Wow, amazing car - I competed and judged IASCA events back in the early 90’s and am just blown away by the level of car audio today
Dave at DAS in Fayetteville N.C. Did a PPI amp car in 1990 with liquid cooling. He engineered the whole thing himself. I miss that guy, he was always innovating.
It doesn't matter what you did Doug!
Now is not the time for this.
I love listening to true professionals that care about their work and are clearly passionate about what they do, in any profession really. It’s so satisfying to see every detail be absolute perfection and such quality.
I went all over the US in the early to late 90's and saw some really crazy Sound Quality cars. This is def. a fine example but they were doing this way back in the day too. I think its become a lost art. Its good to see someone bringing it back!!!
Earl Zausmer's BMW 540 with the first install is still the GOAT of SQ. The cars in the 90's were the innovators of what SQ vehicles should sound like. I was privileged to hear all the great ones.
... and just like that ... The Last Rainforest by Smilk is playing in my truck !!!
Came here from the ELR owners group. Nice car!
Awesome song selection Brian!
Michael Myers great recommendation from you on this song my friend!!
Brian is THE MAN !!!!
@Michael Myers
Oh don't be so modest. ;-) I hear that your system ain't too shabby either, Mike! :-P Would love to have Dean or Nick Apicella do a video tour of your install as well. ;-)
@@bbfoto7248 Nick did a video on mine at finals. Tomorrow will be the last contest for my blue car. Monday I am trading it for a new vehicle.
@@michaelmyers9857
DOH! Awesome, thanks Mike! I'll check out Nick's video. 👍 Good luck at the event this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing the direction you go with the install in the new ride. :) Will you be posting a Build Log on DIYMA or CAJ? Congrats on the new car!
@@michaelmyers9857
Looking forward to the install in the new White Subie. Will follow along on DIYMA or CAJ Forums. 👍
Hey Five Star ! Thanks for using my music in this video and including me in the credits, much appreciated :)
I'm really happy you've used my song to test such epic sound systems!
Keep up the great work!
smilk music great music!!!!
@smilk music
A LOT of us car audio Sound Quality guys are using *The Last Rainforest* and *Acoustic Crumpet* as one of our main DEMO & TEST tracks (and of course for pure enjoyment). 👍
I try to send as many people as possible to your Bandcamp page...

Keep up the great music and let us know of any new releases.
Cheers!

Thank You for the kind words!!
Cant wait to see what you do with the Tesla truck you ordered
Amazing install!!! Thank you for taking so much pride in your system💪✅
Amazing build!!😍👌 Love the water cooled amps. Reminds me of the old PPI Art amps. There were a few guys that set them up that way too, back in the day.
Fluid cooled amplifiers with radiator cooling fans fish pump to circulate the coolant that's definitely cool ingenuity awesome build Brian .
Thank you Dean for sharing cheers.
Wow!.. Dean thanks for sharing... 👍
They put that system into a super rare car that's for sure.
Im from Modesto and love car audio im surprised ive never been to his shop
nice job on the psc display mount in the rearview mirror glass
Ty for the video Dean,& for sharing the track; that track helped me correct my front stage
Holy moly, this is on some crazy other level...
Now you’re hanging out with my friends ... I have known Brian for almost 20 years . He’s a cool dude . If you stay in contact with him call him the legend ... great one !
Please tell me that , this video was the last that’s recorded this way,, it hurts to watch cus the trimming frames out, giving it a big jerky feeling when watching,, let alone the audio from someone who dose audio for a living,,, I love the purpose of the video, my brothers both know this guy personally,,,, and the fact your doing a video of a guy from a small town in the car audio world.. founder of zapco,, i mean you kill it,,, thanks… Tim keys
I'm floored how far the industry has come. That is such sexiness. If that car asked me out on a date, I'd have to tell my wife see ya later😂😂
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Perfection, beyond perfection.
Awsome interview
Those 4200's are sick
I love 5 Star videos, I've learned so much from you guys. I'm also a fan of GM car and trucks, I can't wait for the next video.
Do Brian Mitchell have videos of the Cadillac ELR build.
I know this is a year later. But I just checked this song out in my yukon holy hell. I run only dd audio cc6.5a set off a diamond audio d600.4 and subs are fi ssd 12s ran off a dd audio dm 2500 with a broken rf 3sixty.3 powdered by JVC KW-V340BT. Nothing to write home about for sure.
That led wire is crazzzy
That Cadillac is SICK , he has Went to Outer Space and Back with the Design and thought Process of the Build !!!! Simply Amazing
Bazooka had liquid cooled amps. This is just next level. Phenomenal system for all details. Example: Todd Zier"s sq Ranger was next level when they built it years ago with little details as well. It's amazing to still see this type of perfection. Even though we know car audio guys are never satisfied. So many awesome builds over the years. This will go down as a top build for sure.
😊
Nice! need to make it down to his shop to get a demo of this!
Smilk. Love that track. Australian artist. Awesome track. I wonder if Fred L from Arc discovered when he was here last ;)
Ooohhh snap, time to pimp my sound w/ ARC AUDIO👈😎👉. ✌out from this 209'er
Wow just wow amazing!!!!!!!
iNsAnE! Detail in every touch 🏆
Very nice sir 👌🏼
Ok, Dean I just made an appointment with Paul for tomorrow, to bring the Taco in, and get the QR codes, the travel direction LED lights, and the glycol cooling system installed. I should be there about noon....lol. That thing is insane!!!
so if I buy ARC amps, will they overheat without that elaborate cooling system?
I’m speechless . 👍
Dam A Pimp ride in 2020 love the channel
Beautiful setup 👍
Just reminds me of the days of old SQ!!!!!!!!!! And makes me wanna new sound Q build
AWESOME BUILD!!!
Anti freeze. Someone at Bazooka is shaking their head
Don't forget the first( that I know of), was PPI's Art series, the A600. That was before bazooka...
Why would you dislike a video like this ?
Bass head: no subs in the back
Lol 😂 I know right
This is an Expert Level SQ competition system. A properly fitted 10" sub is all that is needed to balance the freq range. It would be difficult to tame a pair of 12's enough where he wouldn't be penalized in the SQ lane.
Other than the leds and qr, i do the same stuff even in my spl builds
@Five Star Car Stereo
Thanks Dean for taking the time to share Brian's awesome system with us...and thanks to Brian for taking his time to present his install in great detail. 👍
Since you now have Brian's Build Log Book, I have a few questions, as I'm interested in potentially using the new Arc RS drivers. ;)
Are the 4'' RS4 midrange drivers in the A-pillars running "open back/free air"? Or if they are in a small sealed enclosure, what volume of airspace are they in? Any polyfill or similar damping material in the midrange enclosures?
It's also kind of hard to tell where the A-pillar midrange & tweeters are aimed? Are the Left & Right sides aimed symmetrically to the center of the car, or aimed at slightly different angles on the left & right sides, skewed towards the driver seat listening position?
I'd also be interested to know how and to what extent the door and door panels were treated with sound deadening, and the type of materials used for that and for the 6.5" RS6 midwoofer mounting baffles/rings?
Did he do any sound deadening treatment to the roof/headliner?
Thanks again. 👍
bb foto the 4” is open to the inside of the dash. The speakers are aimed (generally) left side toward the passenger left ear and right side toward the drivers right ear.
bb foto doors and roof were treated generously with dynamat and dynafoam products. The door rings/baffles are made out of abs stack fabbed with custom logos laser etched into the material
@@brianmitchell3992
Thanks Brian, appreciate your time in getting back and the added information. 👍
Should have also asked how low & high you have your RS4's playing...approximate HP & LP & the XO slope? Just curious as to their usable bandpass?
I'm still running some of the OG Robert Zeff/Nikola Engineering-designed Arc Audio amps in one of my old school installs...upgraded/re-capped/slightly mod'd Arc 4150CXLr (2) and a 2500CXL.
They continue to impress me. I can count on one hand how many other amps have ever come close to equaling them in terms of pure SQ (and usually at much greater cost), and I've owned and used 100's of "high end" amps over the years.
Love your install and your attention to detail. Thanks for sharing, mate!
@@brianmitchell3992
Also wanted to ask: How far out in front of the windshield & vehicle does the Soundstage Depth extend with tracks with this type of depth information? For instance, where does the solo Trumpet in Sara K's "I Want To Sing Your Blues" image in the Soundstage?
That's not a car Dean. That is a concert hall/ Tecno club on wheels. Amazing.
yep PSY Trance always makes systems sound great. hotel California live edition also an old fav for sound system testers
Back in the 90's that Hotel California Live used to be my demo for surround systems. Google Music only has part of the album and not this song.
Unreal liquid cooling 😂Wow!!👍👍👍🎶
Wow 😳 that is cool sh’’ now that’s a sexy car
Freaking awesome!!
I remember years ago we installed 8" and 10" subs in Pontiac Fieros in the passenger foot well. Sometimes we used that trunk space behind the engine and vented them all the way to the cab. A few we installed in the rear window. But mainly we fiber glassed them in the foot well.
chuck miller
Had a Fiero back when I was an installer in the early 90s. Put 4 Rockford Series 1 10s in it. 2 behind each seat in a 4 sided enclosure using the rear “firewall” and floor as the other 2 sides of each enclosure. Used Great Stuff expanding foam to anchor the enclosures to the car. Had 2 6.5s in each custom door pod, 2 3.5s and the tweeter from the 6.5 components in the dash locations. All running off a Zapco active crossover, Punch 150 on subs and Punch 45 on all the mids n highs, both mounted on motorized amp rack that spun 180 degrees to show both sides, mounted in that rear trunk behind the engine. That system blew everyone away for it’s volume and sound quality, that heard it. Couldn’t see the subs until I pulled the seats forward, as the enclosure top looked like nothing more then a 3 inch deep rear deck, lol. Lost about 4 inches total of leg room from the enclosures, which was fine for me, as I’m a lil guy at 5’8”. Loved that lil car.
@@lewthern I remember installing a punch 150 in that flip down console between the seats. Installed two 3.5" speakers in the head rests, had to series wire them because they were too loud by your ear. I wish we had the woofers back then like we have now, hardly any airspace required. We installed in those Fieros at least once a week. They were everywhere. I remember the dash speakers were a 4x10, Fosgate had a plate with a 3.5 and a tweet that fit in that spot. Sometimes we would put two 8 inch original Kickers in a sealed box behind the passenger seat. Did tons of amp racks in the trunk too. We did bandpass boxes in the trunk, used that stretchy dryer vent to get the vent lengths right, then fiberglassed them solid. i did so much fiberglass work that it does not make me itch anymore.
How long did it take to do this car install ?
I'm at a loss for words 🤪
Ok, Brian Mitchell. I need 2 ks600.2, 1 ks300.2 and an 4000SE monoblock. Thanks
When i bring my truck to y'all I will pass on the LED lights, however I will be expecting a book explaining everythimg down to the screw size and how many turns it took to seat them....
Okay I have to say there are people in my area, Explicit Auto and High Class Motor Sports if you're willing to put out the funds they will do the job you're comparing us and a guy who owns a car stereo company. Which bothers me to think we buy Arc Audio and other products for ridiculous amounts of money when they're manufactured in China and we are still supporting these guys with awesome cars
CH Steele Hi, there are some incredible shops all over the world that easily could do what I have done. We should support those shops!! I support all my brothers/sisters who do great work. As for me owning Arc Audio that isn’t me, I work for Arc Audio as inside sales person and product trainer. I build all the cars at my own expense during my own time at my own store. I do get to do some R&D on cool new products which are engineered in the United States (by the guys who have been engineering from the beginning) and built all over the world. Amplifiers for most companies are built in China because it’s where most electronics manufacturing happens. If it was made in the US we would have to charge much more than what we do now. We hope to change that dynamic but for now that is how it works. Add me on face book or send me a message and i am always happy to talk about car audio.
the manual blew me away
Very interested in the "module" discussed in the signal path allowing the use of the factory head unit. Is this avail to the public?

sweet liquid cooled amps, nice! I thought about doing that but i started out with just a PC fan pointed at an amp that I had that was overheating and it worked for a while and then the fan burned up and i'm assuming that was because it was a 12v fan and when your motor is on you're pushing 14.4 to it?!
so my question is is he using a PC power supply to run the liquid cooling setup to keep the voltage at a constant 12v or what? and has anyone had any luck with even air cooling an amp array? thanks.
I'd like to read that book
Insane install!!
Did Brian have a favorite demo song to play that really shows off that system?
C Johnson It’s at the end of the video.
@@IDontHaveAVideo Doh! I thought that was your test song. 🤦🤷♀️🤪👍👍
Seem to remember Bazooka had water cooled amps back in the day.
We're can I get that book ?
We're not worthy!! We're not worthy!!
I am looking to take my sound system in two of my cars and boat to the next level. I have fairly high standards, and after looking on and off for over a year, I am still looking for a company that can make it happen. Anybody here have any top recommendations?
Where is the link to the song?
Qr codes on the cables ?
Wow !
What’s the name of his shop?!
No offense brother but I'm having real trouble wanting to buy any product since the introduction of the Carona Virus and it coming out of China. I might be being ridiculous but I am scared now to purchase anything else that is coming from China sorry I will give the actual technicians props for a awesome install
I want to go work for this guy
link to the song?
I exploded the capacitor crossovers on my arc audio 6x9s.
Speakers didn't blow. The caps turns inside out. Lol.
Hes a relative of mines I think! lol :)
What'd think Matt Schaffer saying about this one.
👏👏👏
I’m curious who gave this a thumbs down. Guess someone really wanted that book. 😀. Freakin awesome video, as always.
Probably because of the irritating Max Headroom
video production.

Hmm just like a water cooled pc. Cool
Car audio is just another form of custom computers with the RGB, plexi glass and all. Nvidia should start making amplifiers.
Does Brian have 8 ex wives?..... how could this get a thumbs down
Who remembers when Master P partner with bazooka and made the liquid cooling Amps
I don't, but that's a cool piece of knowledge.
The bazooka came factory with it
@@nicholasstephey8475
And PPI had it before Bazooka.
All a/b amplifiers to power the system...
And I believe that the bias is adjusted on each amp so that they run in Class A mode for most of the output power range that's required for them to reach pretty high SPL levels , hence the water (glycol) cooling. :-)
who cares what colour you paint things , in a true audiophiles world a red led is considered to be excessive .
Sooooo that’s what a $30k audio system looks like
30k😂😂😂😂😂
Jesus... how about you let the system play longer.....
Magnets bitches!
Nice car but the jittery chopped to hell video... That's unbelievably irritating to watch.
Eww. Arc audio. Butheads do not design amps in house. Robert Zeff does. They suck.
