This video was great. I’m in my home gym attempting this very workout, and I wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly. Thank you again for the quick, informative video.
Keep elbows bent and don’t come up all the way - this will follow the natural arc of the lats much better than straight arms and make you really connect with the lats. You’re welcome.
I saw another video explaining how this exercise can be both a back or chest exercise depending how you place your elbows- elbows tucked in for chest, elbows flaring for lats.
Perhaps using two dumbells and lying yourself on the edge of a bench will be better for your lats, and a single dumbell for your chest, since they're forced to be held together
Looks like a good exercise, I’ll try it, but it looks like you used your biceps more than your chest in your demo. Is that intended, should the arms stay straight or bent or or should the start straight when going back and bend coming forwards? I guess I’ll have to try and see what hits them best while trying them.
It's because of the way he's laying on the bench. I used to the do the same thing but it's not proper. Lay on the bench longways so your back and shoulders are full supported. It will work your chest and lats much better, I promise.
Maaaate this is not directed at the Lats I’m a 35 year trained IFBB competitor this exercise has always right back to the 70s watch Arnold using it in his CHEST routine it’s a peak contraction at the top that’s smashes the chest after the stretch and opens up the rib cage BOOM!
I loved it, granted I did it on a couch and was basically sitting at 90* sit but it was very effective and I felt it (should be sore tmr, did 20 chest sets today:) )
Straight- to the point. Love videos like this. Thank you
Qp
The stretch on my pecs was incredible. I only felt my lats while exercising, but today I woke up with sore pecs. Better than on cables!
love how straight forward you are

Such a nice stretch on the lats. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I immediately see the difference
So that's probably what I did wrong. I felt it on my pecs the most.
I'm scared it will fall on my face
TP lmao use light weight until you feel comfortable
Then use your hands to hold the dumbbell
😂😂😂
Use straps
No pain no gain
Dude I have never felt a stretch like this before, my new personal favorite
In the 1970's we used to always use pullovers straight after doing Bench Press ... it was thought to open the chest cavity ...
It definitely grows the chest too, it's great for both back and chest
These kinds of videos are the perfect tutorial.
Like how straightforward this was and the ✌🏾at the end

I di them on chest day which follows backs so I get a double dip..
@@stephanreichelt2700 You're really hitting one or the other
@@joshdh46 I figure they work in tandem; like delts&pecs
What is different from this and laying your body entirely on the bench?
I was convinced it said the dumbest pullover, was expecting a massive fail... Realized it's a plain pullover
Most under-rated exercise
I feel like my shoulders gonna broke
Great advice just stop yelling 😂
its so awkward getting up after this at the gym 😂😅
didnt think to do a reverse plank thing like that, good idea
I feel this way more on my triceps, what am I doing wrong?
I was always told to keep the hips lower than the ribs on this movement
Quick, easy, simple
I'm gonna try this today.
It helps, but I feel my triceps too much, any tips?
Sweet move for repairing bad posture!
Is this effective for triceps??
Thanks for the tutorial!
You don't need to come up so high.
Great video
my favorite workout
love this move
Great old school traininf
I love this exercise. Nice and heavy
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome. Grade: A++💥
Not the skull crusher 😎

You need to pull your shoulders back, and squeeze your lats to raise the dumbbell. This exercise primarily targets your pects, lats, and triceps
Isnt this for chest ?
For both
They are more for chest than back but do work the back as well.
Those shoes tho 🔥
In my opinion the dumbell pullover hits the chest and rib cage area harder than the lats, And the machine or barbell pullover hits the lats harder.
If you keep your elbows bent and not straighten all the way out you feel it way more in the lats
Both my shoulders dislocated doing this one
EXCELENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!💪
This hurts my shoulders
I can get the same workout with doing cable straight arm pulldowns, correct?
Similar yes but not quite the same
Kills my shoulders....in a bad way. I had to stop doing them
What are you doing for lats now? This hurts my shoulders when I extend my arms

Bad starting position, bad form too. Great vid😅
Difficult for me as my shoulder is dislocated
Damn this made me anxious. Imagine your hand slipped and it fell on your face
highly unlikely because you are holding it with both your hands. it is a very secure and firm grip
Wait why shouldn't you lay fully
@@arlentan apparently puts more focus on lats when its more core and glutes but ye
Stop yelling at me
My arms gave up and a 6 kg dumbbell fell on my face and broke my nose.

why I bought a nice set of dumbbells and bench for these things at home
What if i lie in bed
Sleep = muscle, workout is scam only sleep 😇
Why are there no comments
He's doing the exercise wrong... You're supposed to drop your hips, as opposed to having them parallel to the floor, it helps with the stretch.,
Per Buff dudes
This is wrong on multiple levels
That comment is useless.
thanks man i didnt even know how many mistakes i was doing
This is a chest exercise 🥸
i feel it in the chest not lats. Is that wrong?
I would definitely expect this move to be felt in the chest.
It hurts my triceps i don’t know what i’m doing wrong
I WISH I felt it in the chest. I feel it in my shoulders
Nope, no lats on my end, just chest..
🔥
Isn't this for chest?
It mostly works the lats but it may not feel like it because the lats are big muscles that are hard to fatigue
You can incorporate it on a Chest or back workout.
yep
Favourite hêre tô
siiiiiiick
This is a chest exercise not lats
It is more lats than it is chest but its actually both
Did not work

@JusMichae1-b9f it actually worked for me recently 👍
