- Part 3 of Acoustic Guitar Canada's Interview with Master Luthier Robin Boucher in Berthier-sur-Mer Quebec.
In this video, Robin explains the Boucher Guitar philosophy and why his guitars changed drastically, in 2013.
Robin has been surrounded by music and guitar building his whole life.
In an effort to better understand the American acoustic guitar culture, Robin took a break from building to travel to the US to meet musicians, other luthiers and guitar historians.
When he returned, he gather his thoughts and realized he had to return again.
This time to focus on the Martin guitars of the 30s. What happened next revolutionize Boucher guitars… and in 2014 they won the NAMM award for best boutique guitar of the year.
"Better, not faster" is a great philosophy.
Boucher is one of my dream guitar 😊
I am the lucky owner of a Boucher SG-42 purchased last year from G& G Music, I have to say it is one of the best guitars 🎸 I've ever played, sounds amazing, Robin and his crew build great guitars, the craftsmanship is impressive, their guitars are BEAUTIFUL ❤
What a great interview! His enthusiasm and love of his craft is really contagious. I am looking to buy two new Boucher OMs this year. One 6 string and one 12. Cannot wait!
The Quality, overall Sound and Playability is the Best I have ever encountered, Have two ordering a third! Robin and his Team's committment to this philosophy ensures everyone will deliver you that Wow factor!
I hope Robin's giving you the Boucher family discount!
Great interview!! I have my order in and can't wait until it gets delivered at the end of the year! Until then.... I'm watching these interviews and JP Cormier's reviews to get me through. Nice work AGC!
Interesting insights and observations, and from a quality local manufacturer!
Thank you Bill Kerrigan for producing this fantastic series about Robin Boucher. I am privileged to possess a pair of his gorgeous instruments and am keen to spread the word to others about his exquisite works.
A very scientific approach. No short cuts here. Bravo Robin. Thank you Bill !
Great company, great guitars. I cannot wait to get a Bluegrass Goose in Tobacco Burst with Gold Touch. Would love Mad/Brazilian Rosewood but Indian Rosewood is just fine.
What a passionate man… but the way he talks just cracks me up 😅
Hahaha, je viens de voir une annonce de découpage de boeuf au début du vidéo, l'algorythme ne fais pas encore la différence entre les guitares boucher et le métier lol
