Hitman contracts really makes it to a darker aspect rather than "haha badass bald man kills other people and looks sick while doing it." It really fits and shows you how fucked up it can be for a hitman game can take the risk of being dark for once
I remember I had the HD collection of Hitman 2 through Blood Money as a kid and got too scared to paly Contracts after getting to the Meat King mission
@iliasm492 remastered just means upgrading the graphics and the textures, it can still be dark like we've seen with Resident Evil and other horror games that have been remastered
Well said bro, i definitely agree, we actually need all the old hitman games remastered, just as resident evil 4 was remastered, and still has his magic like the old one. @@sydguitar99
@ap_pwrlft8098 fr man, I really liked the dark theme hitman 3 had with the sound track and atmosphere and I can imagine with the mechanics and engine, the games would be amazing
I actually started playing contracts as my first hitman game and luckily for me, I didn’t get spooked at the meat kings party, knowing it’s the most disturbing mission in the game
ive been binging old hitman games these past few months, just finished silent assassin and jump straight to contracts. Contracts is like walk in the park for me, now i get why people praise the game. crazy ambience vibes. this is definitely a horror game
@wazzhell I highly doubt that there's anything like this one though. It's too obscene to be taken seriously. It's like a 10 year old's writing of what "Satan's" house would be like. It's laughable.
@@TheFirstCurse1It's no less realistic than any of the other games. the first game littelry had a midget pimp selling nukes to the Austrians. Hitman blood money had the fake death serum. Hitman 3 had the entire ICA Data facility hiding underneath a city. In a world where bohemian grove and Epstein's island exists, I'd argue the meat party is a lot more believable.
I really hope that they pay more attention to overall aesthetics and theme in the next Hitman games. World of Assassination trilogy, while being good games overall, just lacked the uniqueness of previous games Absolution included.
I wouldn't say they lacked uniqueness as such, there's some really dope stand out missions but I get what u sayin. I'd like another darker game like contracts or elements of cn47
They purposely went back to big open world sandboxes because that's what made the series popular in the first place. There's a reason Absolution is the black sheep, they almost destroyed the franchise with it. Like I and many fans of the series always say, it was a good game sure, but a HORRIBLE Hitman game. If they had just made it but with a different character in a different universe, it would have been a LEGENDARY game probably. Instead it's mostly loved or loathed simply because it's based around the Hitman series.
@@lawea957 Ye so the background to that mission is you're rescuing the clients son from an upcoming human hunt. I guess to me it ain't any worse than hunting any other animal which is why I didn't include it lol but a lot of people wanted me to
Curtains Down and You Better Watch Out could have been featured due to the context of those missions, you take down a child trafficking ring in Curtains Down and in You Better Watch Out you kill the son of the client.
Would’ve thought you’d mention Traditions of the Trade. You know, with the gruesome murder in the dark and eerie closed off wing, and the ghost that haunts all the rooms in that wing.
From being chased by swat teams in a mental asylum and escaping the asylum undetected to a fucking slaughter house or club where guest in masks and creepy guards asking to feel our flesh and butchers sexing with a Ghost of a dead is probably the most disturbing ones compared to the first 2 missions in blood money
when in Contracts they have you kill the PI in the biker gang mission I knew Contracts was built different, I don't think he deserved to die, he wasn't no bad guy I guess, if anything you may even call him law enforcement
Watching this TOP I realize the HITMAN series is not as dark as I thought it to be. Besides the Asylum and the Meat King missions, every other level is pretty much a happy one (?). Like a classical action game with cartoon enemies: the Gun Runner, the Drug Dealer, the FBI protégé, etc. I had not realized this… interesting. Could have sworn HITMAN had gone in a way darker tone… of course with some exceptions on the context of the level: like the kidnapped son of a rich man who will be hunted for sport (The Beldingford Manor). But it's not seen, just implied. Still it would go 3rd in my top for the context. Have not yet played World of Assassination Trilogy, but I'm sure it's not darker. Anyways, hopefully I will get it for Christmas. :)
NGL I kinda wish I swapped A Dance With The Devil for Beldingford manor. The first game had it's dark moments and Contracts was dark. It's more so the atmosphere that made it dark though and not always the objectives themselves.
This is why playing Contracts was a shock at the time. H1 and H2 were pretty light and cartoony, then comes Contracts and it's almost a horror game in some moments. Despite how it scarred me as a child, I still love it. WoA Trilogy is not dark at all, as you've said it's pretty cartoony. I think Contracts is the darker Hitman, Absolution has it's dark moments but it's cartoony, and so is blood money
I get where you're coming from. But the slaughterhouse mission in particular felt very cozy to me. It makes it so easy to feel myself good while playing as a hitman, whereas some missions actually feel disturbing because I'm committing murders in the midst of innocent bystanders, giving them a traumatic experience and such. Also, the hitman profession is kind of cowardly and sleazy, you're literally sneaking up on people who do not expect it, so it does help to be the guy firmly contrasting against the wicked ol evil shit to justify the whole 'hitman' premise, which in itself is disturbing.
It's the idea that there are a load of people that like hurting animals and people that I find disturbing. It's only mission where I always gotta kill none target, meat kings brother
