The term is heir apparent. He has issue with the crown and he is the first in line, which if it were the new rules that determined that. As he had no children but outlived his younger brother, the present Queen would have had more time with her own children to the benefit of all. Having already digested a divorcee Queen it is possible Charles might have had less conditions imposed upon him in his choice and the tragic marriage to Diana would not have happened.

I think that was also something that cemented their relationship.

Camilla loved Parker Bowles. It is only when she saw the opportunity to socially climb & how easily she could manipulate Charles that she got involved in his life again. Charles was so inexperienced, oblivious to her machinations that he got involved & Camilla was what was easy & comfortable. Camilla made no demands so he was fine with it. Of course Diana wouldnt she was in love with the idea of a marriage & too innocent to know how to deal with all of it. Charles actually was quite abusive to Diana. Charles has never been a catch.

Being in love is so special and doesn't happen often, or not come at all, but having to marry when you are not in love, that's rather difficult. Some people are just made for each other, how fantastic is that?

Being in love is very special and life is better for it. But for umpteen years, millenia even, royalty and the aristocracy married but not for love. Marriages were for dynastic reasons and love matches were few and far. Even now they're being forced to marry someone that they don't want to marry who might even be their cousin. Sad though, especially if you are blessed to have found the one and you're not able to express that love and it's not your spouse (who might be a lovely person, just not the one). That's where sadness and infidelity and mistresses enter into the picture.

I don't think if Charles had married Camilla at the time that he wouldn't have cheated on her... and she on him in retaliation. They do love each other - I think they were always drawn to each other - I believe they are both sincere in their feelings. Camila would have had the personality to stick along with him and hurt him as much as he hurt her, should it come to that. But I also think they were very practical in their knowledge that no one would really accept a union between them so they just dropped it. It's just really sh*tty that Charles and the family was okay with fooling Diana into thinking her marriage would be "normal." It's very rare for any royal to have a "normal" marriage as we know it: sleeping in the same room together, making decisions together, spending family time together. It was almost as if they picked a too young, too naive girl on purpose....

He is not handsome in a celebrity kind of way but he is plenty handsome when you keep in mind what he brings to the table intellectually. He is tall, with a fit body, nice eyes, and smile. So he was forced to go against his heart and choose someone who was "acceptable". Diana was aristocratic, virginal, young and looked the part. She had a sister who fit the bill as well. He settled for acceptability when he couldn't even consider love.

I don’t believe in coincidences. Diana’s death was too damn convenient. Charles could not inherit the throne as a divorced man……as a widower…..it was OK.

At the time I felt so as well, but if you think again you will find it was very hard to get the successful goal through this accident, if someone was plotting to get rid of her, then how they ensured she would be killed in the accident, how they ensured her not to wear seatbelt, the only person survived was the bodyguard who was the only one wearing seat belt. Unless someone just wanted to injure Diana, but end up more tragic 😥. Years later, I became more and more aware there're some powerful force in our lives, i start to believe fate has been written when we're born. As a Christian we call god, maybe God has its arrangement for everyone including royal family. I don't think it's a good idea to fight with the royal family, because indeed they're crucial to the country and whole commonwealth nations.

She was not removed from the wreckage immediately and taken to the hospital for surgery. It seems they left her there to ensure she was terminal.

Thank you for your insight and documentary videos. Really interesting. After much research and thinking, here's my take on Charles/Camilla/Diana issue. Charles met Camilla (not by chance) and was enamoured with her. She was bold, open minded and not a virgin. She had an on /off seven year relationship with Capt Parker-Bowles when she had an "encounter" with Charles. He was absolutely taken by her when coming to a friend's house one morning, Camilla opened the door dressed in nothing, but a men's white shirt on, barely covering her. Her much quoted words "you know that your great great grandfather and my great great grandmother were lovers" was an "incredible connection ". Charles fell in love and would have married Camilla anytime, but his mother Queen Elizabeth 2 and his grandmother The Queen Mother were very much against this union. And I don't think that was because Camilla was not from a more aristocratic family or because she was not a virgin, but due to the fact that she was a descendant from an illegitimate child of Mrs. Alice Keppel and their great great grandfather King Edward VII. Alice Keppel played a prominent role at the court whereas King Edward's VII's wife Queen Alexandra was left to her grievances and sorrows, so when King Edward VII died ( he requested Alice to be at his deathbed), Alice Keppel and her family (with daughter Sofia allegedly being an illegitimate child with the late King, and great grandmother to Camilla) were immediately banished from the court and allegedly out of the country... for some time... I think that the reason for not allowing Prince Charles to marry Camilla was exactly that : Queen Elizabeth II couldn't allow a woman of very little royal blood and having her ancestory cause so much pain, to be not only a member of the RF, but Queen Consort..... When in the younger days Charles was so besotted with Camilla that he wanted to pop the question, he was safely called to Naval duty overseas for several years (in hope that his feelings would subside), and Camilla was encouraged to marry Capt. Parker-Bowles thru her parents who were informed that it would be best for their daughter not to wait for the return of the Prince... That was not the subject which Camilla or her parents could argue or go against. So Camilla married Parker Bowles (long time on-off lover) and had two children with him, and Charles was forced by his parents to marry Diana (a virgin by laws of the Anglican church) and had two children.... And look what has this come to : Diana is dead, the Queen is dead and Camilla is Queen Consort (Alice Keppel must be cheering on from up there)... So this is how I see why Charles was not allowed to marry Camilla and the mistakes it has lead to.... Imagine that Charles and Camilla were allowed to be married way back in the 70's- 80's... and the children they would have had ?
diana's death has nothing to do with the RF or her marraige to Charles. It was an accident, caused by her boyfriend's lack of proper security and taking sensible precautions. The queen's deaht has nothing to do with Charles or his marriage or divorce. The woman was 96 and in failing health.

Had they not been royal, they probably would have been divorced after a couple of years. Charles is not responsible for every bad decision made by Diana or her boyfriends. As for hte queen she did not force Charles to marry Diana... They weren't wearing their seat belts. If Dodi and Dianna had worn their seat belts and got married and moved to the US as they had planned, Charles and Camilla could have got married the very next month. Because of the accident (especially without seat belts) C+C had to wait many more years and put up with ignorant finger pointing, blaming and character assasination. Wearing seat belts in moving vehicles is very important. Unfortunately some people don't realise how very important seat belts really are. Without them a car accident victim is significantly more likely to die.
