Thank you “So Chateaux TV” for bringing in the light those like us who try to maintain and restore these witnesses of our past. We are only the temporary guardians of these ancient buildings who must live centuries after us to maintain a live example of our history for next generations.
I read a few comments about the tar we used for the roads. I understand and agree with the comments. But I have to explain that based on our experience of restoration of 5 chateaux before this one, and welcoming guests, gravel and sand roads are causing a lot of damage on our old parquets inside the Chateau. So we chose a chalk base tar that will get much brighter (light grey) with time, on the video it had been done a few weeks ago so it looked very black. Sometimes we have to find compromises so that our Chateaux and their grounds remain functional for those coming to spend their holiday. Thank you again for your support and kindness. After 3 consecutive years of holidays in one of the five chateaux we are delighted that we will be able to stay in the chateau the Burnand in 2024. The whole experience is worthwile : the suberbly restaured castles, the environment and the excellent service and care of the whole team! Les vitraux de Cluny sont magnifiques, tout comme la toiture bourguignonne façon Hospices de Beaune .La restauration des parquets avec différentes essences de bois a du être fastidieuse ! Beau résultat ! Les plafonds ont retrouvé une belle allure. Félicitation pour votre travail avec votre femme, votre fils et famille, amis . La piscine est bienvenue dans votre projet, dommage qu elle ne soit praticable que l été. Les dépendances sont aussi très intéressantes pour un nouveau projet . Супер семья. Просто волшебники. Так быстро и качественно провести ремонт на таких больших площадях. Жене Сильвии отдельный респект за восстановление мебели и потолков. Великолепную крышу сохранили в её первозданром великолепии. Я бы бесплатно волонтёром приехала бы помогать воссоздать утраченную красоту, чтобы хотя бы прекаснуться к величию прошлых веков. Браво!

I think the painting of the wood paneling with the high contrast in colors is disturbing. It would have been much more subtle if the colors were more muted and the contrast more monochromatic.
You don’t need a beautiful woman to sell you on an idea when you have someone so passionate about what he does. He’s honest about the money he’s honest about his clients and he preserved a piece of history. All I can say is thank god the Nazis didn’t burn down all these chateaux’s, I think they would have if they knew they wouldn’t be back. I think him and everyone else doing this are hero’s and I hope they make a bunch of money for their effort.
i admire people who have no fear of such huge projects and all that 6 times again and again, just unbelieavable. beautifully renovated but please na asphalt outside, it just ruins everything, it doesnt suite this beautiful monument. please do plaster this asphalt areas around the castle. thank you so much for showing your hard work.

Would love to see a documentary about your family and your restoration of 6 chateaux. Each member must bring the talent to pull off such a restoration which skillfully includes the beautiful historic features with the modern amenities. Your wife is a gifted designer/decorator. Those roofs are beyond compare.

Everything is in order, except for the tarmac surface surrounding the house, which doesn't align with its character. Gravel would have been a far more suitable choice.
Le problème du gravier est qu'il se transporte facilement aux semelles des chaussures... et les pièces du château comportent des sols en marqueterie et dallage de très grandes quantités... et décemment on ne peut pas demander aux visiteurs de chausser des pantoufles à l'entrée. 😉
You are absolutely right. I just made the same comment before I saw yours. Its like unnecessary blemish on an otherwise beautifully done restauration.
La parte asfaltada al rededor del castillo es lo que choca bastante que entiendo que el arreglo y la restauración del castillo es sobre todo para sacarle beneficio como un hotel de lujo y claro hay que pensar en eso, también lo de hacer un mini golf me parece chocante pero como dije al principio se trata de un sitio de lujo para gente de dinero que desa pasar un tiempo en un chateau y no restaurar un castillo para conservarlo y volver ha hacerlo como estaba, me preguntó si por ello han tenido ayuda e autorización de los Monuments historiques , no es crítica es solo por saber. Algunos cuadros más modernos creo no pegan en esas estancias tan bonitas pero en general está bien hecho todo y si de verdad sólo han trabajado la familia casi sin profesionales pues "chapeau"

Actually I believe he destroyed the chateau. it no longer has the spirit of the castle. and all the renovations look cheap, ridiculous and inappropriate.
