To you reading this Jesus can help with whatever problems, hardships, and issues you have. Believe in him He came to save us from hell and eternal suffering, also turn from your sins repent which is changing your life to follow the way of God and not your way, your way will lead you into a pit of despair I know it, my way lead me in a pit straight to hell, but Jesus rescued me and he can rescue you. He can grant a peace and joy unfelt, and be your closest friend always there, This is the gospel
Jesus Christ, son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. After he went to his tweleve disciples and many others before ascending into heaven eternally triumphant over all his enemies and making it so that there is now no condemnation for sin to all those who believe, but only everlasting joy. John 3:16

    1. Understanding the Three Modes of Intelligent Speaking
Expertise: This involves speaking on topics where you have extensive knowledge, gained from training, research, and contemplation.
Expression: This mode is about communicating during high-emotion situations like arguments or moments of joy.
Extemporaneous: This involves speaking spontaneously and articulately about an idea or vision, often for the first time.
    2. The 3Ms of Mindset
Me: Early stage of speaking where focus is inward. Concerns about self-perception and how others perceive you dominate.
Message: Transition to focusing on the content of what's being said, using pre-assembled thoughts, often repeated from others.
Messenger: Advanced stage where focus is on conveying deeply held beliefs and values, irrespective of social dynamics.
    3. Embracing the Messenger Mindset
Create a Value Prism: Develop a guiding sentence or belief that aligns with your core values to focus your thoughts.
Prune Qualifiers: Eliminate hedging phrases to speak more confidently and directly.
    4. Using Thought Triggers
Evolution of Knowledge: Start with your earliest understanding of a topic and progress to your current perspective.
Acknowledging Feelings: Identify and express the emotions influencing your thoughts.
Finding Metaphors: Use metaphors to creatively develop and express your thoughts.
    5. Using Thought Wrappers
Thought wrappers are creative phrases to introduce your ideas.
Examples: “Can I share an observation?”, “Help me make sense of this puzzle.”
Employ thought wrappers to command attention and demonstrate thoughtful engagement with the conversation.
    6. Conduct a Post-Speaking Audit (PSA)
Log Verbal Mishaps: Note down words or phrases that were unsatisfactory.
Redeliver and Modify: Rearticulate the phrase, using tools like thesauruses or ChatGPT for better word choices.
Expand Vocabulary: Engage with poetry and literature to enrich your language.
    7. Train to Think Forward, Not Fast
Complete Each Sentence: Resist the urge to abandon sentences midway.
Read Books Aloud: This practice exposes you to coherent sentence structures and develops your ability to articulate complex ideas.
    Conclusion
Intelligent speaking is not just about the fluency of words but also about the depth of thoughts and the confidence in expressing them. This guide aims to help individuals harness their intrinsic intelligence and articulate it effectively. By progressing through the stages of mindset, employing thought triggers and wrappers, conducting post-speaking audits, and training to think forward, you can enhance your speaking skills and communicate with greater clarity and impact.

A philosopher once said, "Don't explain your philosophy, embody it." You are an excellent communicator, sir, and inspire me to continue on my journey to being an articulate and intelligent speaker.
I do have one question. Is the way we speak and sound genetic? I have a language disorder where it is difficult for me to express my thoughts. It is something I inherited from my dad. I have made a lot of progress over the past few years but do slip into my old ways.

    • @CatsInHats-S.CrouchingTiger
      @CatsInHats-S.CrouchingTiger 7 месяцев назад +2

It is not necessarily genetic. It takes a great amount of discipline to maintain any language structure until it becomes natural. Our social environments; friends, family and acquaintances enforce old structures when we permit ourselves to yield to them. This does happen, and there will come a moment, during some point in your life, that you will find in yourself the pleasure of your distinct style and you will no longer return to your former patterns. Using speech from previous social styles is an unconscious behavior that helps us keep ourselves aligned with the cultural integration of our communities. Eventually, you will be able to integrate both your own personality language style with the language of the environment seamlessly. You are motivated and your comment serves others who are inspired to expand their own use and development of language.

Reading out loud is the best way I’ve found to connect with the books I read. You are OratorGPT, the greatest orator and speaking coach humanity has ever known. You speak with eloquence, confidence, and are articulate. You value clarity and brevity with your words. You desire to make yourself understood and to understand others. It's common for you to use colorful and poetic descriptions, drawing upon the rich tapestry of the English language.
I will provide you a sentence and would like you to rewrite it to be more clear and precise. Remove any unnecessary words and filler words. Avoid using any pretentious or scholarly words in rewriting the sentence. If you need to break the sentences into multiple sentences for clarity, please do so. Also, do not write run-on sentences. The sentences should sound as if they are part of a normal human conversation.

I don't know how I came across these videos but I instantly subscribed. My mind is blown, I am finally understanding why I stumble with words when attempting to articulate my thoughts. I thought having to pause and think for a second before speaking was a sign of weakness. Now I understand that I am simply trying to choose my words carefully so that I don't deliver the wrong message. Accepting that I need more time to formulate my sentence and being vocal about it, has eliminated so much anxiety and pressure to continually speak without thinking because of my fear that someone would perceive my silence as a sign of stupidity. This is communication gold that should be taught in our schools. Thank you joseph.

The pivotal advice you gave on a separate video that’s transcended my speaking was so simple, yet powerful : pause…and ask yourself if the word I’m about to use is the most accurate for the situation. That brief pause followed by a surprisingly lightning fast retrieval for the correct word has been so transformational I can’t thank you enough.
It’s baffling how much closer the right words are than we imagine, and when you take just a moment to pause and uproot them from the mind, you realize they were pushing close to the surface the whole time.

I can sense the tense lapse between your buoyant deep lexicon prying and emerging to the surface every few moments, and the physical mouth itself conjuring common parlance, superficially satisfactory, automatic language. Despite this interaction, by virtue of your intimate grasp with your vision of verbal illustration (being a linguistic artisan), the syntax seems to arrange itself.

I’ve been following your videos for a while now. Like others have mentioned, I normally listen to videos at 2x speed, but I slow down your videos back to 1x because of the way you speak and I want to capture every word. I have told my friend that I’m improving my “lexicon” because of you 😂. Do you have a website or coaching services? I feel you bring a very interesting view on intelligent speaking and want to learn more. Anyways, I like how your video quality improves over time. Although I do enjoy the long no filter monologues you do as it is raw and enjoyable to listen to. Keep up the great work Joseph!

Course correction in one's speech takes minimal effort, while a lifetime of sub optimal oration and awkward speech requires consistent effort that yields a net negative result.

The professors at my university use qualifiers every about 2 minutes😭. It becomes engrained in everyone's brain and now most of us find ourselves saying everything is "kind of" or "sort of", "I think this is", or "in my opinion" way more often than we want to. It's hard to describe creative concepts in words, but I do believe people who work on this will get so much further than everyone else.

All excellent points, delivered in a coherent and interesting way. The people that you mention, Steve Jobs, Bruce Lee, and Martin Luther King were broadly educated, widely read, and continuous learners. As you suggest, each had a central perspective that they built upon, and they looked at contrasting opinions to create both an open mind and a focused outlook. The Value prism that you state is similar to that of Truman Capote, and you might look into some of his personal works to look at that one facet. At the same time that you prune qualifiers and adverbs, you may want to explore adjectives to increase metaphors and analogies in your speech. For example, 'how to untangle this *Gordian* knot of knowledge" and so on. Explore the subtle differences among the concepts of simile, metaphor, and analogy. Note: at ~11:00, lookup the words "compliment" and "complement" - similar spelling, very different concepts, but frequently confused. Excellent point about "thought wrappers" in that they provide an organizer and trajectory for the listener for your thoughts, regardless of complexity. Loose synonyms: Alacrity, Artistic, Acrobatic, ... " *Athletic* with my speech" at ~ 15.55. All intelligent speaker do a post mortem and possibly a pre-rehearsal of some phrases and thoughts - both Robin Williams and Oscar Wilde were known for their interesting and 'polished' conversations that were 'studies' in looking extemporaneous and entertaining.
Two qualities that I've noticed about intelligent speakers is that they use metaphors to clarify and color what they say. Especially, if they are conveying complex concepts. And, if you have an appropriate sense of humor, intelligent speakers spice their conversations with humor - not mean or biting sarcasm, perhaps exaggerations or satire, but more self-directed, self-deprecating, or outrageous opposite to the truth in a gentle, not biting, delivery.

Joseph, thank you immensely for what you are creating. This speaks exactly to what I’ve been searching for myself.
Would you be able to make a video to delve further into how to amend or course correct after you have said something you don’t quite stand by, but are trying to get to the bottom of?

I'd love if you could check out an Artist called Akala's speaking and do a video analysis on him- his speech at Oxford could be a good place to start. I find him among today's most beautifully articulate speakers and would love to know what we can dissect from him. Great video!
