I was thinking about building one of these go karts with 2 - 2800w 11" scooter hub motors. Basically all the parts from a 60v laotie scooter. So it would have eco/turbo mode an dual/single motor mode. Would probably do 45mph.. this video shows that it definitely needs to be built wider for those speeds. Thanks!
That would be a wild build. Yes, wider and longer and with that speed you’ll want some real brakes. Try to start with a Berg (www.bergtoys.com/us/faqs/pedal-gokarts/frame-pedal-gokarts) frame or pedal car.
@@ChanceSummer Yeah those look very beefy compared to the other ones. Hmmm. Thanks for the tip!
nice built, do you still remember the size of the original rear sprocket?
I wonder if that controller supports regenerative or electric braking. having motor resistance via brake pedal would be awesome alongside that ebrake.
Nope, a $22 controller won’t get you fancy capabilities. You do get free feet warmers though if you stop by using the soles of your shoes 😁
Nice
Wow! Amazing! Quick question how many teeth does the motor sprocket have 11T, 12T or 13T? Thanks
11 teeth. Sorry for the delay. This is pretty much the Kit: www.ebay.ca/itm/36V-800W-Electric-Bike-Brush-Motor-Controller-Foot-Pedal-Conversion-DC-800W-Kit-/133913978069?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
We ran two of these motors in our go kart for a while. It was a very different build but added fans to help ensure they would not over heat. I am curious, has yours ever gotten hot after running for a long time or riding off road?
I found when I tried to run a bigger gear (cog) on either the motor itself or the axle it would overhead. With the small sprockets (as seen in the video) you get more torque, quicker acceleration but low top end speed (30 km/h), but mine is not overheating at all anymore. I do have an electric dirt bike however, and that hopeless thing burns out the controller all the time because of heat.
SUPERBE !!
Great work!
Well done !!!
It would be much appreciated if could provide some links for the motor and battery so me/we can have an idea what you used .
Thank you in advance!!!!
Great project again !!!
Hi again!
Is this the motor?

😁 still need to find the battery and the speed controller..
If anyone has any details..links..would be great!!
@@albertosolicari3716 that is the correct motor
@@albertosolicari3716 Sorry for the delay. Any 36v 800w motor would do like the one you found. If I had to make mine again I would find one with a mounting bracket welded on the bottom already. Mine had none and was a pain to mount. The battery I used was a 36v 13ah (Samsung cells). Any cartridge style would work - it just depends on how you want it to look and finding a good price. I’ll look up my controller and sprocket and report back.

Hello there, where can I buy the sprocket from and how many tooth is it? Thanks.
54T sprocket on axle and 11T cog on motor with T8F chain = www.ebay.ca/itm/T8F-Chain-Front-Rear-Sprocket-For-47cc-49cc-Pocket-Bike-ATV-Quad-Scooter-Gokart-/303922233373?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
I would also like to make one but I was wondering were to find the parts
EBay is your friend. www.ebay.ca/itm/36V-800W-Electric-Bike-Brush-Motor-Controller-Foot-Pedal-Conversion-DC-800W-Kit-/133913978069?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
How was this wired? I’m trying exact the same set up with a lithium ion battery, but am not getting any response from the pedal throttle. The wattage and voltage match the battery, motor, and control thanks in advance!
Hi! I used a 36V, 1000w, 30amp controller from eBay. No reverse and I charge directly to the battery not via the controller. These controllers are all from China so you have to get lucky and find one with an English map or labels on the wires. Cheap though at $30-$40.
Probably have the pedal connected to wrong plug on controller would be my guess.
The control must be the issue as I got a YK31C 36V 800W Brush controller to go with a Brushed 36V 800W Motor. Thank you for the quick response!
@@Aries-nb2eh I’ll check the controller number when I get home and let you know.
Does you chain ever slip?
The chain does not slip but it used to fall off all the time before I put a chain tensioner on it. I added a bolt that pushes on the rear axle mount to keep it under pressure.
