@@turiduTu sais en 2013, je suis allée aux feux du 14 juillet à Paris. C’était magique pour moi et tout le monde critiquait. Même les clochards entre eux … Ils auraient fait une cérémonie plus élaborée, ils auraient dit que trop d’argent a été dépensé et que ça aurait pu aller ailleurs etc.

Mostly underwhelming but there were strong moments like when La Peña Baiona Rugby Heartland region's Anthem kicked in @17:00 and ignited the public's passion. Goosebumps.
France is not the same as the 80's and 90's, there is so much that has changed, so much descrimination mainly because of all the different nationalities, there's so much more negative things there but I won't mention, you maybe a little disappointed at some aspects of France, if your there for only a few days France is ok, if your there for longer all the negatives will make its way to you, you don't have to go nd find em
This mythical "Ovalie" village is supposed to represent the South-West rugby heartland of France not the whole of it so yes it is actually not that caricatural. But aim for the South-West not Paris, Lyon, Marseille etc... Think, Auch, Pau, Condom-en-Armagnac, Montauban, Albi, Bagnère-de-Bigorre, Mazamet, Lannemezan, Saint-Gaudens, Lupiac etc... Gascony, Béarn, Dordogne etc etc maybe up to Bayonne, Biarritz, Bordeaux and La Rochelle to extend to the Atlantic and Basque parts.

I liked the concept a lot but you can tell their was more heart than budget... No worries we are here for the rugby anyway. The Peña Baiona was a great touch and if they had distributed lyrics to all seats it may have made it the most participative opening ceremony in RWC history since most fans were participating to the chorus already... They missed an opportunity not doing a 100-people long paquito across the stadium with people representing all the participating countries being flipped about across it but maybe for the closing ceremony? ;)
