The thing is I feel like his performance as Spider-Man overshadows his other roles where he's a genuinely good actor. He was great in Brothers, Wonder Boys, Pawn Sacrifice, Cider House Rules, Pleasantville. I feel like the camp of the Raimi films makes people forget that both he and Kirsten are good. I'm really rooting for Kirsten to get an Oscar nom for Power of the Dog.
The video spelled his name wrong. Their opinion is invalid. All his Spider-Man films were great. It's only popular to say SM3 wasn't good. They were all epic. None of the new Spider-Mans ever inspired me to do gymnastics or have dreams of web-swinging like Tobey's movies did. And Spider-Man 2 was the staple for any open-world game today. Still very fun to play.
Tobey's acting for both Peter and Spidey was phenomenal and genuine.

Honestly the evil peter parker was the best "feel good" scenes in the entire franchise. He didnt really harm anyone and finally stood up for himself after getting taken advantage of by everyone.

Sam raimi started writing Spider-Man 4 and got well into it... he gave up on it because he couldn't get the script where he wanted it. Sony never denied it. Also Peter Parker is supposed to be a socially awkward kid, once you add some attitude to a socially awkward nature you get bully Maguire. He played it perfectly
Exactly. I feel like Anakin Skywalker had the same issue. Hayden Christensen *COMPLETELY* nailed his role. His lines were perfect for a weird twisted person and the delivery was on point.
Tobey's Peter and Hayden's Anakin are very underrated. I'm not saying they are the greatest actors alive but their performances really fit the roles. They didn't have to be like Phoenix to make the characters look realistic awkward dudes.
Hollywood made people think only attractive and/or well spoken characters can be the protagonists of a franchise, so when they see a character who doesn't fit these characteristics, the actor and franchise get sent to limbo.
Also, I know Tobey and Hayden aren't ugly. But can you imagine if their characters were played by somewhat ugly dudes too? lol
People applaud Hollywood for being inclusive for adding more women and non-white people, but they always pick good looking actors and actresses for the leading roles, even when they are casting these minorities. Fat artists usually have the looks too or the "good kind of fat", especially for women (men can be fat-fat but for leading roles they are also ignored).
Really, Adam Driver is the only ugly guy I've seen as a main role guy but that's basically because his acting and voice are just too good to ignore. Okish actors and actresses without the looks are just doomed. Regardless of how good Leo became as an actor, can you really see him getting the role for Titanic if he were below average? Of course not. Just try to picture Titanic with a below average Jack and Rose couple.
Anyway, Hollywood only gives what people want. They can't risk casting alternative actors or else it will feel "off", like it happened with Anakin and Bully Maguire. The characters were so well played that they became humorous, which is exactly how many people would react to the socially awkward characters these two played.
Thankfully Marvel-Disney love money so much that they gave us Tobey as Peter and will also bring back Hayden for a Star Wars show.

NWH just wouldn't be completely insane with all 3 of them in the movie. Villains in the movie already kicked expectations super high but Marvel and Sony managed to surpassed everyone's wildest dreams with all 3 Spidermen as well. For me, this is the best superhero movie out there. No jokes I rate this movie 10/10, and I literally can't even see with all the respect in the world those who rate it less than 10/10. This movie for me surpassed everything Marvel ever made till now (including Endgame), and they can only go up from here. Im not expecting any new crazy multiverse movies (Doctor Strange 2 tho), and im not expecting any super-hero movies that will completely break down Hollywood... But I seriously think Marvel finally did what we all wanted for almost 20 years. And for that I have HUGE HUGE respect for them. Both Marvel and Sony opened my eyes to what big companies are capable of doing together when they put their differences aside.

I saw Spider man of Tobey and Andrew when I was in high school and like I didn’t see it again in over a decade. It’s just movies like others movies in HBO. I like it but not get into it. BUT. after watching 3 films of Tom and I decided to watch again all Spider man movies. And I’m really happy cause I did that. Tobey and Andrew are awesome. I didn’t realize spider man can fight the way the spider man should fight in Tom Holland’s films. I hope some one can get my idea. Their fight scenes, Spider man of Tobey and Andrew, for me personally, are true spider man fight scenes. They use web shooting and jumping and crawling, I feel like I see the real spider man, like that’s exactly how spider man fight. I don’t feel that way in Tom’s films, sad but true, that’s my feelings, too much fight with hands, like normal fighters, he can do flip but not the feeling that spider man. Just a fighter in spider man suit with web shoot. Tom is great actor but his scenes just not enough for me, not give me the feel like Tobey and Andrew’s. I like the love between Spider Man and Gwen more than with MJ but Tobey is Spider man, for me too.

Not even Andrew's amazing performance as Spiderman and I even started to like Tom in his Spiderman films. But seeing him again after almost 15 years in NWH brought hope to me that finally Marvel and Sony has come to a sense and agreement about how to make fans go wild. They really pushed all the right buttons in this movie and it completely blew me away. This movie was done so freaking well, that even people which never saw any of Tom's Spiderman films could come in and enjoy this movie for what it is. The biggest explosion of a movie by Marvel ever made. Endgame was amazingly good, but this was absolutely bonkers!

Nope originally Rami vanted vulture instead of Venom and eddie was already in the script and gwen was added since Rami already had written another girl role the movies was always that crowded and was originally planned to be split into 4 movies but the writters did not find a satisfying end for the first part so they made it in to one movie

The best part about Tobey and his spiderman was they both made themselves from scratch. Tobey in real life had to struggle a lot in his childhood and became a millionaire in the 2000s. He channeled all that into peter parker and played the role so well.
The other two spider-men were amazing but again do not come close to Tobey because he revolutionized spiderman and the MCU. the MCU movies were nowhere close to DC before 2002.

SPOILERS FOR NO WAY HOME:
When Andrew Garfield first showed up in No Way Home, the audience in my opening day theater cheered and screamed for at least 30 seconds. When Tobey showed up, not only was there screaming, but at least a half dozen people were so excited, they literally got out of their seats and started running around the theater hollering. In almost 40 years of going to movies, I've never seen an audience react like that.
cause tobey was a big part of many peoples childhoods man! he was the first GOOD live adaptation of spider-man! I was a spider-nerd since 1986, i was drawing him, and web slinging off counches since i was 3. I knew everything about him, then the movie came out n everyone was suddenly a fan. was kind of triggering at the time for me LOL, im like "U KNOW NOTHING!!"
I wish I can experience that, itwould have been awesome but sadly the movie is delayed in my country and most of us already know what will happen because of so much spoiler. I doubt people will cheer here because its no longer a surprise :(
