So cool. It would be great if this is part of a continual story. That each major update adds more to the lore. Maybe doing something special or an experiment on one of these monuments could unlock a new part or something like that. Would make a great reason to explore and land on specific landing sites.
Yes, I'm hoping something like this will happen in Story Mode. When I talked with Nate at the Preview Event about the easter eggs and story/lore he didn't want to share much information. Keeping all this a secret. He just told me there will be missions and events to progress the story.
You notice how the statue's eyes are pointing upward? And it's close to the north pole on Minmus? Makes me wonder if its going to be pointing at anything above the plane of the Kerbol System in future updates?
if you look at it from the top the kerbal represents Kerbin and those 2 lines with a circle the mun and minmus. perhaps something happens there when the moons are alligned like that
Super exciting seeing all these discoveries in real time, I got into KSP1 fairly late so I read about all sorts of stuff people had found years ago but now I get to watch it unfold. Looking forward to more crazy easter eggs!
Yea the unplayable bugs incomplete features and unrealistic spec requirements/sub-par optimisations are worth criticising and I’m not saying they’re negligible but I think these Easter eggs the developers added could use more attention and appreciation
@@83kanabeach personally I appreciate world building in any form, be it an ancient statue or a backstory in dialogue, I think a fairly sandbox-style game like KSP very much benefits from something like that to discover along your travels, a fun story to uncover about those who came before
I'm starting to think that the Kerbals were once an advanced rase but some major cataclysm reverted them to stone age or something. I wonder that, if that is true, than maybe that large asteroid crater on Kerbin may have something to do with that, and Kerbals only now are discovering all of the monuments. Maybe this explains their enormous thirst for space exploration.
With the way how the statue in the middle looks, it could be a ancient race of simplified of eldrich kerbals, and the arches maybe a teleporter gate of some kind, while this statue setup could be a marker to track the star systems they want to track, and with how old these monuments are and the fact they seem like they are still powered, they could still be here some where in the system hidden. I know that most people will already think this but I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring cause I missed the last time a bunch of hidden lore got put into some media of some kind
I think the mun structure has 2 purposes. A Gate, and a Map. Most likely every planet will or already has a ruin, and we have to find them all for some unknown purpose.
It looks like it was maybe used for a ceremony, possibly religious. The large figure in the center is or was most likely important so it might be a shrine or monument to a leader or deity. that's what it looks like to me at least.
That statue kinda looks like a kerbal. Implying that the kerbals have been there before( in the ancient past ) and those ancient kerbals have been venturing to the kerbol system from somewhere else and something has made them flee to kerbin.(and they've forgotten their identity, resulting in the kerbals we have today). But that's just a theory....a GAME Theory
In KSP 1 there’s a couple pyramids and a statue of a kerbal on kerbin near the dessert launch site, and my friend says there’s pyramids on duna as well, you should probably go to those as well, maybe they’ve changed in KSP2 to be like this kraken kerbal
Dennis I think that the kerbal is a star and the Balls are planets Also the kerbal means kerbin and the circles are the mün and minmus My theory is that this means that the Stargate on the mün Connects to this Star system Maybe im dumb and wrong but thats my theory When I think about it now it is the Marker from Dead Space
it looks like the kraken But in kerbal form. (May not make sense but im just guessing) THEORY TIME!!! what if the kraken is just the soul of the overlord who used to rule the kerbol system. But his kind died out due to life evolving on kerbin. They got sick from the microbes when they visited kerbin. Ending their civilisation . and the overlords soul wanted vengeance. So he attacks any kerbal ships that try to colonise other celestial bodies and wont stop until his revenge has been completed by stopping the kerbals from leaving the kerbol system.
I'm so excited to play and discover these things but the number of game breaking bugs I keep encountering has me waiting on some updates. I think I'll be coming back in a few months to KSP 2, try not to spoil too much for me!!! lol
That statue is clearly either of a Kerbal, or a related species, possibly a distant ancestor. This means that Kerbal civilization likely originated on another planet, probably in a completely different solar system. And if that is the case, that begs the question... _Where is the true Kerbal homeworld?_
i'm fairly sure the face of duna has been turned into one as well, idk where it is in ksp2 but I had it spawn in my ship and it seemed to be some kind of statue
maybe they are continuing the lore about a secret planet that they didt have time to finish in ksp 1 using the image on duna when you translated it it would show a secret planet or smth and a orbit or the tracking station would detect it sometimes not all the time i wish its in ksp2 like an big easteregg

6:15 I not want to get your hopes up but i guess this is it, or will be it for a long long time, there are a few other things they need to attent first.
My personal theory with all the alien stuff found on ksp could be suggesting two things: Either they will add other civilizations, wich are inteded to be eventually found by the player for interaction, such as trading goods and science. The other possibility is only being able to found even more ruins in the future, just for you to seek science and do bases around, like the hanging mun arch bases but with different a brand new ancient structures, wich are quit good to look at.
For me, this brings to mind the scrapped easter-egg plotline from KSP 1 where there would've been an extra planet that you'd need to find through SSTV signals located in the easter-eggs. Except without the SSTV for now
As far as I know there is not something like the radar from KSP 1 that told you where the "secrets" were, right? So people are just founding these just by luck or is it something similar to what happened in GTA V (Assets have coordinates to spawn so you just go to those specific coordinates)?
There are many things I notice about this and would like to measure myself when ksp 2 has lower minimum specs. The statue is in a very exact crystal hexagon thing. I don't remember if jool has 5 or 6 moons. The 2 body map and rays on the ground. Possibly pointing at eve. The eyes are pointing more or less solar north or I would figure they align with something. The outer crystals are pretty close to death star shaped. Also there is the whole proto-kerbal look of the statue. So this story probobly fits with the old ksp 1 story. It seems like a good idea to check north pole locations on jool's seccond moon (I can't remember the name of it) and Eve for similar monuments.
Maybe the devs wanted this spot in particular to be the place of some sort of colony. Im interested to see how resourses are around it once resourses are added to the game. Maybe the devs want this to be some sort of main Minmus base. The area around it is wuite flat and prime real estate for a massive colony
