Piratininga is really increadible. its not a retirement place, it has also a very young public living in the area, its kind of a hidden gem as it was always a difficult area to reach. you are very right to say third world my ass because the standard of living and cost in this area is quite high. there's a side where you can find lots of restaurants specialised in seafood. good footage.
Passion for life comes first in Brazil, not worrying too much about $$. That's the way it should be. So few of us get rich, why spend your life chasing it.. Have fun like you and barber is what everyone should be doing while you're young. Hats off to you two gentlemen. You're motivating alot of people to stop wasting time in the US rat race and start enjoying life.
I went to Niteroi before they built these. Niteroi is a separate city from Rio, but they have great views of Rio from there. Good to leave Rio sometimes and check out the other cities and towns. Another place to stay when I move there.

Depends where you are. In large cities like Rio and SP the public system is over run, short staffed and over worked. In other places you can use it (must be a citizen or resident) and it's fine, same with the public school system.
Usually, it's a mix of several metrics. They can increase their rankings significantly by investing more in public education, less racial segregation, tougher on corruption, more entrepreneurial business opportunities, better infrastructure, and international trade.

Have you Been to Camboriu? Its one of the best beach cities in Brazil and is very organized and clean.
I have been there. In the middle of nowhere, very overpriced, gets really cold in the winter. Only paulistas think it is a good place.
There some serious money in Brazil especially the people that own the media companies and building materials.
