    2008 Yukon Denali. I was getting the "stabilitrak off, traction control off, service brake system" trifecta. Performed this repair using ACDelco D1539J ($8 on Amazon). Took all of 5 minutes and solved my problems. Thanks for the video. It really is as easy as it looks.

      I've got an Avalanche, I've been getting those same errors, and my cruise control doesn't work. I'm glad to know that this should fix all of that!

    Thanks for the detailed camera shots. Changed this part in about 20 minutes in -2 weather, with just a 10mm wrench and a set of keys to pry off that clip. Son now has cruise control again!!

    Bro, I swear on my life, No homo, but If you were standing in front of me right now, I'd kiss you on the cheek...perhaps twice!!!!!
    Here's why. I bought a used 2010 Chevy Avalanche, with 97,000 miles for $11,000. Well, a month after the purchase (this past friday), I got 3 dash notifications, stabiltrak, ABS, and something else, I forget. So I took it to the mechanic. He says "oh yes, your entire brake system is all jacked up, looking at about $2500 for parts and labor." I have 0 patience, and almost just said F*ck it, and paid to get it fixed. Something said hold off and research. So, I did that. That's when I learned the brake switch can send all those signals. So I researched videos in how to change it, and found your life saving, wallet saving video. I'm serious man, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY SOUL.........and pockets!!!!!! Can I come to you with any other questions regarding repairs? If not, this was a great experience, thank you again!!!!!

      i gotta say your stupid for paying 2500 for a 15 dollar fix. but yes ive been there too, we all want shit done fast these days but that also never garantees its gonna be fixed. 97% of all mechanics even the honest ones are all now instructed to con you out of your hard earned money, or they wil get fired. 2022. covid fucked everything up. now all people want to do is con people and scam them, always do reasearch beofre paying annnnytthingg my guy. it less of a bigger headache down the road =)

    If I did everything in this video and somehow that 10mm bolt it was just never there could it be that I don’t have the 10mm bolt that’s it is not fixed or not really been going crazy cause brake lights stay on all the time and I’m not sure if it’s because of that 10mm bolt or completely something else

    If the switch is bad will your brake lights still work?

    • @okcvet1st
      @okcvet1st  2 года назад +1

      When the switch is bad or going bad, it can cause different issues. A few very common issues is speed control shuts off while engaged or won't engage at all, traction control lights emit, brake lights flash or work and then don't. Usually the switch starts failing and causes little things to happen until eventually wears or fails completely.

      Any idea where the switch is on a 2013 Chevy Avalanche? I can't find anything on the brake pedal with wires coming from it.

      My brake lights still worked perfectly but cruise would not. I figured it was a waste of time to replace the switch but did it anyway and viola… cruise control working like new.
