- This is Karin Smirnoff, Swedish author extraordinaire. With her book ’The Girl in the Eagle’s Talons’ (The English edition will be released in August 2023), Smirnoff has taken over the torch in the world-famous Millennium series started by Stieg Larsson (1954-2004). Once again, Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomqvist cross paths, this time in northern Sweden.
Prior, Karin Smirnoff has captured both Swedish and international audiences with her straightforward storytelling and sparse language in the violent but gripping Jana Kippo trilogy.

I heard about long dark winters are the source of Swedish inventions and creativity . It seems very true. It is not a suprise to see, Swedes are quite well designers and thinkers. Personally, I love them. ❤
@@sweden I am sorry about the dark side. I just wanted to mention that the innovate power of Sweden. I know long dark winters also bring many problems and negativity. However, I believe the negativity pushes us forward to positivity if we won't let the negativity wins.

I grew up during the 1970s in a house that always had somebody reading a 'yellow book' from the library -- for some reason, all the Swedish crime novels came in a yellow jacket. I look forward to reading Ms Smirnoff.
