The eagerly awaited episode 9 of the Challenge with Mark Pitchers is finally here. Mark visits Farlows to attempt to succeed in his latest mission set via the Fox Facebook page.

Tight Lines.
Should have nailed the Dart Board to the tree by the Bullseye and gave it a 'spin' just before Mark started to throw his darts, would have made redundant his practise routine and made the outcome of the challenge more random, which I suspect was the thinking behind the original Idea... I imagine the guy who submitted the challenge was feeling a little cheated when Mark started aiming for 2's lol.... You were too easy on him this time Harry! :)

Did you watch the video? He's practiced like mad, he was aiming that way, hence why he also hit a 15 which was close by, if had hit any numbers people could claim it's a set up, we will leave people to make their own mind up, he still had to catch 6 carp over 15lb at the end of November which we think is a great effort

Quality DVD, I really like the fact that you don't try and plug Fox and their products at every single opportunity unlike some other companies out there producing videos for RUclips.
It would be really nice to see a fishing in Winter on a budget challenge though, 2 gallons of maggots would be between £40-50 judging by the shops I get them from which is going to be a bit too much money for a lot of the people who've watched this

Just me, but i think it would work better with more maggots, obviously gallons dont work , go for Ton's that will work !

And as all the top anglers say 1st light is best
On all syndicate waters swims-will be taken
Love to seethe very best anglers turning up on say syndicate with maybe 10 and only couple of swim free for 48hrs

In the rules of farlows lake no fixed leads should be used but in this video Mark is using a fixed lead setup, I thought under the production of this episode someone would of noted that by advising of running lead set ups. Not a moan just observation.. Good fish captures still
A lead clip is not counted as a fixed lead as the lead can be ejected and therefore is safe for a carp in the event of a line breakage, by fixed they mean a lead that isn't free running or electable, kind regards

What was the bait set up? Hair rigged pop up imitation corn with a maggot clip below that? I'm fishing a very difficult lake with few carp. This might be worth a go. You're wrong about Perch being last year btw. Everyone is dropshotting.

+Daan Kouwen maggots really are a bait that can completely change your fourunes especially at this time of year. they are so digestible that the carp find them far easier to eat than boilies. There are in fact quite a few bream in Farlows 2, but if you find the carp they feed on the maggots so well that bream are usually not a problem.

why would you not use maggots I always take some in the winter or worms one of the best baits still out there and they don't cost a lot

Do the night lights on those alarms blink constantly or is that just the camera causing the effect?
+TheWesterndevon They are LED's which do in fact flicker constantly, but they flash on and off so fast that the human eye can't process it so it looks like the light is on all the time however, because video is effectively lots of still images strung together some of those images are taken whilst the LED is off, hence it looks like it is flashing in the video.
