Me reading some of the comments under WAM posts lately:
Everyone: "Please don't take the dubstep route!"
Also everyone: *Doesn't see the multiple times WAM said "We're gonna make what WE want to make and if you don't like it, that's fine!"*
Guys, hear me out - just because you don't like the music doesn't give you the right to beg and plead "Oh please don't go this route! You're this genre! Your old sound was great, why not stick to that sound?" They could drop an apocalyptic folk album next month if they wanted to. Or a polka doom metal album. Stop trying to pigeonhole artists into a certain genre just because "Oh I like the old sound you used to make!" If that's the case then skip this and go listen to the old album. Nobody is stopping you. In the words of Kavinsky: "Don't put labels on music, just listen to it! ✨😎👊"
I personally like the new album. It's one of the heaviest things I've heard in a long time aside from Dav Drallion, and would make great rave music. They made really good sounding Dubstep-style/Darksynth tracks, whatever you want to call it, and this album imo far surpasses the quality of the last two albums, mastering wise. It's clear they've learned over the years and you can hear all the different influences in this album. My personal favorite on this album is Triangle Unicode.
Keep making great music, WAM! And I hope we won't have to wait as long for LP #4! \m/
I agree with you, a lot of people basically force artists to stick to one genre just because "oh it sounds better".
You are quoting my comment, and I feel like I have to defend my stance a bit. Maybe it came of as a hate comment, although I wanted it to be more of a constructive feedback. Yes, musicians will ultimately do what they want to do with their music. Same goes for other forms of art, or anything really. But this doesn't mean people can't express their thoughts and discontent with it. If WAM makes music I no longer enjoy, fine, I'm just gonna stop listening to their new stuff. But I'm a musician as well, and I would appreciate it if people gave me some feedback on why they no longer enjoy my work. It doesn't mean that I have to change to appeal to those people, but I can consider that feedback and if it is valid I can grow from it. To me the dubstep elements in this song don't really fit it the best, although I like a lot of dubstep, but this song feels like a weird in between of dubstep and synthwave. I feel like WAM went a little overboard with the second album but they are on the the right track with this one if they want to mix dubstep with synthwave. And I want to emphasize "to me" and "I feel", that's just my opinion, it's not like they have to listen to it, I just wanted to express myself. Overall though, I think they are headed in the right direction with this album and I wish them all the best and hope they can perfect this "synthstep" blend if they so desire. That's all

Please don't take the dub step route. Your second album was cringe enough compared to the masterpiece which was the first one. I really like what you did with with this album except for this song. Although I have to admit, despite being too dubstepy, it goes well with the overall feel of the album and is not that far off from the style on "Apocalypse". I like some dub step but I would prefer if you stuck to making dark, hard hitting, synthwave, because that is what you do well. Don't go to crazy with the experiments, I'd like to see you succeed. From outer space, with love ;)
