    As someone who works in a library, thank you!! Book sale money goes directly to our programming in my system!

    I support a local book vendor at my town, English books are usually expensive so I often buy second hand, so when I found that vendor it was very convenient for me. The good part he always greets me with a huge smile when he sees me because I always leave buying over 10 books every time. A win win 😊. Yeah library sales aren’t a thing here

    I love my local library too! Since I am a teacher, they let me see the books that were going to be at the book sale like a week before and I could buy what I wanted. It was awesome

    "We're gonna go respectfully support our library...and rob them." 😂 I already go to a lot of library sales, but this is gonna be my new mantra walking in.
    Library sale haul videos are so interesting to watch, just for the sheer variety; I'm so curious to see what individuals pick out! The Dana Schwartz book is a great score. Also appreciate the pan over the tables; I spotted Summer at Tiffany next to one of the books you picked up. That's a sweet little memoir.

      oooooh thats awesome you have a lot around you!!! this is the first time ive lived somewhere that a local library does these things, so I feel very lucky and worried the next place I live won't have as good of a library sale there LOL.

      AWWWW I hope your library has one soon and you find some gems :)) a lot of libraries have a “friends of ___ library section” so even if there’s no designated sale going on, they have an ongoing selection of books you’re able to buy too!!

    this video is getting me so pumped lmao my library's book sale starts a couple days from now and I am planning my whole weekend around it. there's a similar deal ($10 for a box of books) but only on the last day so I've got to take multiple trips.

    There is a library sale every month sometimes 2 a month depending on the time of year. I’m lucky though bc my library consists of 12 libraries within 8 cities. I love their policy I can check out a book at one library and I don’t have to return it to the same library. I can return it to one of the other 11 locations

    I'm so sad that I missed our library's big sale by being out of town. Usually the selection is better at their biggest sale.
    Edit- I forgot to say that The Devil Wears Prada was a really enjoyable book. Different from the movie in a few ways but still very enjoyable.

    • @crazybiogeek
      @crazybiogeek 8 месяцев назад +1

      I'm terrible but edit again, haha. I read Tokyo Ever After and agree with you about it being very OK. But I'm here because you call it "in modern day" in comparison to The Princess Diaries and now I feel very old.

    • @tiachu
      @tiachu  8 месяцев назад +2

      I missed mine last year bc I was out of town and I was so bummed!!! I hope you get to go to the next one :'))
      AND HAHAH OMG WAIT that so funny I didn't mean it like PD isn't modern age I guess I didn't know the right phrase.. I grew up with Princess Diaries and other movies like that so to me PD is like the CLASSIC THE ORIGINAL !! omg I showed the girls I babysit a Disney movie I loved when I was like 8 and they went "Disney DVD???! oh my god thats ancient" I SWEARRR I WAS LIKE 😐😐😐 too stunned to speak

      @crazybiogeek 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@tiachu Ok, thanks for not calling me old after all. haha I have ALL of the Princess Diaries books, as far as I know about them. Such a good series, and it's not like Mia ever becomes perfect or anything. She's always still flawed, but learns that trying her best is the best way to go about life. I really appreciate her character so much. And it's one thing that other books that try to use a similar premise usually don't quite get right.

    Library sales are the best!!! I like how you picked out ones to go in little libraries :,) I'm always tempted when I see a fun book at the thrift store, but it would not be financially smart I think for me to do that frequently haha! Also, random fact related to the name Jonas Jonasson - in Iceland, last names are the first name of your mother/father plus the suffix -son or -dottir depending on gender! Google says the author is Swedish, so I don't know if the naming tradition would be the same, but since it's also Scandinavian, my first thought was that he must have been named after his dad and then had a last name in that pattern! Now I'm curious, so I might go down a bit of a Wikipedia rabbit hole haha! Anyways, sorry for rambling, and I hope you enjoy your books! Best wishes

    • @tiachu
      @tiachu  8 месяцев назад +2

      it definitely depends on the area! some libraries have ongoing sales, some do seasonal ones, some don't even have them at all its very dependent on location :)
