Damien doesn't realize that the coolest video would be only him answering and no one else ever gets a chance.
8:04 Actually, Courtney’s answer is more accurate. No stoichiometry was mentioned so it is to be assumed that Shayne refers one equivalent of oxygen for one equivalent of hydrogen. In which case the answer wouldn’t be H2O (water) but H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide).
If Shayne said 1 mole of hydrogen for one half mole of oxygen then the answer would obviously be H2O but since he didn’t specify the equivalents, the default answer I guess should respect the 1:1 equivalent stoichiometry.

While you are right to some degree, h2o would still rather be created, since it’s more stable, but a lot of hydrogen would stay behind… that’s what happens with the well-known experiment when putting hydrogen in a balloon and setting it on fire. The oxygen around the balloon is enough to react with most of the Hydrogen, yet h2o is created… buuuuuuut (and this is a big but) Courtney was still right, since the possibility does exist for hydrogen peroxide to form

if i were a cast member somehow, i would NOT be considered for this segment. I busted out a sheet of paper to keep my score and banged my table like a buzzer and if i answered before them I gave myself credit...ended with 1650 if i get the double points for Al Gore, then again, I'm only a couple years out of high school and all these categories (except princesses) is right in my wheelhouse, and some of these I learned in my college courses.

Honestly, I feel like Peroxide would be the better answer since the equation given has an equal amount written for each element; so the more evenly distributed H2O2 fits marginally better.

Well, Courtney was technically correct when she was gonna answer hydrogenperoxide (H2O2) for oxygen + hydrogen. The amount of particles weren't specified, so H2O2 is as correct as H2O.
In fact I’d argue it’s more correct since hydrogen and oxygen are both diatomic particles so they naturally exist as H2 and O2 so just saying “Hydrogen plus oxygen equals” would yield hydrogen peroxide

The reaction they meant was the oxyhydrogen test. 2H2O + O2 - - > 2H2O
For it to react into OH- it has to be in solution because OH- is an ion.
A reaction to H2O2 is practically not impossible but technically it is nearly(if not completely) impossible.

I was thrown off by the island question, I could've sworn it was Australia because its about 4 times bigger than Greenland. Turns out it has to do with continental shelves. Greenland is connected to the North American continental shelf while Australia has its own shelf.
Not shelves, just being a continent disqualifies it from being an island.
