I love your respect of the deceased bird. So reminds me of Native American Indians and how they honor all of nature, even when it’s ‘life’ has been exhausted. Giving thanks to its existence and the honor of sharing the universe with each other.

Hello from, the US, I love this video so much! The connection between humans and wildlife is so deep, but we forget that they are wild and must be treated as such. The boundaries between us keep them safe and I love seeing others who understand this. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. 💚

Love watching your work and commend your patience. I have Mourning Doves that fly into my sliding glass doors. I will hang stuff now that I’ve learned your trick, thank you. The things you called mushrooms on the trees are actually shelf fungi. They are part of the end life of the tree and a cycle of forest life. There are many different kinds so I am sure the forestry group of Sweden has data on them for your area much like we do here in the US. I have discovered many in the Appalachian forests hiking in the WV mountains of the Monongahela National Forest. Keep up the great work!

An incredible watch, Dani! I, too, once had a bird strike on my storm door. I heard a loud thud and opened the door to see a bird violently fluttering face down on my porch. I had left the inside door open and it couldn't see the storm door glass as it was trying to fly inside my home. The guilt was horrible but I was lucky as my bird survived. It took about an hour of me gently stroking it's head while it sat in a box with a warm towel. After some nudging it perched on my finger. I took it outside to see if it would fly away but it didn't...at first. After about half an hour of us sitting together on my porch, I placed it on a tree branch. It swayed on the branch from the breezes for a long while...and then just flew away. I have never, ever left a window free of a hanging object since then. When you stroked the bird's feathers while it lay at rest, I cried for you both. I know the connection you felt and I understand it. If you ever wonder why we, your patrons and subscribers, all respect you and appreciate and contribte to your work, this is just one of a hundred reasons why. We love the realness and spontaneity that leaps out of our screens when we watch your videos. You are a wonder and a treasure. So until your next incredible video I send all my best to you (and Juan!).

I was very happy to hear you talking about setting boundaries on your interactions with wild life.
I wish more of the "wild life loving" youtubers who try to make pets out of wild animals would realize that they destroy the very essence of wild life.
I really admire your respect for the nature we all have on loan for the short time we walk on this earth.

Also, I’m a sucker for some aurora footage so that was great to see, and I love hearing people’s reactions when it kicks off!! Thank you for the opportunity to escape for a few moments. 😊

Hi Dani, Love your wildlife videos.👋Solution för not getting birds going in to the windows --- we live here in Kungsbacka Sweden - Forest by our side. Lot of squirells that we feed every day. For the bird protection we have drawn with a white marker pen- vertical parallel lines on the windows. About 10 cm in between and it really works. No more birds getting hurt. All our friends thinks its a alarm system🤣 Hälsningar från PW

Hi Dani: We used to have birds bang against our large picture window in the 1960s when I was growing up in Houston, Texas, USA. The birds would be stunned, but then recovered and flew off. I can't recall any dying but it was so long ago. Since moving to Seattle, WA I have put Accipter hawk shadow stickers on my window that I bought at the Audubon Society Store. The Bullfinch probably saw its reflection and thought it was another Bullfinch invading its territory. Your solution of hanging pom-poms and pine cones is wonderful! I love your photography of the red squirrels and how much you respect nature's boundaries plus let the wild animals and birds teach you. Jenny 🐿🐦🦉🪶🐾🦊🦦🌲

Enjoyed the video. Loved your excitement at the Northern Lights. Thank you for your respect towards wildlife. That little bird's life meant something and you honored her in a way most wouldn't. Bird strikes are so awful - I've had a few at my home - and it always breaks my heart. I bought some stickers that I will be applying to my glass door once the weather warms up.

I loved this video. I related strongly to your analogy of the film The Fox And The Girl, which is a film I loved too. I feed and photograph the birds and squirrels outside my own home in the woods. I have big patio windows and have had birds hit them, but luckily they have all been ok. However unfortunately last week a neighbours dog came into the woods by my home and killed one of the squirrels. I was very sad for the next few days and did a lot of similar soul searching about how me feeding them draws them here and considering how close we as humans should get to nature. Putting food out for them obviously helps to get them through the colder months when food is scarce but being wild and wary of us and our human spaces helps to keep them safe. It’s definitely a balancing act. ❤

I love them and the birds don’t mind them at all. I did put up some feeders that were meant for the squirrels and some bigger birds so there isn’t as much pressure on the the feeders for the wrens, finches and chickadees.
