  • We took a trip to Buenos Aires to start our look for some of the greatest fans in rugby, and it is in Argentina that we found a unique love of the game. Juan Leguizamón shows us around this atmosphere that is unlike any other in world rugby.

    No, the real fanatics are the ones who volunteer to coach, paint lines, wash kit, and run the local club no matter what the season record is. The unpaid administrators and board members who invest their expertise, enthusiasm, money and time to make grassroots rugby work, year after year, should be applauded. The unseen, the unappreciated, and the unacknowledged rugby enthusiasts who World Rugby rarely mentions while benefitting from their sacrifices. No international travel, swanky hotels, expense accounts, and award banquets for them.

    • @hernan5940

      But most people on the stands are paid members, who most likely play or played and many are involved in different aspects of the clubs. That is the way it goes in Argentina. I even sold raffle tickets for my club while playing for the same club. It is a common occurrence.

      Not at all like football. I was there, total respect for the opposition. Fans and players. It's a safe family environment. In a country like Argentina that is a mess. On everything but sports.
      CUBA won that game and SIC supporters stayed passed the final whistle. Still singing and supporting their players. It was a battle on the field and a party in the stands.

    • @emilianobaldi5524
      @emilianobaldi5524 2 года назад +1

      Yes, it has resemblances to football, this is what Argentina is... this is Us... but is not exactly the same, here in a football match the fans are separated by a fence and there's a lot of anti-riot police, the songs are mostly to make fool of the other team rather than to support your own, etc.
