail bait immediately around your newly planted lettuce and snapdragons🪴
I know it will be gorgeous!
Looks so much better Robbie with those apple trees gone. Happy planting in your next video. It`s going to look amazing.
Luv real gardens. I always like when our garden/yard is a work in progress

Better things to come. Gardens constantly give us second chances.

Dang bugs….I had some unfortunate losses too, back when I gardened. There is no guarantee when it comes to plants and critters😃
I loved the idea of the espalier, but it’s also fun to go into the season with a clean slate. So many possibilities!! I’ll enjoy following along with the transformation.
Gardening reality! I look at it as gardening experiments and we learn from things like this.
I’m sorry about the apple trees. Some of my saddest unfulfilled visions for my garden have given me the opportunity to create something that past me could have never imagined. Very sorry, Robbie. It is sad. As a gardener, I’m always sad when something dies. Hang in there!
It is sad to lose the apple trees but it opens up your garden to a new direction! I am looking forward to see how your garden develops this year! I am watching from Canada :)
New opportunity… SO exciting!!! 💚
Hugs Robbie. So sorry you had to dig those apple trees out. 😢.
But I know fun things to come. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Sorry Robbie!! It sucks, but sometimes things just don’t work out. I’m sure it will be even more beautiful when you are done. That’s gardening! I can’t wait to see how you rework that area!!❤

Hey Robbie perhaps look into something Tropical near the gate. Those tropical plants can handle the heat. Good luck.
I'm sorry that your plants were damaged and had to come out. But there are new things to come! We live and learn!
I’m looking forward to seeing your dreams come true ! ❄️☃️💚🙃
Oh Robbie. 😭 I’m so sorry! That damage was extensive. You made the right choice, but DANG it’s heartbreaking. XO
It was such a tough decision but I knew I needed to do it.
Agree Robbie. ❤
Morning guys, bittersweet yes, but how exciting to hopefully be working with Iseli Nursery! All these changes will be awesome this year!
Thank you, Robbie
I'm looking forward to seeing what you replaced the apples with. Also, Judy, you're too funny 😁🌻
Robby will you paint your other trees or something else ? Your hubby has Great taste in plants and colors ! You should have him help choose some trees and other things!! Love you two😊❤❤😊

I like it better! I think it’s more peaceful to the eye. The tree line will offer so much habitat and screening. I think this was a happy accident :)
Your joy and passion are infectious! ❤️
Omg! Iseli evergreens are amazing! I’m jelly, I dream of Iseli plants in my garden. You pronounced their name correctly too! They would be so proud because it’s not an easy name ❤❤❤❤
Thanks Robbie. ❄️☃️💚🙃

Enjoying your real gardening..its so practical...cannot wait to see the replanted fence area..
It’s time to do my finger exercises! ❄️☃️💚🙃
Good morning Robbie. Like you, it hurts my heart to lose the espaliers but I’ll be watching for you to do something fabulous in those spaces.❤❤❤
Good morning. Sad to see the apple trees 🌳 leave. Can't wait to see what's next.
I like your plan of trees and evergreens. I think it will look even better than the apple trees. Place your bench among the trees and evergreens so you can take a break while gardening. Thanks for keeping it real.
That larva was huge! Fruit trees require a lot of prevention with spraying programs. Apple moths are a nightmare too.
Sad to see the espalier gone, but like you said trees will hide the roof. Planting new things are exciting.
I appreciate this video, I’ve had my tree for 6 years and I have not notice any on my tree. I will inspect closer. Your yard is going to look incredible come spring! 🎉❤ 🎊👏

Sad but excited for what is coming

Evergreens in front of the black fence will be great.
We will learn along with you. So thankyou.
Life is always full of change! Way to pull the bull by the horns and GO FOR IT! You will LOVE the new look you create! 💙💚💛🧡💜 Liz from California
So sad about the apple trees but so excited to see what is to come. Great video
“If you’re squeamish…”. I’m walking closer to my TV so I can really see it!
If you put fine bark mulch around plants, the slugs can't go over it. Just a thin layer in a ring does it.
Good morning at 9 degrees 🥶aww that sad about the apple trees.😒
I’m so sorry you had this problem with your apple trees. Will you need to spray any of your other trees or shrubs?
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for your newly opened up garden area! Sorry about your apple trees, gardening is not for the weak of heart.
Sorry you had to pull them but now what great possibilities
Oh what a shame Robbie the espaliers just had to come out 😢 but some lovely new trees and plants to grow❤️
sorry about your babies but happy about working with islie ( spelling sorry) stay positive and keep playing in the dirt!! Hi Brent
stacey from philly
Look at it this way. It is in process, not torn up. Use that language and see how it changes your view.❤
Amazing progress this episode 😅
Live & learn, right? Never ending.❤
So sad about the apple trees. But now you can just keep planting more stuff
How about the Podocarpus?
Could you have planted a jasmine vine to climb the tree and make a living wall ? So sad that they have to go.
Can’t wait to see the snap dragons!
good plan!!! cheers

Good morning guys, You can think of it as now you can go shopping and perhaps design to your new landscape.
Selamat beraktivitas berkebun kak 👍
Have you tried the apple blossom maverick geranium seeds? They are so pretty!
Good morning
Sorry Robbie!
So sorry about the apple trees.
Give everyone a warning. You tube unsubscribed me from your channel. Great video

I'm sorry about the espaliers. Gardening is emotional, don't you think?
