Just an FYI this repair can be done from above. You will just have to remove the serpentine belt, the air intake box and duct and upper radiator hose(which has to be done regardless) to give you the necessary room to remove the fans and radiator. Much easier from above in my opinion.
Thanks for comment (I was looking for another way and here you are bro). I'm planning to replace mu timing/water pump and also radiator, it will be great if I don't have to remove whole bumper cause it is not really nice job.
Do do not have to remove the belt. Just remove the fan shroud first and when removing the radiator lift the left side more than the right to allow mobility to fit the lower radiator nozzle through the clearance of the loop in the "P" shape of the air conditioning hoses. Don't need to remove the bumper either if your hands are small enough to remove the ac/oil rad combo bolts from the engine rad.
I just started mine (one of the fans blew apart and punched a hole in the radiator) I can see how it took 3 days. Wish I had a lift......driveway mechanic it is.
Just one comment, This video was really helpful, But the bolt that is mounted in the front fascia that you show that did not have the nuts on them are really hard to get to. Some of the bolt location were not the same as this. Mine is an 2009 with the 3.5. But again this video made the work really easy actually. You said we didn't need to remove the front end but it sure made the access to thing much better. I would encourage this step. If you a reading this do not take to a dealer for repair. I did the removal in less than an hour.
About to attempt this. Don’t have the money to pay for it, well I do but I’m not about to pay hundreds. Not a mechanic, know little about this stuff but I’ve done work on my charger that’s all learned from RUclips 🤷🏾♂️
As a mechanic, I still come to yt to find out how to do it, since I don't have the repair manual. I just want to see if there are short cuts and tricks to get it done easier than just going at it, without instructions. 👍 Air Force Vet myself. ✌
Nice video, I dont think ill remove my front fascia tho, But i seen you changed the headlights while you had it off, So that makes sense. Nice touch. Can this thing be remove from the top tho?
I've replaced dozens of radiators and every one from the top! 1st don't assume everyone has a lift, 2nd way too much work in the way you did it! Removing the entire front fascia really!
I just lifted mine with a tall jack and came in from the bottom. The a/c lines to the condenser stopped mine from coming from the top. But this video is retarded. They removed way to much stuff that not needed
I have a 07 Dodge Charger Sub lime Daytona that is number 21-1500. This video was very helpful and made the job way easier. I also noticed things in the video that my car doesn't have anymore so also thanks! 👍👌
I agree with some of the other comments. The bolt stud you showed us that didn't have the nut on, it should be explained where that's at and how to get to it because not knowing that made my job of changing the radiator very hard. Having that stud explained would have made my job a lot easier
Okay, so I can do it without taking the front bumber off, but you won't show me how to do it that way. Gotcha. 👍 I did drop the radiator on my 2011 RT, but the 2006 SXT just blew the radiator this morning, at 308,052 miles. I'm sure my next job on it will be the transmission.
You really guys really not helping much when you use the garage lift and put the car in the air. None of us have that to neatly drop large parts with the car 6 footinthe air.

Took me 3 days to do mine, this guy did it in a 10 min video lol
Absolutely nothing wrong with that props to you my man time to get my hands dirty 👍
For reals 😂 😂

Took me 45 mins. No lift, and not removing all the bs they did. You must have some good stuff

There is more to the replacement than what is shown in the video. It's decent to get you started.

How does it come out the top?
Lmao doing the most for a simple radiator
@@JEPBradbury gotta remove the radiator core support at the top that also houses the headlights

Just replaced mine, the radiator drops easy from the bottom using a jack and jack stands

Good video, except most people don't have a lift to remove it from the bottom. Make a video where you remove it from the top.
+Simon Black Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team. 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ

Thank you. Really helpful
Thanks for helping me fix my VEEERHUKLE!!!
To empty the radiator, you turn the drain clockwise or counter clockwise ? Thank you
Where can you find those rubber or plastic seals that clip onto the sides top and bottom of the radiator?
Dealership Parts department or Rockauto. They are necessary to keep the air flowing properly over the radiator.
Hey can anybody help me I have a truck it will start and run but when u take ur foot off the gas it die and will not start back up for a day or two
Love your video its really helpful. Please make some more.
Are radiators for SE and SXT CHARGERS 06 interchangeable?
Vericle
Wish i found your video before i change mind , now it’s always on over heating RPM AND my fan is blowing overtime 😢
What handheld drill or ratchet are you using? What is it called?
Would of been a dope vid if he was to make it outside a shop everybody don’t own that kind of space let alone a jack lol got the car in the air

This the same me for 2015+?
He literally said he moved it for the camera and didn’t have to do all that in the beginning
I pull mine from top took 2 hours
Waste time with this procedure, I took it out thru the top, just wiggled it up past the 2 radiator flex hoses on the right
Flex hoses???
So you not gone tell us how to remove the bolt on the stud bc yours didn’t have one? 😂😒
I thought you would record from the ground lol
This has a lot of useful data in it, no doubt - but your crackhead speedy editing makes things confusing in a,

Joke. C'mon fellas way to much work for the dyi garage guys. If you're doing this for the professional mechanic, then maybe yes.
I gave my hose a nice tug and now I have a larger leak than before.
