Yours probably bled a lot because it pierced right over a vein. It’s always a good idea to check where the veins in your ears are when deciding the piercing placement!!!
This video really helps me from overthinking, it's my second day from getting a helic piercing, my ear is read and yeah painful. but thanks to this video. my overthinking stops now
I love piercings! I also love tattoos, but piercings are easier and more affordable! You are making me long for another piercing. I have a helix, and I have a very snug loop. I am trying with getting a nostril piercing, although I rarely bother to show my septum jewellery...
Yesss! So much more affordable! I love tattoos and have yet to get one myself. I am afraid I'd regret it and I can't just remove it in a second. There are so many amazing artists out there though - it's tempting! I love the look of those! I am hoping to get one in my conch piercing soon. Nostril piercings are so cute! It'd be perfect with your septum, I am sure!! :D
I love your helix piercing! Lately I have been really like studs in that spot. I got my helix done a year ago and it feels like there was never any progress with the healing, it would always catch on things. So I swapped the hoop to a healed lobe and my anometal stud to my helix and now it is so much less painful! Do any other piercings interest you? I was thinking about a daith and a faux rook
I am so glad that you ended up switching it to a stud! :) I've heard that a lot of people find healing with them easier as opposed to having a hoop. I totally get that. I am way too clumsy to heal piercings with hoops I think :D I love the look of daith piercings on others!! Which one would you like to get first? I was actually thinking of getting a faux rook! Unfortunately, my piercer here in China doesn't speak English. I wear glasses and would need to communicate a lot with her to ensure that the placement would be fine and to ensure that I could even get one with my glasses. I am getting a plain rook instead. There's less room for miscommunication with that :)
I tried to get my lobes double-pierced 3 different times :( (I do have the traditional lobe piercings from high school.) For some reason, the second piercings never healed...so I gave up. Do you have to turn the stud daily on the helix piercing?
Did you get them pierced with a needle and implant grade titanium jewelry? No, fresh piercings should never be turned, touched, moved or twisted in any way. If you've trouble with healing piercings it could be the jewelry. I am not an expert though - it'd be worth checking in with a reputable piercer! :)
The Minimalist Ninja thanks so much for replying to my comment and question:-) yes they were done with a needle and titanium jewelry. I have a very small lobe area and I think it was probably getting into the cartilage a bit. I've moved on to a couple of tattoos which worked out nicely :-) I was always told to turn the hoop everyday and maybe that was part of the problem. I so enjoy your style and videos!
Sure thing! :) Awesome to hear that you got into tattoos! :) Yes, absolutely. Rotating fresh piercings can delay the healing process and one may also increase the risk of it getting infected (due to touching it all the time). Here's a quick video explaining the main issue with it all: ruclips.net/video/8qYylcNOJxc/видео.html Should you give it another go I'd suggest getting studs as starter jewelry - some people have fewer issues with those. They are not prone to move as much as hoops do and can make the healing process easier! :) I am so glad you do! :) Thank you so much :)
I got mine today, I was bleeding heavy too!! I was going to get a hoop but it got very swollen sense it was my first piercing, she had to try out 3 earrings and open it 3 times. It hurt but after a few hours, the pain went away when I took some medicine to ease it. Definitely going to get more piercings! Though it was extremely painful
She had to open it 3 times?? That’s not normal lol. If it was swollen, a straight barbell or labret would be recommended to accommodate for the swelling. Good thing you didn’t get a hoop though, because hoops aren’t really good for the healing process since it can easily get caught and it moves so much, resulting in longer healing time. Hopefully it is going smoothly for you!
I am sorry to hear about your experience! I would recommend looking around for a different piercer perhaps! Hoops are usually not recommended, at least my piercer (who's one of the best here in Berlin), doesn't recommend them. Just baby it and it will be ok, I am sure. Happy healing!!
it’s been 3 days and it is throbbing and hurts so much but I’ve been cleaning it properly and not sleeping on it at all :( I did have the back fall off and go missing so I used a spare on I had and I’m just :( help
Fresh piercings should never be touched, moved or rotated. Just let water run over them. Any sort of movement will prolong healing and can lead to irritation! :S
Oh, I totally didn't make an update about this! It's been doing great! I thought it'd be a pain to heal and it isn't at all. Given how good it's doing it should definitely heal within a year! :)
Now that it's fully healed sleeping on it is not an issue. It just takes time getting there. Cartilage piercings can take 1 year and longer to heal. This particular piercing of mine took close to 2 years to fully heal - prior to being fully healed I could not sleep on it without irritating it.
Do you have to put saline solution on it 3 times a day? And for how long do you do this before you don’t have to anymore? I’m thinking of getting mine done soon. :)
I tend to do this for the first few months, depends on the piercing though. I have piercings for which I didn't do this and others for which I did. It's best to consult your piercer. It depends on how you heal! :)
I really want a helix but I'm always so afraid of pain. I got my earlobes shot twice when I was younger which (of course) hurt a LOT (why do they shoot it at the jewelry store?), I pierced my third earlobe piercing myself and I got a nose piercing, which didn't hurt at all. But I'm still SO afraid of getting a helix! I need some encouragement
If you go to a professional piercer and get an implant grade titanium (internally threaded or threadless stud) than the pain will be minimal. Just make sure that you go to the right place and you'll be in good hands. If done right it's really just a quick pinch and that's it. It's the healing that's tricky!! :)
Yours probably bled a lot because it pierced right over a vein. It’s always a good idea to check where the veins in your ears are when deciding the piercing placement!!!
I’m planning to have helix piercing later but still I’m so scared. 🤦🏻♀️
It really isn't bad at all. Just make sure that you go to a reputable place!! :)
I am getting 2x helix piercings this week.. ;-; The anxiety just came ;w; xd
@@idk0709 how was it? I'm getting mine tomorrow and am acc shitting it
@johnbrown9654ou really is worth it?
Is claires okay pls reply@@theminimalistninja
It’s Styptic powder. Not Chinese only. It’s used for men shaving and dog nail trimming to stop
Bleeding

does it feel better now? because i got mine done about 3 days ago and it hurts abit if i touch it and im scared
So cute! I've LOVED watching your piercing journey. You're inspiring me to go out and finally get a 4th helix and an orbital.
Thank you so much :D I'll continue to post videos whenever I get new ones :D Yesssss!!! Get it!! :D :D

Good luck!!! :))))
The sound you heard may have been the needle going into a cork if she used a cork to cover the needle

getting my first cartilage piercing on thursday, wish me luck!
How did it go?😊
@@tzuyuwu786 awesome! it's healing well so far :))
Im stupid and got a hoop instead of a stud for my first helix 😒
I just got my rook and traigus pierced a couple days ago and my rook hurt and bled like crazy.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am planning to get a helix piercing in a few weeks. Did you get a helix piercing on the other ear?
Just got mine done, how do you dry it? Xx

I got mine today in a mall bathroom and it didn’t even bleed at all
hi , I just got my helix piercing done 5hrs ago should I clean it with smithing or leave it ?
I got a double helix piercing but it’s swollen very bad and hurtsss do u know anything to get it down 😩
I'm getting mine in like 4 hours and I'm so scared ;u;
Did you move your piercing around or just wet it to clean it ?
Fresh piercings should never be touched, moved or rotated. Just let water run over them. Any sort of movement will prolong healing and can lead to irritation! :S
Can I use Himalayan salt instead of sea salt for soaks?
I've never used salt for soaks and can't comment on that one, unfortunately! :)
How has your piercing been healing now?

I am curious, when comparing conch vs helix which was less painful?
Getting my helix piercing was less painful. My cartilage in that area is a lot thinner and it was, therefore, not as painful! :)
I'm so in it this morning
did yours swell ?? i got mine 5 days ago and i’ve been cleaning it but it’s kind of swollen
Yes! Mine was swollen for several days and a month or so into healing the swelling was pretty much gone! :)
@@theminimalistninja thank you !! my swelling just recently went down :)
I read that getting new piercings damp is not good so is it okay I just clean it while bathing? Is there no need for the some specific solutions?
I would not clean it while bathing. I'd stick to saline solution and keep it dry! :)
Do you have to put saline solution on it 3 times a day? And for how long do you do this before you don’t have to anymore? I’m thinking of getting mine done soon. :)

which saline solution did you use
I recommend NeilMed's saline solution! :)
