It looks like a decent product, anything that reduces screen taps into sub menus piques my interest. I agree the overall aesthetic is cumbersome though.
I see what some of the Aliexpress packages come with which is an USB cable that has one end with a right angle port and the other end is a straight port. So you connect the right angle USB-C port to the button bar so that you can route the cable to the back side of the display and the straight USB-C port end goes to the USB-C port in the car to power the button bar. It is smart and avoids the necessary hanging of the USB-C cable from the underside of the button bar.
Very awesome accessory!!! Not thrilled about the USB C cable, but there’s really nowhere to draw power from in that area, so I get it, awesome video as always my friend!

If the center knob could be used for volume control it would be even better
It has potential but needs A LOT of work. USB cable situation is hideous. Having a door opener and Autopilot on the same button is a bad idea. Some buttons make no sense it’s easier to access the actual controls like gear selectors or turn signals, whereas seat position control is a smart one. S3XY Knob is still a better implementation of this shortcut knob/button plate concept.
You can mitigate the USB-C cable by using a right angle USB-C port on the button bar end so that you can route the USB-C cable to the back side of the display and then the other USB-C end can be straight or also right angle USB-C port to keep things neat.
Okay the fact they added buttons for, buttons that is way better placed on the car, show this is made for the Higland not the "old" 3 and Y but looks great.
the idee is good. For me its not ok. The placement of the usb is a letdown. And the main for not buying is the position of the buttons opening door being first ext useless If the buttons where programmeble and the logos where not a print maybe it was a buy. For now the Sexy buttons are way better
Hate the usb connection and some switches are useless for model 3 unless you have the new model. So if they can program the switches and a different power option would be a game changer.
Great informative video. Thank you. I purchased and had this installed yesterday. Unfortunately the installer only had a Celsius unit, not Fahrenheit so I purchased it anyway. Is there a way to update the unit to read Fahrenheit instead of Celsius through a OTA update?
Installed it few days ago, but anything to the right of the scroll knob including the knob doesn’t work properly, for instance non matter how high or low it go on temp and fan speed through knob, it will go back to original setting right away, try to turn on dome light, it comes on only for a split second. Any idea what’s going on?
Hey Shiva, Nice videos and thanks for all the education on the new products for tesla. However, I am not really seeing any values for the button functions. Why are these product manufacturers not adding more useful functions to the buttons vs moving seat back and forth, reclining, locking/unlocking doors etc. Why can't they add more useful functions such as volume on/off or increase/decrease, change the audio input, wiper function etc that we use more often during driving. Which will help reduce drive distraction and avoid digging thru the menu. Or can they not allow the user to add the functions they want from the list of useful functions. May be you can suggest the manufacturers since you are marketing them almost for free. All the above cribbing is about the product features and not about your videos. Anyway, great videos and great job. Thanks
Hello dear I do like the sexy Knob and dash screen as well but I had to remove the front connection for the commander in order to install the screen connection power I wish if they can provide double power connection for both Cable or you can tell me from where I can buy it because I don’t like the back power connection for the commander?
Hey Shiva, Have you ever experienced massive battery drain as "vehicle standby" from any of the accessories you've installed? I'm sending my car back to tesla under warranty for this issue and they are trying to blame the accessories as the issue. Thanks for your time!
I purchased and installed the physical button console a couple days ago. I plugged in the USB charger and charged the unit (rechargeable battery) over 8 hours. The red light on the console still stayed red? When I unplugged the USB, the unit does not work and has no power? There is no on/off switch. Is my unit defective because the only way the unit has power is having the USB cord attached which should not be the case. The unit has the built in rechargeable battery.
@@alansun7698 I believe this unit only works with the power cable plugged in. Since it has ambient light, the rechargeable battery would run out quick. Mine didn't even come with the battery.
Did the install, but half the stuff won’t work, control knob setting keeps on going back to original settings, won’t change the temperature or fan speed, interior lights comes on only for split second.
That is how 3rd party accessories work. Shiva explained it because 3rd party accessories are not allowed to write to the Tesla system display UI but can write to the Tesla system functionality because Tesla doesn't allow them to. This is why you can get the desired functionality whether that is increasing/decreasing the fan speed or increasing/decreasing the temperature to work but the display UI cannot be updated. Its not the 3rd party accessories fault but Tesla wanting to keep those features proprietary. It works the other way where if you use the Tesla screen to update the fan speed, it will be reflected onto the 3rd party accessory the fan speed on the buttons bar because that signal is being sent to update the Tesla display UI.
@@ShivaSapkota I would hope the PRD gear buttons have safety features too especially if you are above a certain speed especially if you accidentally touch them.
Any sort of button bar or 3rd party accessory will need a power source in order to keep it running. But like Shiva said there is the S3XY knob needs power but since it resides where the 2 USB-C ports are located it is hidden but make no mistake that it still needs a power source.
It looks like a decent product, anything that reduces screen taps into sub menus piques my interest. I agree the overall aesthetic is cumbersome though.
Yeah the power cord is a miss, not a bad product but it's not something I'd want as the function shortcuts are 50/50 in terms of being useful

Cool in concept, but looks a bit janky.

Very complete and thorough video as usual. Not sure it's for me but it's fun to see!
Great job on you views of this product!
If they put mini LCD screen on the toggles it'll just cost more. It's really a cool add on.
I like it! But the cable killed it for me

It's a nice control. Don't like the USB placement on the buttom and basically wouldn't use most buttons. But it's a nice product.
Can this be used in conjunction with the swivel mount for the display?
👍
Sorry but that is very dated looking

Is there a way to update the unit to read Fahrenheit instead of Celsius through a OTA update?
Can you go to the usb in the glovebox?
You can use an "L" shape USB C connector for a better aesthetic and hide the connector that is hanging out.
Yeah that does make it a little better but still they need to figure out the wiring where we can completely hide the cable. Thank you.

Does anybody know if there's any battery drain issue if you plug it in in the glove box and sentry mode is turned on?
will this work if you have a rotatinig hinge for the screen ?
Did they address any firmware updating? Like is the product able to be software updated if Tesla sends a firmware to brick it?
They say they can do OTA (likely through phone's bluetooth and download some app) but I don't know honestly. Thanks.
Yes, we can do ota

Didn't you have a swivel screen mount? I was curious if it would fit would the swivel mount installed
Yes, please check the timestamp, this does work with a swivel kit. Thanks

Might have an issue with a tilt screen.
I just added chapters to the video. I actually show this installed on a swivel kit. Thank you.
Love the videos and product reviews. Can this be used with Sexy knob and/or add on stalks for Highland models?
Yes, I have the S3XY knob, buttons, Teslogic and a few more and I am still able to add this :)

@Top Shelf Tesla. Does this work with the screen rotation kit? I like to have my screen pointed towards the drivers seat.
Yes, you can
so bug that temp. not change corresponding to screen

Yes, whatever Tesla safety transfers to this button. For example, pressing the trunk on this button doesnt actually open if you are in motion. Thanks!

Tesla spends years designin the cleanest essential interiors.
Then came the modders…🤮
Yea looks crappy to me!
