  • This is a brief Vid of my aviation ventures that led me ultimately to my banner towing business at the old Meadowlark Airport in Huntington Beach CA. It was not easy to cull the many Pix I accumulated while there starting with a flight in 1955 and ending in 1989.

Hey Bob, my name is Dan, my mother is Linda Liem. I spent a considerable amount of time as a little kid at Meadowlark in the mid to late 80's and have a ton of memories of what it was like before it closed. I got my PPL some months back and constantly transition thru Los Alimitos airspace low, tracking straight over where Meadowlark would have been. All these videos you post help paint a picture for me of what it would have been like flying the pattern, or what it might look on a warm summer day, from the air. Please keep posting these videos, I'm sure there are tons of people like me out there, who are extremely appreciative. Thanks

Thank you for Sharing! I was a little kid growing up (1965-1970) in the little homes east of the golf course (View Circle). Always looking up and remembering the sound of throttled back small planes turning base. It made me a pilot too.

I used to fly into Meadowlark airport to visit my friend Bob Higby, he had an old Rearwin I think at the time. I flew in with my Midget Mustang in the late 60s. I was based at Aqua Dulce Airport in the Saugas area. Best flying ever. Those days are over.

I think I might've seen one of your last banner drops from Meadowlark. My Grandfather flew his Cessna 182 out of Meadowlark for a couple of years and then moved it to Corona after it closed. After on one of my last flights with him there we were watching a plane with a banner come in, do some wild swings from wide to side before releasing the banner and flying off. This would have been Summer 1989.
