True but there's alot of producers you can tell it's them, not always a bad thing. Often artist feel it's a sound. Also most artist's minds are limited sadly and it's hard to shake certain styles and elements
Amazing how simple and clean his beats are and they turn to club hits. Just goes to show how easy it is to make beats effortlessly unlike other producers that make it so complex with a thousand sounds put into it.
It's not as easy as it looks. You have to learn how to understand the programs, how to understand and use the filters, mixing and mastering, and a whole lot of other shit. I like to make music for fun on my laptop and it's a lot harder than it looks believe it or not. Usually takes 2 or 3 hours to make a typical beat.
Hater's gonna hate. It does take talent to put seemingly simple beats into something that comes together in a coherent and melodic manner. Keep doing what you do Mustard.
Ando9233 FL Studio is a great program. It's best for making Dubstep, Electro House, and other EDM genres but it's also great for any type of genre. DJ Mustard himself uses FL Studio. It does cost money, but theres a demo you can get for free and the only thing not included in the demo is being able to save projects to work on for later. You can still export your songs though.
All a1 sounds - A1 Clean shiny radio Synth Sound - Hey Chant fills up hella space and gives movement - Other chant for variert - Clean Clap Sound layered with clean snap sound - Clap does transition - Kick - Heavy full a1 808 - Moog attack bass
Its official. I been saying for years that producers are real life magicians. Dude steps into a studio and in 10 mins flat and produces a multimillion dollar record....insane.
These days all I pay attention to in songs are the Instrumentals.. I like 808 Mafia and Boi-Wonda, Producers don't get much recognition so I don't know the names of many..
No matter which way you put it, Producing is not easy at all and I give props to any producer in the world famous or not. We all have our own unique creativity no matter the genre of beats we make.
Got damn man Mustard be going in on the beats. It would be a dream to flow over 1 of his tracks. I love hip hop so much. Everytime I think i've heard the best beat ever somebody tops that. Hip hop is the new language. Ppl just dont know the power of music.
The fact that 10 years ago they asked mustard what does it look like with you and Kendrick on a beat and now in 2024 they have a huge track that’s still talked about! That’s insane!
A lot of people say that it is easy to make beats. i make them and i can say it isn't easy at all, you need talent. You need talent to sing, you need talent to rap, and also you need talent to make beats. But is true that some people work harder than other, and Dj Mustard have a lot of dope beats.
So basically it's like a 10 pattern track with the main melody copied from another song. and it got 150million views. Well shid, way to make lemonade! #notHatin
A lot of examples of the business for the "Show Me" track was short but sweet. Inspiring to hear & see you break things down for that track - nice, nice.... I will now keep my ears to the streets for your work from here on out.
He sounds like he's got a cheese burger in his mouth when he talks. Cardio and fitness training is the solution to this problem. But Mustard is very talented and he's a great producer 💯
I have to give it to him every beat he makes last 3yrs been bangers he's a great producer got skills plus a lot of artists fucks with Dj Mustard he's all over the radio
Richard Lionheart true. it was just super freaking bassy in this and the end product the 808's i've been using and finding aren't as end heavy as this. then again it's probably cause i use stock sounds so who knows. and true a lowpass doesn't add more bass but it'll remove any high end and mid end frequencies and you can then boost that sound by itself so it'll be louder over everything.... probably a horrible way to do it idk but that's what i've been doing with the stocks cause they aren't heavy enough for me.
BMUSIK I didn't even bother responding to that guy, calling me a hater for just saying what's real. You are right but in this video he's saying "what *I* added" he didn't add anything.
He's successful because he chooses the right sounds. Think about 80s music...they chose new sounds that were loved. That is a skill in of itself, not even getting to the arrangement yet. There are def better producers out there, but it doesn't matter. He is doing his thing. There will aways be somebody else.
Fair play to mustard, he's managed to get his own unique style which many producers find it hard to do with trap. He also has chilled mannerisms like biggie hah.
He has good reason. He has top charting tracks and being 8% in the top 100 is damn impressive. You got 1 hit wonders, but nah DJ Mustard has multiple songs up there. He has confidence in his work and that's something you need. He never said he'll crush every other DJ or producer, but he's talking with the right amount of confidence. Now if he had 1 song hit top 100 and he's talking like that than that's reasonable. He gave a great interview and his idea of music is in the right direction. Shit is heading towards EDM, but he believes Hip Hop is still there if you produce some good shit.

His tunes are quite recognizable. You actually tell when an artist is using mustard beats
It also always says Mustard on the beat in all his songs. haha
haha that's awesome!

Yup
I think its a gift to think in terms of simplicity, which i applaud him for. Making a track that simple and still sound dope is a blessing.
He made the track but stole the melody. Creating the melody is 80% of production.
X-RA3 and he said it was the other guy who played it and then just adds a clap every 4th note.
DJ Mustard, the type of dude who names his bus "Clapz n shit"
only producers will get this 😂😂😂
im that type of dude, i also name shit like "Queef bass", "random shit"
This killed me :DDDD
I've done that lmfao
lmao
man. I realllly appreciate seeing producers breakdown beats sound by sound like this! Keep these videos coming, hardknock!
He didn't really say how he craft the sounds, this just showed which sounds he used & when? I'ma go watch more about Pharrell in the studio(Genius)
I'm talkin bout Hardkock showing off all these producers, not just Mustard. Pharrell ain't even human lol he's too nice with production.
TRILL!!!!

that 808 is beautiful. did he put a low pass on that to get it so bassy or is that just the sample he's using?
+Skamux Sounds like it was eq'd then saturated, but probs just the samples.
+Skamux 808 is bassy by default lol. and lowpass doesnt add more bass
Richard Lionheart true. it was just super freaking bassy in this and the end product the 808's i've been using and finding aren't as end heavy as this. then again it's probably cause i use stock sounds so who knows. and true a lowpass doesn't add more bass but it'll remove any high end and mid end frequencies and you can then boost that sound by itself so it'll be louder over everything.... probably a horrible way to do it idk but that's what i've been doing with the stocks cause they aren't heavy enough for me.
use a saturator to add harmonics to an 808 make it fatter

If you didn't notice the moment you heard this song that it was sampled from Show Me Love...
Mustard tried to downplay the fact that the meat on that beat was jacked from that Robin S song
Mustard doesn't have the ability to get a different sound he won't last long. he'll die off soon

that 808 needs to be mixed properly so that it still hits but doesn't overdrive. you can hear it
It was mixed properly when the song came out, but what do you mean so it doesn’t overdrive ?

How does he always get his 808's sounding badass? I'm always trying 2 find some good 808's but they always sound shitty
just mix that shit properly
***** its not about the mix lol...if you dont have a super badass 808 sample, mixing is useless, also the key for the 808 matters alot.
learn synthesis and make your own then you eq them or add a filter. There plenty of you tube videos out there.
