Could listen to these two legends chatting for hours...
Absolutely
Lee Sklar always introduces us to the nicest people!
What a character, and a great interview, You don't even have to ask a question, just let him go-- lol
30 minutes in. Junior is supposed to be reading for his jc hist of jazz class. But this video is so riveting it's hard to step away!
Those Town Cars are a favorite for the mob. You can fit 4 bodies in that trunk😉👍
😎👍❤🖖
Love Brother
I saw Greg was hanging with John Mader Saturday and was bummed I missed seeing him...but this is great!
Greg is an incredible storyteller.
Even if he was making it all up, Id still buy it.
OMG when he plays air drums while he talks.....this is too much for me!!! I love this bro.
Nerve Bundle last December kinda made up for The All Star band cancellation! Seeing Steve and Greg playing two feet (or less) away was heaven!
"Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back..?" Priceless. The dialogue between these two is so kinetic! Encore!
How cool is this interview with Greg!! man 😂😍😁❤
Oh, man... Gregg is a hoot!
Who wouldn't want to play music with him? Not to mention listen to the stories and history ..
Thanks, Lee! 🙏🏻🤍💛
Seeing Gregg with Lukather and Jorgen Carlsson (Gov't Mule) at the Baked Potato was a 10. Since I was with Gina and Rik (aka Mr Cohalen), it went to 11.
And I would happily listen to you two spin yarns any day. Gracias!
Hall of Fame post!! Perfect. Thanks so much
Man, he is magnetic! If I had that much energy, I would explode.
Hi ya Winston, 😊
@@splashesin8 👋
Thanks so much for this Lee!!
Greg is an interviewers dream. I swear he doesn't need oxygen.
What a gem!!
And there we have not one, but two National Treasures 🙂 I'm in Wales so I guess it's International. That was wonderful Lee.
This is the ONLY RUclips video that mentions "Spectrum" and Winnie the Pooh. 🤣
I totally forgot about the Joy to the World story. Classic!
SEEN HIM ON RICK BEATO'S CHANNEL AWHILE BACK. REAL DOWN TO EARTH GUY.
Yeah, that was fun!!!!!! Musicians have the best stories!!!!
I love the colors of Gregg's Drums!!!
Lee and Greg, thanks again for letting us all hang with you both and hearing the stories and learning. Also as a bass player I have to agree with you, don't turn your nose up at those crappy gigs. Like you both said, you never know who you will meet. Trixy included.
Man... I just Love these stories! That's the best part of hangs! The stories, the lore the histories!
Gregg's a trip. Such a cool story teller. Really enjoyed this break in my day today. Thanks Lee.
Best episode ever! Bissonette is gold.
awesome interaction with a stellar player and prime life force! crossed paths with Gregg when working with that other Gregg (Rolie,) in 1989. GB is a stone trip, energy-packed, and ever funquisitive - yes, that's a thing. when you deconstruct a rhythm, in order to recreate and thrive inside of it, you've unearthed a prime lode - a vital force, that's visceral and reminiscent of ritual. that's evergreen energy, and Gregg lives and breathes it.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this! Thank you Leland for all these great glimpses into you and your friends' lives! Gregg is a hoot - he has so much energy!
Lee, that was a great interview! I didn't want it to end!
Hi Leland! I love that drummer!
Wonderful Lee.High energy.
What a treat of a video, how enjoyable! Thank you for sharing!
I just love this guy so much. So enthusiastic, so entertaining, and such a great player! He’s at the top of my dinner party guest bucket list (as long as you come too, Lee) 😉
that Stevie story is unreal... this is yet another great GB interview
Lovely Leland, a studio record ❤❤❤
Loved this😃 Big fan of Gregg's. First became aware of him when he played with David Lee Roth. So cool he gets to play along side Ringo.😃😃🥁
Ringo plays the snare beat with his dominant (left) hand ! It is a unique feel ! The videos of Gregg and Ringo together kick royal you know what !!!! Thank You As Always!!!!
Damn that was fun to watch!
Thanks Lee! … I’ve been following Matt & Greg’s careers since their days at North Texas State (now UNT where Professor Brad Leali teaches) … then with the Maynard Ferguson band …
What a fun dude. Love these kind of interviews
This was beautiful!
Was not expecting one of Lee’s videos to include ‘Roll out the barrel! What a great interlude for the day, both entertaining and educational. Thank you!
It makes sense, given his Midwestern origins. I learned the Beer Barrel Polka in utero!
@@hanspeterlillese2225 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you Leland and Gregg. ❤
Great guys, great stories! God bless the Bissonettes.
Well that just made my day thanks Lee and Greg
OMG!! Cafe Cordual! My hang out for Years. ! I was so fortunate to see so many great artists!😊

What a treat this video was!! Gregg's enthusiasm is so contagious. The video is over and I have a huge smile, so entertaining.
A wonderful talk, Lee!
I truly love your long interviews.
What a treat !! Mahalo Leland and Gregg
So special!!! Thank you both
Thank-you Lee, Awesome. I met Gregg after a Ringo show some years ago at a bar that was next to the event. Gregg was so kind and generous to me and chatted for a minute or two. What a great experience for me (as a drummer) This video brought back a great memory.
Listening to this has been the most fun I've had in a month of Sundays! Blessings to both Lee & Gregg!
Great interview. Greg is so expressive, descriptive and good at storytelling with his drums. He seems to be able to imitate anyone at the drop of a hat. Not everyone has that talent. One of your absolute best interviews. What a wonderful gift to us fans and amateur musicologist. You both are legends.
👍👍. Only 8 minutes in but GREAT STORIES!!!!!
Hi M&J, 😊

The Baked Potato is such a great place m, that’s where I saw you the most!
I talked to Gregg about taking lessons with him a few years ago. Life subsequently got in the way. Still hope to even do a one-off with him sometime.

Gregg is someone whose personality has also gotten him far in the business. He is irresistible with his stories.
Hi ya Mark. :)
@@splashesin8 Helloooo Audrey!
❤thank you for sharing this treasure. Gregg has become a huge influence in my life. I became friends with him just before the initial pandemic shutdown. Working on vocabulary in person & in FaceTime . I never get tired of the enthusiasm and inspiring words from this man. He has made a positive impact on not only my professional music career..,More importantly my Life🎼🙏💪🎶🎶🎶🎶
This is one of the greatest videos from you Lee. So casual & intimate and with so many history and stories to share. Love it.
I saw the David Lee Roth show in 1990 and had a lot of fun. Keep having fun Gregg.
It was Steve Vai's birthday.
Leland, thanks for another wonderful time with Greg!
The joy you two bring to the 'little screen' is immeasurable.
With love and admiration always, Dave
Super interview. Love hearing Gregg's stories and how Lee holds back his own narrative to focus on the subject. Thanks.
I Just Loved this Interview !! I Could listen to this guy for Hours. So Interesting and Seems like such a good person.Great Drummer-I think He Can play Anything that someone asks of him buy just trying to explain what you are looking for. Thanks Leland for a Great and Interesting Interview from such a Nice person !!
It never ceases to amaze me Mr Sklar how decent ,genuine and authentic world class musicians are ! You folks could just sit on a beach or play golf or sports around the entire globe if you all wanted to ,but all I see and hear is a desire to entertain , improve and give thanks for the astonishingly high achievements everyone 's career has given we the fans . Another superb video featuring true artists .Thankyou ...
LOVE Gregg! Awesome drummer and always has great stories!
This is by far the best Gregg Bissonette interview! I saw him play many times and had chats in LA and Japan. He's always very humble yet spot on. Thank you Lee for doing this!
Priceless!!! Thank you, Leland!
Thanks Leland for interviewing folks like Gregg Bissonette and giving us fans a glimpse of your world and the exceptionaly creative and talented people in it. Your frequent efforts to share all these fun stories with the rest of us is most appreciated.
Most enjoyable and a reminder that a positive vibe will get you recommendations for gigs. In other words, everybody ( no matter who they are) has a door to the next level up if they feel you deserve it. If you project a downer attitude, those hidden doors will never appear.
Thanks for such an up exchange. 😁
I appreciate you, thank you for making content.
That was wonderful! I had the great opportunity of playing with Gregg for a concert a long time ago. It was unforgettable. He also gave a clinic on Ringo and how great he was compositionally on the drumset for The Beatles. Thanks again Lee!
Oh, I didn’t know about the Winnie the Pooh voiceover with Gregg Bissinette.
ADORABLE lol I met him once and he probably doesn’t remember me. He came to The White Off Room and shared the stage.
😊
Wow one for us drummers. Excellent video Lee and a top dude with great hair for lighting effects. The Funk 49 jam video is one of my favourites. Cheers to everyone.🙏🙃😎
Funk 49!!! 😊😊😊
Thought you would like this Steven, always good to see you here. 👍
👋🏻😊
I know it’s April 2023, but that felt like a Summer of Love interview. Flashbacks, demonstrations, tips, tricks, right-place-right-time stories… a totally for sure groovy video. GB is a hoot!❤
This was phenomenal. Gregg's energy and enthusiasm was fantastic. My life changed forever on February 9, 1964. Since that night I've never lost my enthusiasm for music. I love hearing stories from great musicians about how influential the Beatles were to their interest in music. Lee, please keep interviewing your friends and colleagues. They are fascinating.
Incredible drummer...always looks like he's up for fun!!!!
I just love special treats!!!!
Glad to see he still uses more than one rack tom sometimes; one of my All-Time favorites, Mr. Gregg Bissonette.
GREAT interview! Gregg is such a cool down to earth musician, I love hearing his stories and Lee is plain out legend. This video should have a million views by now, spread the word.
This was amazing talk! Thank you very much Leland and Gregg👍 cheers from Finland🇫🇮
Wow!!! That was one of your coolest interviews ever Lee!! Thank you so much for letting us all sit in and for this wonderful window into the world of the personalities who make the music that we all love and grew up with!! A very special treat!
Thanks so much for sharing this! I could listen to Gregg tell stories all day long!
Two absolute gems just chewin' the fat. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Leland, you and Gregg are kindred spirits.
Could listen to you 2 jaw till the sun comes up.
It’s all been written already but just for the algorithm: what a pleasure to hear you two, what a record of history, thank you both so much!
Who says drummers are introverts. This guy is Great.
Drummers are not introverts...so no one. lol
Neil Peart
Love Greg and Leland. Could listen to them for days! Greg has to be exhausted every night from his energy!
Turned 71 today and I'll think of this glorious hang as a great unexpected gift. Thanks Lee ❤️👍❤️👍
Wishing you a Happy Birthday.
@@hanspeterlillese2225 Thanks, HP.🍷
@@marygiuranna6817 Thank you 😊
Happy Birthday 🎉🎂
Welcome to your eighth decade, I am near closing out on mine with the ninth decade up ahead. 😉
Greg!!! You have the same voice as my wife's cousin, Andrew Shreve, he's a former Paiste rep and now a Gretch drum rep. I learned a lot more about your career and I've followed you for many years. I'm 67 and I'm still out there every weekend playing. RINGO is the guy who taught me how to play drums from age 9 and is my idol . I envy you playing beside him 😉Your ability to play any style is admirable 👏👏👏Love watching all of your videos...if ya get a chance, tell RINGO a little kid from Seekonk, Mass. who is now 67 years old, says "THANK YOU"!!! 👍✌🏼
Amazing Episode! The storytelling is awesome!! Thank you for this..
God bless you guys! Your energies are infectious!
Leland says this all the time!!!!!!! NEVER TURN DOWN A GIG!!!!!!
Gregg is the coolest guy. I hope to meet him one day
It’s 4:00 a.m. and of course I’m wide awake - I see you have posted a new video - this was just - WOW - as always, the best storytelling ever - Thank You! ❤
Gregg was and is so inspiring to me as a drummer, mostly because of his flawless execution in so many different styles of music and his enthusiastic personality. In the mid-90s I had a private teaching gig and joined forces with a guitar and bass player to record "Friends" from Joe Satriani's "Extremist" album. We then provided mixes to our student, sans the instrument they played to practice with and then at the end of the year dragged them to a friend's studio over the space of a couple of weeks and they all recorded "their" version and then we had a massed end of year performance with 10 or 11 students of each instrument performing "Friends" together. That was such a joyful experience. None of those kids thought they could do that at the start of the year and by then end of the year they were loving performing and recording. That song was a perfect match because every part is imbued with the joyful spirit of each of those performers. I reckon Bud & Phyllis did a great job.
