About Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada:
Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada is one of the top Japanese Chefs in the entire world and the most popular Japanese chef on RUclips.
At age 10, Terada learned the basics of sushi from his father and then went on to attend RKC Chef's School in Kochi, Japan from 1987-1989. He soon earned a nickname for his fast knife, attention to detail, divine presentation and ability to create new dishes and accents based on traditional Japanese cuisine. After graduating RKC Chef School, he was called to serve under Master Chef Kondo at Yuzuan restaurant in Kochi, Japan from 1989-1992. Mr. Kondo is the master of Kansai style cooking, considered to be the high-end of Japanese cuisine. Terada earned the title Master Sushi Chef by becoming the standing head sushi chef & can serve Fugu (Japan Licensed) to the public.

Chef Hiroyuki Terada is using the Minonokuni Matsu-1573 210mm Yanagi. Super Blue Steel. Can also be used for breaking down whole fish and chickens. But normally for slicing, sashimi, vegetables, meat etc.. This is Chef Hiro's custom specked knife.

This is just another reason i fell in love with sushi, not just the taste of so many different ingredients but the Beauty of it. It can be just as simplistic as a piece of sashimi to a full blown Picasso of fish and other ingredients. I love Sushi!

This was very interesting. Chef Hiro is a master of the traditional style where simplicity with the utmost respect to natures essence is considered to provide balance in taste and presentation. In retrospect, the other individual has a much more modern style with his creation. I found it interesting because it appeared to me that Chef Hiro recognized the differences between them and decided to adapt his style a bit by presenting a more modern approach. Great episode! Thank you for sharing.

I’m in the very beginning of this ‘competition challenge’ as I like so head butting. I like watching Five Star restaurant TV shows mainly for its TeamWork. Showcasing what a sushi restaurant team chemistry can and would look like? For those that cook with fam.. we’ll done.
Great sushi challenge! Of course, itʻd be too hard to judge on taste because there have to be three pieces of each item. Chef Taku from Outdoor Chef Life should get in this game. Heʻs collaborated with Chef Hiro before. I hope he gets invited to the next episode of "Sliced"!

Hiro's definitely looks better to me. I happen to think the instagram sushi pictographers put too much emphasis on the caviar, which they always happen to go heavy on. It's an accessory, not the main portion. In fact, the fish is supposed to be the dressing for the rice. I'm also not a fan of torching such beautiful salmon. The best salmon is not cooked at all and the oils from the fat speak for itself- cooking destroys that subtlety.

Make a real challenge instead of humdrum boring stuff by using exotic unusual water creatures like cuttlefish, snails, sea horses, different variety eels/crabs/prawns/shrimp/crayfish/lobsters, mussels,clams,oysters, etc. And different plant foods like various mushrooms, potato noodles,chestnuts,beans,various seaweed, etc.
