Very helpful information….I’m a new RUclipsr and trying to receive all inspiration that I can receive…you are unselfish and God is going to bring blessings on blessings to you and your channel. Thanks! Just Subscribed 🙏
I think mentioning something you offer or a product in the middle of the video is such a good idea - I never mention where people can actually find my art in the world and by the end of the video - it seems sales-y and off topic - also most people have signed off anyway. I have to figure out a way I can organically mention where people can actually buy my work in the middle!
You could also just have an animated pop up screen with some jingle music or bell to get there attention and say "buy my art here if interested or link in description" Or I sell my art - if intersted link in description. Or some fun way of saying it.
Super awesome info! Thanks for sharing your top-notch knowledge about effective and efficient communication techniques for RUclips video content and structure!
I love this philosophy because I am giving it all away because it's life advice everyone should have access to, and my personal experiences as to why I am sharing.
I stumbled across one of your vids yesterday about just getting started wherever you are and it was the push I needed. Thank you. I’m subscribing today because I need more of this genuine content in my feed.
Excellent! Best video of yours I've seen so far! You nailed it. This is what I would want to know if I was just starting out. And, guess what, I still what to know these tips. Keep reminding me., Hey, I learned something today you may want to do a video on,. I've known for some time you can edit an old video you've posted into a short (or maybe even someone else's). So, I tried it out today! There was a vary interesting discovery. That was when you post your new short there is a link to the original video! As you know I've been posting shorts to get more subs. I noticed while doing this for a few weeks my old videos were gaining public watch time towards the 4,000 hours required. That was a bit of a surprise. Now, if I post shorts from my old videos and someone clicks the original long form video I'll gain public watch time on those old videos, too. Note: you don't get public watch time from shorts but, with this link you could. Ok, my dog Charlie is pawing at my laptop so, I've got go.
Ah Charlie is a dog! Now I know. Yes I repurpose my older successful videos into shorts right now and it seems to be helping with picking up traction again! Great idea!
@@AlexaSaarenoja Ha, yes! Charlie is a 3 year old Goldendoodle. My son thought he could help get me over my mental issues. So, he got me a puppy. It helps keep my sanity some days and on others he add to my insanity. Oh, don't worry, I'm ok. Just have some depression now and then from PTSD. RUclips has really helped deal with that. And, yes, Charlie is MY dog and he knows it.
Love it! And I'm particularly happy to hear about how it's good to exit the video somewhat quickly, as sometimes I see my video is ending as I'm doing my voiceover, and I'm like, "See ya next time, Kbye!" Because I don't want to spend any more time editing and adding footage at the end just so it will be the same length as my babbling. 😂
Awesome stuff here, thank you! New subscriber (hi from BC Canada!) 61, re-starting YT (for fun and building community for older folks) so i am re-aquainting (is that a word?) myself with this, uh, world, and something struck me while you were talking about the different types of people. I'd like to add there's people that just don't resonate with other personalities, so if one has issues (high-pitched voices, fast talkers, high/low energy etc.) that would cause them to click off (or on) too, so don't take it personal. Now, on to your other videos... Have a great week!
Thank you in advance for the recommendations, honestly that point that you said about maintain the main "keyword" until the end, I always notice it in advance RUclips Channel, and nowadays some beginners Channel too. Regards ✨ Alexa
I love your advice, my intro/hook might be too long. I also need to talk faster; I am a very hyper person so I have deliberately slowed my speech down so people can hear me. I can talk incredibly fast, too fast sometimes. I am going to take your advice and get right to the point swiftly. My channel is only 2 weeks young. I am so grateful for your very helpful tips!!
UHG! LOL I just batch recorded my first 4 videos for my channel a couple days ago, I definitely didn't use this structure. I kinda wish I had held off 1 more week. But that could be my perfectionist side speaking...😅
Alexa, what do you think about the strategy that you say at the end of your video "if you like this - watch this video because it will help you xyz"? I, of course, have not DONE this, but I'm curious what you think. I do think the first hook is great - but that mid-hook seems great, too. I am NOT GOOD at that - as a public speaker, I'm used to a captive audience. So much to learn! Thanks for sharing your advice.
Yes, I think it's useful to promote your other videos, even if they don't click now they know that you have those other videos in your library of videos.
This is so helpful! Thank you!! Also I’m wondering if you have a link for how to create your ending screen like you did?? The pink and yellow animated one. Also you had one toward the middle somewhere
I just found you a couple of days ago and I'm working up the courage to do this! I'm just curious tho, I am a hobby potter and would like to know do you recommend an introduction video first? Or just jump right into a "how to" or actual pottery video? I am soooo terrified at the moment, but want this badly! Thanks for all you do!

Hi Alexa, thank you so much for all of this content. I really enjoy your videos. I’m a little confused. Maybe I misunderstood. Is it the first 500 or the first 50 that can get into your course for free? Thanks for clarifying😅
Yes! Thank you for this question. I'm in the same boat 😊. Btw, just checked out your channel and I'm also navigating later motherhood. 42 with a 6 and 2 yr old ❤.
I just mentioned to Alexa above that you have to determine where your video starts dragging once you have the first draft edited. Sometimes it's good to step away for an hour or two and watch it again. I've had to drop things I thought were interesting at the time, but really ended up slowing down my video.
Thoughts from a 60+ watcher, I don't mind a rambling video at all if there is a message, now if you ramble about which day of the week something happened on, that's a different story. But I wouldn't worry about a ramble if you are doing a vlog, day in the life kind of thing. These quick paced info videos are great for how to learning. I enjoy both types and love the nuggets of insight in a rambler lol
? Some how I see my subs up then down etc … is it because they are not watching my videos/shorts?? And RUclips is … or could it be accidentally hit sub button to unsubscribe?? Struggling with 4K watch hours 😢 Any advice is helpful
