I played this on Xbox when the game had a promotion competition in Australia. You had to post the quickest lap time for the assigned track in a set period of time. I managed to win a few rounds. Bathurst was one of them. Some of my best memories. Thanks for the video!
2005. The Toca rd3 is called "V8 Supercars 3" here but it's exactly the same game. Yes you're right the '3' does look a lot better and this view was the worst of the "2"...but it's the view that I race with. I live near Bathurst and still enjoy playing this one. V83 is in the discount bin now and I might invest in a copy if I can get my two kids off the PS2.
@tr3egUy ...I live about 20 mins from Bathurst - the representations of Bathurst on 2 & 3 are as close as a game could get. 3 has a flatter, wider view when compared with 2 but both are good . I regularly drive around Mnt Panorama you probably experience it from tv.
I use the analogue sticks for steer and accelerate - I find if I redline it and then give it a little double pump as the light changes you can get good traction off the start...thanks for your comments.

@tr3egUy ...it's a difficult track to get perfect but it comes pretty close in my estimation...and 3 got better. The gradients look different depending on which drive view you use as well.

(it was allowed in this version so I used it rather than run up the arse of the ones in front) This was never meant to be a display of driving perfection but rather a challenge to someone else to upload a faster four laps around Bathurst so I could respond. I guess I could update with a vid of 3 but I've lost interest.

It's a no-no on V83 because you can't do it.I've beaten the A1 on 110% and my best lap time is 1.46.17. I deliberately started at the back to make the vid more interesting. How about upping a better 4 laps? This was a 'first take' and I'll up a better time w/o the grass cut this w/e

I dislike you for commenting on a 12 year old video - it was one corner to avoid a collision. It was allowed in the game, it hasn't been in V83 which came out around 10 years ago.....and either put up a better 4 laps or shut up - same thing I've been saying for 12 years, not one critic has.

Your tyres would have been screwed after 1 lap and cutting Hell corner every lap would have seen you get a drive through
They weren't , they lasted the four laps and cutting the corner was OK in 2 so what's your point exactly ?

If you ever get to Aus the Bathurst track is just a public road about 350 days a year.
Yep, all PS games are backwards compatible. There's a V83 that's an improvement on this and is already in the discount range.

I know. it's pretty mind blowing to me. it's a brilliant track.
Race driver series tend to present "the edge of grip" of the tires by skid marks but it's not like you were drifting, just a visual effect to warn you
