I love Genesis but I feel going all electric so soon will run the brand straight into the ground. Consumers want ICE and hybrids
but ev is less pollution
Ice we don’t want hybrid either! Just saying

Genesis KILLING it!!🤣
1000% They need to keep their eyes on Toyota and Lexus who is taking over.
Lol so much push for all ev vehicles yet our infrastructure is in prehistory times 😂
Infrastructure needs to be updated even if everyone switched to bicycles tomorrow. But for some reason it gets treated as "that's just how it is" and not "let's update it".
"Hyundai aims to produce and sell a total of around 1,132,000 units of these four"
LMAO when Lexus hasn't even reach this level with far more models? I wanna smoke what hyundai is smoking🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣They’ve been smoking too much alright.
Lexus it’s like iPhone. You buying the brand name
@@user-sp3jc9ho6oNo. Lexus reflects quality and not just a brand. Genesis on the other hand is just a brand for snobs that have to have anything other than a Lexus. And iPhone is better than any shit you’re using.
lmao where is naveen who predicted that lexus lost da wae and therefore the is will go before genesis g70?🤣🤣🤣
He’s heading the funeral for the G70.🤣
Genesis is probably discontinuing the g70 due to the inability to compete with the 3 series, IS, and the audi a4
Well Genesis is still on the first generation of that car. I'm not sure what they expected?
When the G70 and Stinger came out, the Hyundai fan boys proclaimed "RIP 3-series". Fast forward a few years and it's the Korean cars getting axed after just one generation.
Oh yes, of course. Because EVs have been doing so well. 🥴🥴
Kirk, Let's check back in 5 years and see how they are catching up to Lexus. 😉
I really like Genesis, unfortunitly they are going all elecrtic and im not interestes ib that!
@BrianEugeneLee193
I like the look of those EVs probably because its basically the same vehicle, but I'd only buy the gas variant.
I was hoping they would come out with a coup before they went electric parts for my Chrysler crossfire and XLR v are getting expensive and extremely hard to find!
@BrianEugeneLee193
I personally love my crossfire, 04, white with red interior, manual transition 65k on the odometer.
Hope they can find some abandoned shopping malls to stack these milkfloats. Ferrari and Mercedes have finally backtracked on their plans. Looks like the adults may finally be taking over the boardrooms.
Genesis has also failed in Europe because their cars are too thirsty and their EVs aren't competitive in range or price.
Europe is pretty damn hard to compete in. Apart from Lexus, I haven’t see any other luxury brand compete well. Acura, Infiniti, Chrysler, and Saab all failed there. Genesis has hype now, but it’s fading fast.
@@mrgurulittle7000 Guess people in Europe aren't as naive as those in America. So much for the greatest country in the world. Can't even get their manufacturers competitive without government incentives (AKA, The Chicken Tax).
@@eivis13Well, it’s not really like that. Europe has been making hot garbage for the last 20yrs and it’s been getting worse. I think Americans are just smart enough to realize that being a patriot and buying local isn’t going to do them any favors. Japanese have proven that they are worthy car manufacturers, but the Europeans seem too self confident.
@@mrgurulittle7000 1 problem here though. Last known good diesel from Japan was sold in 2012(N22A1). Sadly Toyota couldn't make a long lasting diesel engine if their stocks depended on it. Also there were incentives for diesel vehicles between the mid 2000s and sometime in the past 5 years and there was a bit of insider knowledge (you know that at least a third of VAG is owned by Germany?).
We also have a lot of GM (Opel, now part of Stelantis without GM) products here as well as European Fords (guess the only branch of the company that continued to make money).
Also last i checked you're crying about fuel prices, when Europeans have been paying over 5usd/gallon over the past decade (if not longer).
So yes, USA has been making hot garbage since ww2 till the mid 2010s. We took a gander at your 15L/100km(idk, 20mpg, probably less) v6s and V8s, when comparable vehicles have been around us that did the same in -30C in snow in winter traffic and short runs (P.S. those are actually more harsh than any track day).
@@mrgurulittle7000 oh and don't get me started on how you're all " 'Muhrica", Apple has proven that point long ago.
There is a big difference in reliability.
The Toyota Lexus Group was recently caught deceiving consumers by manipulating quality tests for the past 35 years. What is the punishment for that? Toyota cannot be trusted.
@naveenthemachine Why did you delete all your comments?
Because he knew I was gonna show up at the party, and I’m savage as fck when it comes to rubbing-in his mistaken trolling.
Hyundai trying to go bankrupt going all ev by 2025 🤣🤣
Every brand is going ev even lexus
@@Quinton0520 who gonna buy them? Only like 5% 10% ppl want hybrid and NA this is not communist china and sleepy joe mandates on ev killing us
@BrianEugeneLee193 which is why they’re still behind tech wise
@@Quinton0520 not really they just take their time making sure it’s reliable
EV is dying. Plug in hybrid FTW
Evs arent dying
@Quinton0520 former EV early adopter, I wanted it to workout to the point it was a detriment to my sanity lol. Traded it in, lost my ass on it, bought a used 2026 Subaru Outback. Much less stress.
@Quinton0520 put out a 1 ton diesel electric, similar to a locomotive. I'd buy that in a second. No range issues when using a truck for why it's needed for, less moving parts, better traction, great fuel mileage as the diesel powerplant stays in its maximum efficiency power band. 1 motor on each wheel with no range issues, all the benefits of electric torque and power, with the range better than any diesel pick up out there.
My condolences to the G70. I’m trying not to laugh because Lexus wins this round with a decade old car.🤭And we still have the Infiniti Q50 so props to them too for outlasting the G70. Maybe next time for the Genesis fanboys. It just shows how hard it is to compete out there. Watch how Infiniti went off a cliff in a matter of a couple years and how Cadillac is struggling to increase sales. Genesis came in thinking they were gonna “be Lexus killer” but sorry, it’s not how the world works. Lexus is a respected and trusted brand, unlike Genesis who just moved into the neighborhood recently.
Gv70 better than tlx
@@Venomoustoxins2122The TLX sells more. It’s also a gallon more efficient.
The Genesis G70 is being discontinued without a direct replacement, and the ancient Lexus IS is still outselling the entire Genesis sedan line-up combined. No chance Genesis will catch Lexus within the next decade.
@@naveenthemachine yet somehow, the ancient Lexus IS alone is outselling the entire Genesis sedan line-up, combined.
EDIT: Naveen, why did you delete your comment?
The Toyota Lexus Group was recently caught deceiving consumers by manipulating quality tests for the past 35 years. What is the punishment for that? Toyota cannot be trusted.
@@TheBreakfastLover it's naveen he got scared
@@naveenthemachine the G70 wasn't good enough to avoid getting discontinued after just one generation. And why did you delete your previous comment?
I thought that Naveen the troll machine isn’t gonna be here? So he did subscribe to Kirk?
Lincoln could take a styling note from the GV90 since it reminds me a lot of the elegant Lincoln's from the 1960's. The G70 is one of the vehicles I took pictures of at the recent auto show. I think the G70 is beautiful and it appeared the build quality was outstanding, however, it was locked and there were no Genesis show case people to be found. If Genesis wants to sell its vehicles then unlock them at the auto shows and let the public experience them.
Interesting you bring up Lincoln because I think the Lincoln’s have a hint of Genesis and Jaguar in the design. By the way, the MKZ and Continental were some of the most elegant looking sedans ever made.
Why is Genesis going EV? No one is buying EVs, everyone just about hates them. This is a stupid marketing move that will surely sink that brand that is just getting started. BTW getting rid of the G70, the one entry level model into the brand, also very stupid.
No one is buying EV?😂so why is Model Y outselling Rav4?
@@blackwhirlwind1245 Apples to oranges. Tesla buyers are a cult following. People who lick Elons electric balls will buy anything he comes up with and get shocked down the road.
They've backed off of full EV date like most everyone else. They will have many phevs coming soon.
@@blackwhirlwind1245yeah, and toyota sold 11.2 million vehicles last year, compared to 1.8 million of tesla. toyota offers a very wide range of vehicles, meaning sales will be distributed fairly equally to each model, while tesla has only a few models to chose from which leads to highly concentrated sales numbers on a specific model; in this case the model Y as you mentioned. what you pointed out doesn't prove anything
“Nobody” is a quick and easy way to say “I’m an ideologue.”
If Genesis cars last 300K miles without major problems - they have some chances.
They won’t
They will
TIRED OF EV EV EV EV SHIT
Aaaahh! No.
i feel like genesis/hyundai needs a proper halo car for their brand. something like a LFA, or a GT-R...
Gv90 bouta fill up dealer lots. Genesis gonna become the new infiniti(bad)
Except Infiniti is now a cultural icon in “hood” areas. Genesis has no such appeal.
I'm really liking the design choices Genesis has been taking. Would love to see those X Concepts in person. Jealous of David when he went to the reveal of the convertible.
I wanna say something on how Hyundai has been running Genesis. Hyundai has been pouring way too much money into developing entirely new platforms for too many Genesis models while simultaneously not getting enough returns to fund the second generation models. I know that it’s appealing when the luxury division uses a “separate” platform, but it’s really pointless apart from snob appeal, and it’s just a poor business decision.
Look at how Lexus shares parts with Toyota while still being luxurious. Lexus has a few separate platforms for their halo cars like the LC500, LFA, and LS, but the rest is cost effective Toyota platforms that are tuned for luxury cars. Same with Infiniti, Acura, Lincoln, Cadillac, Alpha Romeo, Maserati, Audi, and Chrysler.
Genesis can never afford to be BMW or Benz because they are literally luxury car companies that need a dedicated luxury platform. But Genesis doesn’t need a separate platform and a separate line of power trains to try to take down the Germans or Lexus because in too costly. One thing is for sure that Genesis would never take down Lexus because Lexus has optimized and worked with what they have instead of chasing unreasonable goals like Genesis. I admire their ambition, but it’s too ambitious.
To top it all off, I don’t think this EVfication would help Genesis in any way. In fact it might seal their doom.
Oh, and one more thing. Look at Acura and their high sales when their lineup only consists of 4 cars Honda based, with one GM based EV. Acura has figured it out that they don’t need a full lineup, and that they just need to do enough with what they have to compete. Acura is a much more stable brand than Genesis. Genesis seriously reminds me of Infiniti in the 2017s with all the hype and expectations, except a less efficiently run version.
But they use the same 2.5l turbo but should share 3.8 and not axe the v8
All these will also be discontinued soon😂
Kirk, Unfortunately Genesis Will Crash & Burn ❤️🔥🪦⚰️ IF They Go Fully ⚡EV, Our infrastructure is not 🚫 Ready, yet 😢🤐😞.
Let them learn
@@Demoxx1AGREED 👍
They reversed their decision and are planning hybrids instead of going full by 2025
Just like wen infiniti put cvts
Might have to add dodge on the list that should sell dealerships
I have the GV60 and chose it because I wanted a small luxury EV. There are very few small luxury EVs (
So sad to see the drastic reduction in non-European sedan choices, whether non-luxury, near-luxury or luxury and now that Hyundai is upping their own game, they're cannibalizing off their own Genesis division and yet Genesis is opening individual dealerships. What part of that makes any sense? Not sure if Genesis has any hybrids with regenerative charging but if they don't, it's time to think about it.
here i am hoping North America would see the 3.0 6 pot Smartstream Diesel...
Rather than focus on developing new models, Genesis needs to work on its sub-par, limited standalone dealership network in North America.
This is lame. Honestly. Was thinking about waiting for a new updated 2nd gen G70 for a daily but if they’re only gonna be EV’s… just like everyone else, imma just get a lexus for a daily. An is500 before they’re all gone
You can’t beat the build quality of a Lexus. While there maybe competition, Lexus will always remain at the top!
Nearly 10 years, and we're still asking the same question ❓. Soon becomes the answer.
Infiniti should sell dealerships to genesis so they can get money
I doubt it’s discontinued still a new brand nd sales bump up last year
Nice
That wagon at 00:10 is sexy
As someone who's a Genesis owner I absolutely love my GV-80 and my g70. I work at Lexus and will never plan to go to Lexus because of how good my Genesis are. But what Lexus is does do better by far is having hybrids options and not so quick to go to full Ev. Genesis biggest downfall will be going to ev so soon. They need to move faster on trying to make hybrids for each model they have that will help increase their sales. But if ev us the only route they will go then I won't be buying another Genesis in the future.
How do your Lexus coworkers react to you pulling up in your genesis lol

Just bought a g70 last month. I wanted a tlx s but was a little north of my budget. Warranty is pretty assuring. Not disappointed at all.
They may have a G70 replacement coming in the form of a subcompact crossover because they will probably make a hybrid version of the GV60 since they have hybrids coming. Genesis mentioned their first hybrid was coming in 2025.
All they needed to do was add a full digital cluster for the G70 and mark my words it would have stayed
Me: that new Genesis SUV looks pretty sweet, I wonder how it will drive.
